People have many different beliefs about Jesus, and what we believe about Him, will have eternal consequences.  This day and age, everything is all about ‘tolerance’.   However, it seems that everything is ‘tolerated’ except for Biblical Christianity.  Students have been told that they cannot write about Jesus Christ, or wear shirts that have Christian sayings or Bible verses on them, or pray or have Bible studies in school, due to some people’s misunderstanding about the ‘separation of church and state’ presented in the Constitution.  However, there is a public school in the state of California, that has the students learning about many faiths in their History course.  Even though the Christian faith is briefly discussed, the Muslim faith is looked at intently, and is much more like an indoctrination course…

Oprah is also having a powerful influence on many today, as she has strayed from her Christian beliefs she learned from the Baptist church she attended as she was growing up.  Now she has embraced ‘new age/new spirituality’ beliefs, and has had many people with these same beliefs on her show, such as Eckhart Tolle, who wrote ‘A NEW EARTH,’ and Marianne Williamson, who teaches ‘A COURSE IN MIRACLES.’  Because of the fact that many Christians do not test things in light of Scripture, they are being led into deception by her, as well as those who are seeking truth…

Because of the many ‘new age’ practices invading not only the church, but also many, if not all other aspects of society, and the many false teachings that people have been accepting, I started to think about the verse in Matthew 16:15, where Jesus asks His followers…  “But what about you?  Who do you say I am?”  It’s a personal choice that each of us will have to make and answer to Him about on the day we slip out into eternity and stand before Him.

In spite of those who believe in ‘reincarnation,’ or think ‘we just cease to exist after we die,’ or believe ‘there is no God,’ the fact remains that at the moment of our death, we will all realize that God does exist, and we will be held accountable for the truth that was revealed to us here during our lifetime, and how we responded to it.  I pray that thought will cause many who have not yet built their lives upon Christ, as a sure foundation, to seek God and to read His Word in the King James or New King James Bible.  (Newer versions like ‘The Message’ and ‘The Voice’, among others,  have had many words removed to take away from the meaning of the text, and words have been changed to ‘new age’ terms, and these changes seem to have been done intentionally.  For an example, please consider watching this video…

Above all, I pray you will find the truth, and come to have the assurance of salvation and eternity in heaven, because you have placed your trust in Christ alone.

“Jesus was not and is not the only christ, nor is he God.”  They believe him to be a reincarnated avatar, messiah, or messenger, sent from the ‘hierarchy’ to give the living on earth spiritual advanced revelation.  The New Age accepts that Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius, Jesus, and many others, were ‘Christs.’

Who do you say He is?

In a day and age when there is so much confusion in the church about who Jesus really is, please consider watching this video, with beautifully spoken words about who Jesus really is

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples,  “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”  They replied,  “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”  “But what about you?”  He asked.  “Who do you say I am?”  Simon Peter answered,  “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Jesus replied,  “Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven.”  Matthew 16:13-17

“Jesus said,  “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.  If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well.  From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.”  Philip said,  “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”  Jesus answered,  “Don’t you know Me Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?  Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.  How can you say ‘Show us the Father’?  Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me?  The words I say to you are not just My own.  Rather it is the Father, living in Me, who is doing His work.  Believe Me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me…”  John 14:6-11

“It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you completely healed. He is ” ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.’  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:10-12

“You are from below; I am from above.  You are of this world; I am not of this world.  I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am the one who I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.”  John 8:23,24

“The Jews gathered around Him, saying,  “How long will you keep us in suspense?  If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”   Jesus answered,  “I did tell you, but you do not believe.  The miracles I do in My Father’s name speak for Me, but you do not believe because you are not My sheep.  My sheep listen to My voice; I know them and they follow Me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;  no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”  Again the Jews picked up stones to stone Him, but Jesus said to them,  “I have shown you many great miracles from the Father.  For which of these do you stone Me?”  “We are not stoning you for any of these,”  replied the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because you a mere man, claim to be God.”  John 10:24-33

“But You are a shield around me O LORD.  You bestow glory on me, and lift up my head.”  Psalm 3:3

“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”  Matthew 24:27

“Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in Me.  In My Father’s house there are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you.  I am going there to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also be where I am.”  John 14:1-4

“It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight.  They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them.  “Men of Galilee, ”  they said,  “why do you stand here looking into the sky?  This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.”  Acts 1:7-11

“Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you.  I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking.  I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.  First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say,  “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised?  Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”  But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and with water.  By water also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.  By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgement and destruction of ungodly men.  But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.  The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.  Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?  You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.  That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.  But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.  So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with Him.”  2 Peter 3:1-12

“At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures.  We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.  But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.  This is a trustworthy saying.”  Titus 3:3-8

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”     1 John 5:12

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”  John 3:36

Some say He was an amazing prophet,

Some say He was a prophet raised from the dead,

Some believe Him to be the Christ of God, the true Messiah,

The only way to the Father, and the lifter of our head,

Some say there are many paths, and they all lead to God,

Some say our salvation comes by works, and not just by grace,

Some know it’s in one name alone we are saved,

And it’s only through Christ, our sin and guilt He will erase,

Some say He came to show us the way to our ‘Godhood,’

Some say He died and was raised only in spirit form,

Some know Him to be God, cloaked in flesh, our perfect sin sacrifice,

Whom, for us, His blood was shed and His flesh was torn,

Some say He was one of many ‘ascended masters,’

Some say He was an ordinary man who died for a lie,

Some know Him to be King of kings and Lord of lords,

And that He will come again from the eastern sky,

Some say He is a god among many gods, and there’s no such thing as sin,

Some know that our hearts are desperately wicked,

And know by His grace alone, to heaven can we enter in,

One day we must all respond to His question,

Do you believe Him to be the Christ of God, or just an ‘enlightened man?’

Your eternal destiny will depend upon your answer…

“Who do you say I am?”
