Capture Photobucket Survey pic

Welcome to another  ‘Survey Saturday.’  This is a new series of posts which I will be presenting to you once a month, (Lord willing) on the last Saturday of each month, to give those of you who read this blog from time to time, an opportunity to submit your requests as to what you would like to see me address on this blog in the future. Would you like me to write more poems? Then please vote accordingly, and consider leaving me a comment as to what topic you’d like me to write one about, and I will consider writing on that topic which I will always write from a Christian perspective.

Do you have some concerns about a certain pastor or teacher that you have been listening to, or something they are teaching or have taught about in the past? Then please place your vote and leave a comment, as well, letting me know who it is that you have concerns about, and why, and I will be happy to do some research on that pastor, teacher, or topic, and focus on that particular person or teaching in the new series of posts that, Lord willing, I will soon be writing once a month on Fridays, entitled, ‘FALSE TEACHER FRIDAY- LEARNING THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A BEREAN.’ I may share an in depth report on that certain pastor or teacher, or I may simply write briefly about the person or teaching and then include links to some good posts addressing that person or teaching that have been written by other Christians who are well respected and trusted. However, I continue to urge you to always  test everything you read and hear against God’s Word to see if it is true or not (Acts 17:11) –including everything that I write. Please keep in mind that no matter how many years a pastor or teacher has been preaching or teaching, or how well respected they may be, we must continue to examine the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (and done by those who claim to speak for God) is true,’ (Acts 17:11) because God’s Word is filled with warnings about false teachers! (Matthew 24:4-11, Acts 20:26-31, 1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Timothy 4:1-4, 2 Peter 2:1-3, to name just a few).

Maybe you have some concerns after reading a certain book that left you feeling very troubled, and you’re searching for some information on the author to see if what they are teaching is Biblical or not. Share your concerns and the name of the author and book, and I will do some research and write a post addressing the author and book in question. I am considering the possibility of writing some book reviews later this year –if time allows. I am not an expert on any certain topic, by any means, but I am definitely a Berean and a detective-at-heart and will gladly do all that I can — with God’s help — to give you some helpful information to put those troublesome thoughts to rest, and to encourage you in the process.

Thank you very much for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking some time out of your busy day to read my posts and poems! God bless you!

Today’s SURVEY SATURDAY focuses on the concerns that many Christians have today because of the massive amount of spiritual deception that is entering many churches today and leading many Christians astray. Having many serious concerns because of what I see taking place these days in the name of Christianity, as well as wanting to earnestly contend for the faith by sharing Biblical truth to expose these things are the main reasons that motivate me to write so many of my posts.

I did a similar survey in the past like the one below, but I wanted to give all of you another opportunity to participate in this survey hoping to receive more participation. I would appreciate your help very much by taking part in the following poll because I want to demonstrate just how widespread this concern is among all of you who are Christians and those seeking truth today.

And, as you can see by the choices below, because I also care about those who choose not to believe in God for some reason, I even gave you an option to allow you to express yourself, as well. I do, however, pray that the day will come when you will come to the knowledge of the truth of your need for a Savior, and an understanding of the love and forgiveness and peace that awaits you if you will only cry out to God to reveal Himself to you, and with true sorrow in your heart choose to place your trust in what Jesus did when He died in your place for your sins. Please consider reading the New Testament and ask God to reveal the truth to you, and you will come to discover the love of Someone who will never leave you or forsake you, and a strength that will be made perfect in your weakness, enabling you to face the hardest of circumstances because you will have His peace that surpasses all human understanding. I speak from many personal experiences and can attest to His faithfulness, mercy, peace, and strength that brought me through many heartbreaking and devastating circumstances. Even though things don’t always work out the way I pray they will, I have come to realize that man has his own free will, and we can’t blame God for the wrong choices that others make, and for the horrible things that some people choose to do.

If you take a minute to vote by selecting any of the choices below, I would love to hear from you, as well. So please consider leaving me a comment to express any concerns you may have about what is taking place at your church, or in your life, and, Lord willing, I will reply and even consider addressing your concern in an upcoming post. You can also create your own answer in the poll below if none of the choices I gave you to choose from applies to you.

Also, please help me by leaving a short comment in the comment section on this post with the names of  pastors and teachers that you have concerns about, and I will research their teachings and possibly write about them for my new Category of posts that I will begin presenting to you — Lord willing — next Friday, entitled:

‘FALSE TEACHER FRIDAY – LEARNING THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A BEREAN.’

Don’t forget to read the ‘Update’ and ‘Related Scriptures’ below this poll.

