SERMON SUNDAY

Capture Picture - Preach the Word - Preacher's hand holding Bible

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”                 (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

Welcome to another post in the category of posts entitled, ‘SERMON SUNDAY.’ Lord willing, at least a few times a month I will share a sermon with you by a well respected preacher who focuses on an important truth in Scripture in order to awaken the slumbering church, and also to alert Christians to the importance of reading and studying God’s Word. It may be a short sermon in written form, or I may present something to you in video form. I pray that when time allows, you will take the time to read or to listen to what I will be sharing with you.

I will also be sharing some expository preaching with you, but sadly, that is a very rare thing to find these days. I’m sure that many of you can attest to that undeniable fact. Sadly, many pastors today who seek to grow their churches oftentimes resort to distorting God’s Word either by taking a verse out of context, or by interjecting their own ideas into the text to make it say what they want a verse of Scripture to say (eisegesis). Sometimes a pastor will even go as far as to manipulate Scriptures in such a way so that they can preach about themselves (narcissistic eisegesis).

Then there are some pastors who just present watered down messages with very little Biblical content, and others who ‘preach’ controversial messages that will appeal to today’s culture in order to attract more people. Sadly they will continue ‘preaching’ these types of messages in order to entertain the crowd to keep them coming, rather than preaching God’s Word as they are instructed to do in order to feed and equip the sheep/saints and to expose the sin in men’s hearts so that God will grant them repentance and lead them to a knowledge of the truth.

My main goal in presenting these sermons to you is to point you to Jesus Christ and to make you realize the extreme importance of studying God’s Word and testing the teachings of everyone you listen to in light of Scripture.

Maybe you are one of those people who faithfully stand for Biblical truth and you recently had to leave your church because of what has been taking place as you have witnessed your pastor slowly drift from Biblical truth. Or maybe you left your church many years ago and you still haven’t found a church where the pastor preaches from God’s Word. If so, I have all of you in mind when posting these teachings and videos, as well.

For those who somehow find there way here, I hope and pray that you will be blessed and encouraged by the many Biblical teachings that I will be sharing with you in the weeks and months ahead –Lord willing.

Now for today’s SERMON SUNDAY:

Upon searching for a good sermon to share with you today, I found this one by Pastor Marc Monte of Faith Baptist Church in Avon, Indiana that was posted on Facebook, entitled, ‘Equal With God.’ When time allows, I hope that you will consider listening to it by clicking on the link below:

PASTOR MARC MONTE – EQUAL WITH GOD

Here is the sermon description that was also posted on Facebook:

“You cannot love God if you don’t love Jesus!!!”

John 5:18-29

18 “Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
★23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”

UPDATE:

Lord willing, later on this evening I will be posting Part 1 in the new series in which we will begin comparing the teachings found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church with Scriptures found in the Sacred Heart League Catholic New Testament Bible. I hope that you will consider joining me for this series so that you can become aware of what the Catholic Church actually teaches concerning many important topics, many of them being essential for salvation.

It is my hope and prayer that through this series many Catholics will come to discover the truly good news of the gospel that they are not fully aware of because many of the teachings in Catholicism continues to hide the truth from them, as you will soon see.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your Father’s Day weekend to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

INTRODUCTION

Many of us at one point in time, have probably been devastated by a person whom we have loved and trusted.  We think we really know a person, but then we discover the hidden truth; they are nothing like we thought they were.  For some of us (such as myself) we find out when it’s too late; the romance and gentleness turns into rejection, verbal and emotional  abuse, and in some instances, (not in mine) physical abuse,  moments after marriage.  However, God is still in control, and He uses the pain and deep rejection to draw us to Himself, knowing that in our brokenness we will then come to Him finding what we really need  —His love and forgiveness.

Sometimes we have our own ideas on how we’d like our lives to be, but little do we realize is that if we choose to lose our lives (surrendering them to Him) we will actually find our lives.  A life lived to satisfy self is never really satisfied.  But surrendering your life to God, by agreeing with God that you are a sinner, and by choosing to place your complete trust in Jesus Christ’s substitutionary atoning work on the cross as complete payment for your sins, you will find real life; eternal life.

Your prayers may not be answered in the way you hope they will be, but you can be assured that God will work all things together for good.  You will also find how He will take the most heart-breaking experiences in life, and in one way or another He will use them in amazing ways to bring Him glory, and to give you a deep and satisfying joy by how He will reveal Himself to you if you will only trust Him and seek Him in His Word .

He can restore your lives and your marriage and make yours better than you imagined it to be.  However, because we all have free wills, there will be some who will choose to seek after the things in this world, and therefore the bonding that God desires to take place between a man and a woman in marriage will never take place.  Commitment to one another in marriage is what keeps a marriage strong, but a marriage where a man and a woman have chosen to base the foundation of their relationship upon Christ, is a marriage that will stand through the many storms that rage against it through life’s journey.  (Almost finished…will add a few more thoughts when time allows).

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking the time to read some of my posts and poems!

God bless you all.

**UPDATE 3/11/13**I have been working on my testimony, but with all the information I would like to share with you, there is no way that it will be finished before Easter.  Lord willing, I hope to at least have a poem completed for you before the end of this month.  In the mean time, if you’d like to read the Easter poems I wrote in previous years, you can click on the titles below:

EASTER 2010 —  NO GREATER LOVE

EASTER 2011IT IS FINISHED

EASTER 2011ARISE

EASTER 2012ONCE

UPDATE 2/24/13  Since I became a Christian right before Easter, I decided now is the time that I would like to share my testimony with all of you.  Also, because one of my deepest desires is to share with Catholics the truth that I discovered as I read a little Catholic New Testament Bible that was given to me, I am going to be sharing some of the teachings of the Catholic church with you, and then comparing them to the truth presented in God’s Word, the Bible, because not many Catholics realize what the core doctrines of the Catholic church really are.

