Oftentimes we fail to give God the praise that He is so worthy of just because of who He is. We may be quick to call upon Him for help when trials come our way, but how often do we really just stop and consider how amazing and  awesome He really is and tell Him so? Just take a few minutes to reflect on the beauty of a sunrise or a sunset, or His amazing power to hold this universe together!

How often have we even expressed our deep appreciation to Him for the undeserved free gift of salvation that many of us have personally received by placing our trust in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation instead of in our good works that are as filthy rags in His sight. (Isaiah 64:6) His forgiveness, mercy, and grace clearly reveals His love for us! To think that God would go to the extent of sending His one and only Son —  Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, the second Person in the Trinity — to provide the only way for us to be reconciled to Himself! Jesus Christ was not a “victim.” He willingly came not only to bear our sins upon the cross, but also to take God’s full wrath that was meant for us because of all of our sins and guilt. And God raised Him from the dead to show that His once for all sacrifice was sufficient to satisfy the just demands of a thrice Holy God.

It’s a poor excuse, but sometimes we fail to praise Him just for who He is because we get caught up in our daily routines, running here and running there, trying to get everything done in a limited  amount of time or by a certain deadline. Or sometimes it may be that we become blindsided by something that causes us to focus on the overwhelming circumstances of life instead of on our God who is able to do far beyond what we could ever ask or imagine that He could do! We fail to recall to mind how faithful He has been to provide for us in the past, and His power and might not only to solve the most difficult of circumstances, but also to soften the hardest of hearts so that they might grasp the depth of His love and mercy when the truth of the Biblical gospel messages is given to them. Because God has given each of a free will, sadly, things don’t always work out as we hope and pray that they will, but the fact remains that God is amazing, trustworthy, and faithful to those who place their trust in Him.

No matter what you are facing right now, take time to give Him praise.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:9,10)

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25)

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things and in him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17)