UPDATE

For those of you who read this blog from time to time, I’d like to let you know what I am hoping to share with you in the weeks to come —Lord willing:

Next Friday, May 1, 2015, As I mentioned above, I will be posting the first in a new category of posts I have presently entitled, ‘FALSE TEACHER FRIDAY – LEARNING THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A BEREAN,’ to, once again, stress the importance of praying for discernment and testing things in light of Scripture to see if what Christian leaders, pastors, and teachers are saying is true.

In May I will also begin sharing book reviews with you that have been written by other Christians to start with, because I personally don’t have the free time to read a book right now. That’s because I’m presently reading my 753 page book, the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’ so that I can finally finish and publish my post comparing the ‘Catechism of the Catholic Church’ against God’s Word, the Bible. However, Lord willing, I plan on writing reviews on some books I have purchased but have not yet read, as well as purchasing some books at my nearby HALF PRICE BOOKS store and reading them and sharing reviews on them with you in the months to come, as well. So for those of you who voted for me to do some book reviews, be watching for those.

Lord willing, I will also be sharing another very detailed ‘WARNING YOU WITH TEARS WEDNESDAY’ post with you either on the first or second Wednesday in May. (UPDATE: Since I’m still working on my False Teacher Friday post, I won’t be able to complete and post that for another week or so. Lord willing, I am hoping to post it by Wednesday, May 27th). I was hoping to share it with you this Wednesday, but I need time to deal with some other important issues first. So if you’re interested, please be sure to check back here in May, and you will see how, once again, many Christian leaders, pastors, and teachers that people have placed their trust in, are veering off course because they are failing to test their own teachings, as well as the teachings of those who profess to be Christians, against the truth of God’s Word, and therefore they will be held accountable, and are responsible — in part — for leading many other Christians astray. I say “in part,” because we as Christians are clearly warned throughout Scripture about spiritual deception and how false teachers will arise among us, and therefore we have the personal responsibility to always test things that are said and done by pastors, preachers, and teachers in light of Scripture to see if what is being said is true,’ (Acts 17:11) so that we will not be deceived.

Until then, please keep your eyes on Jesus, and follow Him alone!

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.” (Jude 3)

“In fact everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 3:12-17, 4:1-4)

“We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred  mountain. And we have the word of the prophets made more certain and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them –bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and and their destruction has  not been sleeping.” (2 Peter 1:16-21, 2 Peter 2:1-3)

“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming ‘I am the Christ’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:3-8)

“Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. Therefore, I declare to you today, that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” (Acts 20:25-31)

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners — of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:15,17)

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness an wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:16-32)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)

“Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:10-13)

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

Capture Eyes with tears 1Welcome to another post in a new series of posts that I will be doing (Lord willing) at least once a month on Wednesdays so that I can make you all aware of some important information that I come across on the Internet that you may not have heard about. I have been trying to think of something that I could write on a regular basis that would be short and to the point (at least I’ll try to be), and since I am a detective-at-heart and desire to make you all aware of the importance of testing things that pastors and teachers say (and do) in light of Scripture (Acts 17:11), the idea to do these posts — as well as the name — came to my mind in November of 2014, based on Acts 20:26-31:

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”

So with that in mind, here is what I’d like to make you all aware of on this Wednesday:

Capture Earth Day picture from photobucket

Today is April 22, and this day has been designated as ‘Earth Day.’ Many people think that it’s all about protecting our environment by recycling, or saving the trees for the generations to come, and reducing pollutants. Don’t get me wrong. God wants us to be good stewards of this earth, and I recycle all my paper, plastics, etc., like many others do. However, some of you may not realize the hidden agenda that some of the people who are deeply involved in the environmental movement have. Therefore, I decided to put this post together to inform you of what lies at the very roots of Earth Day to show you that it’s not actually an environmental issue at all, but it’s spiritual in nature, rooted in New Age/New Spirituality ideas. The bottom line is the belief that the earth is a living, breathing organism and many in paganism worship the earth as Mother Earth –Gaia. My time is very limited today, so I can’t write an in depth post on this subject, but here is a lot of good information that will  clearly make my point:

The description with the picture below is as follows: Gaia – “The physical and spiritual life of the Earth Mother.”

The information posted with the picture below said the following:

“In Mythology, Gaia is the personification of our planet “Mother Earth…”

When time allows, please consider listening to these videos with important information, and reading the related articles below, as well. Also, be sure to ask your children what they did at school today to celebrate ‘Earth Day.’