It is my prayer that God will lead many Catholics to this site, (as well as to many other sites where people reach out in love to share Biblical truth with Catholics) and that God will open their minds and their hearts to understand and to receive the joyous truths presented in His Word so they may come to know the joy of sins forgiven, and how they may have the assurance of heaven.

Above all, I pray that many Catholics (as well as those who have not yet heard the true gospel) will come to grasp the depth of God’s love for them in which He demonstrated to us by sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to pay the debt for our sins in full so that we might then be able to have a personal relationship with Him by being willing to repent (willing to turn from sin) and choosing to place our trust in Christ alone and not in our good works for our forgiveness,  (1 John 5:9-13) (Ephesians 3:17-19) (Romans 5:8) (1 John 4:9,10) (Acts 3:19, 20:21, 26:20) (Ephesians 2:8,9) (Romans 5:1-11) and receive this free gift in which He paid for with His life.

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”  (Galatians 2:21)

LORD WILLING, COMING SOON:

MY TESTIMONY: FROM FEAR AND UNCERTAINTY, TO PEACE AND ASSURANCE — HOW GOD REVEALED THE TRUTH TO ME AS I WAS READING A CATHOLIC NEW TESTAMENT BIBLE

shattered-heart

SHATTERED HEARTS AND BROKEN DREAMS

Has your heart been shattered, left in pieces beyond repair

Have you come to believe that no one will ever really care

Shattered hearts and broken dreams

Life is never how it seems

We give our hearts to those who seem to care

And sometimes we are completely unaware

Of who they really are inside

Filled with deceit and filled with pride

We’re captivated by their charm

Never thinking they would do us harm

We think we know them oh so well

But truth, in time, the heart does tell

The world with all its lusts still holds tight

But if love is true, true love resists; true love will fight

One may seek to satisfy their own desires,

But for a marriage to succeed, two it requires

Some come to God with shattered hearts

Seeking help and hope, God’s work then starts

When all at once our eyes can see

The truth that hurts now sets us free

God’s Word revealed

Sin no longer concealed

Our sins exposed by truth; His Word, His light

Repentant, now covered with Christ’s righteousness in His sight

Having hope to face another day

No matter what they choose to do or say

In Christ you’ll find a love so true, peace and

strength to heal your shattered heart

Your dreams surrendered in His hands, life begins; a brand new start

Hearts and lives joined together as one

Because they know Jesus Christ, God’s risen Son

Have no need to ever be in despair

Because they know their God is there

To give them grace to see them through

Life’s struggles and heartaches that come to me and you

Hearts can be healed, as well as joined together as one

When our lives are built upon Christ, God’s only Son

Our worldly dreams we then lay at His cross

For what we once saw as gain, we now count as loss

To know Christ and to make Him known is now our main desire

Commitment and to know His Word, is what this will require

Shattered hearts and broken dreams, through Christ you can

bring them before God’s very throne

And in return they’ll be renewed much better than your own

SCRIPTURES FOR YOU TO REFLECT ON

“Jesus answered,  “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone; the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

“And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)

“Husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church.” (Ephesians 5:25)

“Husbands love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” (Colossians 3:19)

“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33)

“Under three things the earth trembles, under four it cannot bear up: a servant who becomes king, a fool who is full of food, an unloved woman who is married, and a maidservant who displaces her mistress.” (Proverbs 30:21-23) (Emphasis is mine).

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.  Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:7,8)

“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. for whose sake I have lost all things.  I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.” (Philippians 3:7-9)

“No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”           (Psalm 84:11b)

“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13b,14)

Yes, helloooo world!  Welcome to my site.  I hope you will be encouraged and blessed by the poems God has put on my heart to share with you.  It is my prayer that I can be an encouragement to all who come to my site.

I think that many of you will be able to relate to feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, and discouragement that life often brings our way.  All of my poems are written from personal experiences… a prodigal child, and the heartbreak it brings, …a relationship that you long for, but the red flags tell you to beware, …and the joy that comes when you realize when you have Christ, you have everything, even though loneliness grips your heart at times.

One poem is based on comments I have heard people say that leave them fearful and locked within a prison without bars… an emotional prison that robs them, …or us, of the joys and blessings of having a meaningful relationship with someone,  if only they/we would let go of the haunting memories of the past.  Only God can do that deep healing within us, …if we allow Him to.  Sometimes that means we need to forgive someone, sometimes it just means trusting Him and asking for courage to step out and allow someone to become a part of our lives.

Also, because of the fact that darkness and deception are increasing in the world, and making their way into the church, I will be writing and sharing poems based on my experiences as I observed, and continue to observe the shifts from Biblical Christianity.  Today there are many teachings claiming to be Christian, however they seek only to distort and destroy Biblical Christianity as we know it, and replace it with a counterfeit.   My desire is not only to encourage others, but also to help other believers in Christ, and those seeking to know the truth, to realize the importance of studying God’s Word, and testing things that people say in the light of Scripture.

Many poems that I share with you, I will also give an introduction to, so you will understand the story behind it, as well as my thoughts at the time I wrote it, and my purpose for writing it.

My main goal is to glorify God, but I also want to encourage and challenge you…  not only through what I write, but also through Scriptures.  I may be able to bring a sense of hope to you, but ultimately God is the only one who can bring healing to your broken hearts and help you to not only grasp the depth of the love He has for you, but also to make you realize the importance of studying His Word, so your are not led astray personally, as well as spiritually.

May God bless all who come to my site, and thank you for stopping by!  🙂