Here’s an excerpt from an excellent article on the global environmental movement and the Gaia connection:

LORD WILLING, NEW POST COMING SOON:

For the past week or so I have been working on a post, and I hope to have it completed soon. So, Lord willing, next Wednesday I hope to present you with another edition of Warning You With Tears Wednesday that will have a lot of information to, once again, make you see the extreme importance of praying for discernment and testing everything you read and hear in light of Scripture. So, if you’re interested, please be sure to stop by here next Wednesday!

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you for taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems. God bless you!

Welcome to another ‘TESTIMONY TUESDAY.’ Lord willing, at least once a month on Tuesdays, whenever I come across a video or an article that either presents a Biblical testimony of someone coming to the understanding  of the true  gospel, or a testimony of someone who was set free from a cult or some form of spiritual deception, etc., I will post it for you with the hope that it will bless and encourage you, and, above all, so that God would receive glory and honor for setting these people free.

It is also my hope and prayer that when I share these testimonies with you on Tuesdays, God will use His Word, and the Biblical truth presented in these testimonies to set many other people free from the same bondage and spiritual deception that the people in the videos and articles I choose to share with you have been set free from.

And now for today’s TESTIMONY TUESDAY:

In last week’s TEACHING THURSDAY, I shared many good instructional videos to help equip those of you who are Christians so that you will be able to effectively and lovingly share Biblical truth with Jehovah’s Witnesses when they come to your door. So for today’s Testimony Tuesday I thought it would be fitting to share this amazing and very moving testimony with you of a former Jehovah’s Witness, Brian Garcia, and how he came to the understanding of who Jesus truly is! Except for the fact that he mentioned that he was listening to Hillsong music, (something that, Lord willing, I may write about in the future), and another minor thing that he said that escapes me at the moment, everything else he said was very Biblical and very moving. This is a testimony to the power of God and to His Word to be able to open the eyes of someone so blinded to the truth because he was so deceived by the teachings of men.

It is also my hope and prayer that God will lead many Jehovah’s Witnesses to this post. In spite of the fact that they are told not to view ‘apostate literature,’ I pray they will choose to listen to his testimony, even if it’s only out of curiosity. I pray that many Jehovah’s Witnesses will begin to question what theu have been taught and come to discover the joy that filled Brian Garcia’s heart when he realized that Jesus indeed is God in the flesh.

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“Now Thomas (called Didymus) one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe it.”  A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to Him, “My Lord  and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:24-29)

“He is the image of the invisible God, the *firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him t0 reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1:15-20) *firstborn – unique in rank and privilege

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.  And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.” (Acts 8:26-38) (Verse 37 — Words in red — are missing from the Jehovah’s Witness New World Translation. I must admit that verse 37 is also missing from the NIV translation, as well! The translation that I have mainly used since becoming a Christian. Time to switch to the reliable King James).

Thank you for stopping by. And thank you very much for taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

Capture Picture of Bible - Posted by 'Life Everlasting'

Welcome to another edition in a new category of posts entitled, ‘TEACHING THURSDAY.’ Lord willing, at least once a month on Thursdays, I will be posting either a video, an article, or some form of teaching  in which a *Biblically sound teacher *(Biblically sound because what they say and teach lines up with the truth of God’s Word,  Acts 17:11) will either expose a cult, an unbiblical movement, teaching, or a practice that is leading many people and Christians astray, or present some type of Biblical teaching to help you grow in a deeper understanding of God’s Word on different topics. Some of these teachings may be essentials of the Christian faith, and others may be things that we can debate but not divide over.

It is my hope and prayer that by presenting these teachings to you, many more Christians will not only come to realize the importance of testing the words of men (and women) against the truth of God Word so they will not be deceived, but also it is my hope and prayer that many Christians will come to know the joy of learning God’s Word.

If you read last week’s ‘TEACHING THURSDAY’ post and enjoyed Pastor Randy White’s first, in depth, verse by verse teaching on the book of Revelation, or if you missed it and would like to see it, you can click HERE. I started putting together a ‘Playlist’ for you and will continue to add each week’s teaching to this ‘Playlist’ as soon as they become available.

On with today’s ‘TEACHING THURSDAY.’

It’s finally Spring! My favorite season of the year! All that snow that has been piling up has now disappeared, the trees are beginning to bud, and flowers are again emerging from the ground to display just one of many aspects of the beauty of God’s creation!

Another sign that Spring is here is the fact that many of you are once again beginning to receive visits from Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons. It starts with either a knock on your front door, or your doorbell  begins to ring. It usually happens when you’re in the middle of doing something important, or on your day off when you decide to sleep in for a few extra hours. When you peer through your window to see who’s there, you see that familiar sight of either well dressed Jehovah’s Witnesses; men in suits, and  women in dresses. Or you may see Mormon men dressed in black pants and their crisp, white shirts, and women in dresses. There they are, standing on your front door step. For those of you who actually open your doors, you find that you are greeted warmly by these loving and sincere, but sincerely deceived groups of people who have come to share what they have been well trained to share with you.

I must admit that before I was a Christian I was one of those people who would pretend not to be home when they came around. Or, if it was a warm, summer day and my door was opened and it was too late to pretend, I would just politely answer the door and accept one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ ‘AWAKE’ magazines or a Mormon’s tract, and allow them to speak to me for a minute or so. I would then thank them for stopping by, and tell them that I wasn’t interested. When our short conversation came to an end, I would just tell them to have a nice day, and I proceeded to calmly close the door.

However, after I became a Christian, God put an overwhelming compassion in my heart for these very dedicated, but deceived and lost groups of people known as Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons who have accepted, believe in, and go door to door presenting people with ‘another Jesus’ and ‘another gospel’ (2 Corinthians 11:3,4 Galatians 1:6-9) because they themselves have been deceived. Since God opened my eyes to the false teachings of Catholicism, I know very well how it feels to be spiritually deceived! And therefore I strongly desired, with God’s help, to somehow help each one of them who came to my door to come to know the true Jesus of the Bible!

Very few Mormons came to my home. Even though our conversations were short, I always made sure to give each of them either one of the New Testament Bibles from the cases of Bibles that I would purchase ($1.00 for each Bible if purchased by the case), or if I ran out of Bibles, I would give them a tract before they left my home to continue on with their door to door visits. However, many Jehovah’s Witnesses frequently came to my home. I allowed many of them to come into my home to give me their presentations, hoping to interact with them and to share the gospel with them.

The first time I let Jehovah’s Witnesses into my home was within days or weeks after I became a Christian! They had me so confused that I couldn’t help them very much at all! I felt so bad that I cried in front of the man and his wife and admitted to them that I didn’t know my Bible very well because I was a new Christian. I asked them if I could at least pray for them before they left my home and they actually allowed me to. From the depths of my heart I prayed out loud and pleaded with God to reveal His love and truth to them, and God helped me to pray in such a way that I believe it showed the love of Jesus to these Jehovah’s Witnesses. (If you’d like, you can read more about my encounters with Jehovah’s Witnesses at the links below under ‘RELATED POSTS.’)

After I learned how to better witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses, I began to invite them in again. We had long conversations in which I tried very hard to keep them on one topic at a time, because they like to keep changing the subject. However, after a while they stopped coming to my home. I kept thinking that they must have placed me on a ‘Do Not Call On These People List’ or something, and one day I started to actually see them pass by my home and knock on other people’s doors instead. I trust that God continued to bring more Christians into their lives to plant more seeds of truth into their hearts and minds,  and to water the seeds that He allowed me to plant in their hearts, as well. In the end it’s only God who makes things grow. (1 Corinthians 3:5-9)

So with all of that in mind, in today’s edition of ‘TEACHING THURSDAY’ I’d like to share many excellent teachings with you to help those of you who also have a desire to learn how to effectively witness to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

If I may, I’d like to end this post with one plea: If you’re a Christian, please don’t turn down the opportunity that God may give you to witness to any Jehovah Witness or Mormon who may come to your door. At least just take a minute or two to share your testimony with them and allow God to use you to speak His truth into their hearts. They get so many people who slam doors in their faces. Wouldn’t you like to be one among very few who will reach out in love to them?

(Lord willing, in the near future I will also post many good teachings to help those of you who desire to reach Mormons, and others with Biblical truth, as well. So if you’re interested, keep watching for new TEACHING THURSDAY posts).

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to” live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!” (Galatians 1:6-9)

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:9-11)

“What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:5-7)

SILENT CRIES

HE HAS RISEN INDEED!

Capture Picture of cross with purple sash

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you, while He was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ Then they remembered His words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles.  But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

On the Road to Emmaus

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.  They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;  but they were kept from recognizing Him. He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” They stood still, their faces downcast.  One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him, “Are You the only one visiting Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?” “What things?” He asked. “About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed Him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified Him;  but we had hoped that He was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.  In addition, some of our women amazed us. They went to the tomb early this morning  but didn’t find His body. They came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels, who said He was alive.  Then some of our companions went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.”  He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter His glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself.  As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged Him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So He went in to stay with them. When He was at the table with them, He took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together and saying, “It is true! The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.” Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when He broke the bread.

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

“While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.  He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”  Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,  and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:1-49)

“Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.  By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all He appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.  Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

The Resurrection of the Dead

“But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?  If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.  And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.  More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead. But He did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.  For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.  Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost.  If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.  For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.  For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when He comes, those who belong to Him.  Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.” (1 Corinthians 15:1-24)

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25)

EXPLORING CHRISTIANITY – THE RESURRECTION

CROT01

For those of us who not only have come to an understanding of our sinfulness and God’s righteousness, but also have come to the point of putting our complete trust in what Jesus did when He willingly died in our place for our sins and we no longer place our trust in our ‘good works’ hoping to earn God’s forgiveness and love, our hearts are filled with gratefulness –especially at this time of year. When we realize that Jesus — God in the flesh — willingly allowed God, His Father, to pour out His wrath intended for us because of our sins upon Himself, it causes us to stand in awe and amazement at His love and undeserved grace and mercy! And as much as we may have a renewed appreciation for His willingness to die for us, and even though we may greatly rejoice in a deeper way on Resurrection Sunday for what He accomplished for us, oftentimes many of us don’t take enough time to reflect upon the excruciating pain that Jesus willingly endured on our behalf for our sins that once condemned us and separated us from a completely Holy God.

Around seven years ago I watched a video of a physician who explained in great detail the effects of crucifixion on the human body, thus revealing the unimaginable pain that Jesus must have gone through when He was crucified. It made me realize just how much Jesus suffered on my behalf to pay the debt for my sins. So today when I saw the following article that was posted by Ken Ham of Answers In Genesis I decided to share it with you hoping that it would cause your love and appreciation for what Jesus did for you to grow deeper, as well. When time allows, I hope you’ll consider taking some time to continue reading this deeply thought-provoking article, and I hope and pray that God will move upon your heart and give you a better grasp of the depth of the love that God has for you.

For those of you who have not yet come to the understanding of your need for a Savior, I pray that ‘God’s kindness will lead you to repentance,’ and that one day you will place your trust in Christ alone for your salvation and come to know the love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace of God, as well.

Please remember that only reading God’s Word can reveal His truth and His love to you, and ‘faith comes by hearing God’s Word’ (Romans 10:17) and not by having ‘experiences,’ but I thought that this article, as well as the many Scriptures I also posted for you, would be perfect to share with all of you today.

A PHYSICIANS PERSPECTIVE ON WHAT JESUS ENDURED ON OUR BEHALF

From the Garden of Gethsemane to His last moments on the cross, Jesus — God in the flesh — took God the Father’s wrath intended for us because of our sins upon Himself, and died in our place. Is your trust in what you do, or have you placed your trust in what Jesus has already done for you?

“Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way;and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:1-12)

“I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me. My mouth is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death. Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.” (Psalm 22:14-18)

“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John testified concerning Him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because He was before me.’ ”) Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known.” (John 1:9-18)

“And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” (1 John 5:11,12)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” (John 3:36)

“Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, forbearance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4)

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord…” (Acts 3:19)

“Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.” (Romans 4:4-8)

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned.”                (Romans 5:1-12)

“But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:15-19)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code with its regulations that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”         (Colossians 2:13-15)

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

Capture Picture of Bible - Posted by 'Life Everlasting'

Welcome to the first post in a new category of posts entitled, TEACHING THURSDAY.’ Lord willing, at least once a month on Thursdays, I will be posting either a video, an article, or some form of teaching  in which a *Biblically sound teacher *(Biblically sound because what they say and teach lines up with the truth of God’s Word,  Acts 17:11) will either expose an unbiblical movement, teaching, or a practice that is leading many Christians astray, or present some type of Biblical teaching to help you grow in a deeper understanding of God’s Word on different topics.

I must say that I started this teaching series of posts at the perfect time! Starting right now –8:00p.m. central — Pastor Randy White is beginning a live online interactive Bible study on the Book of Revelation! This Bible study will take place every Thursday night at 8:00p.m. central! So forget that Rick Warren said that Jesus told His disciples, “The details of My return are none of your business.” (Purpose Driven Life Pages 285-286) God’s Word is clear that we are to watch for His return, and we are to be ready!

So grab your Bible and join Pastor Randy now by clicking HERE! And tune in again next Thursday and every Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. and click on the link above to continue in this study of Revelation with Pastor Randy!

If you didn’t get a chance to watch Pastor Randy’s teaching that began on Thursday, April 2, 2015, I started putting together a ‘Playlist’ for you that you can see below. I’ll continue to add every one of his teachings on the book of Revelation to this ‘Playlist’ just as soon as they become available.

It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age while we wait for the blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.
