Let’s face it. We are truly living in trying times! Many are without jobs, some have had to close their businesses due to the shutdown and lack of income, our country is in chaos because so many people are in rebellion against God and those in authority, and things worldwide seem like they are only getting worse! However, for those of us who have placed our trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, we have a  hope that cannot be extinguished –no matter what! We look around and realize all of the chaos and lawlessness are clear signs of the soon return of Jesus Christ! Whether we have just a few more hours remaining or many more years to wait, we have so much to look forward to after life, as we now know it, finally comes to an end!

Even though our hope may be in Jesus Christ, sometimes we still experience discouragement and sorrow when we see what’s happening all around us, which is why it’s so important for us as born-again, Bible believing Christians to stay in God’s Word for the encouragement and spiritual strength that we need to get us through each day and so we can be a light in this dark world to those who do not know the true love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Just imagine the hopelessness, fear, and discouragement they must be feeling right now! So let’s come before the Lord and surrender any sorrow, fear, discouragement, and frustration to Him and ask Him to fill us with His strength, wisdom, joy, and grace so that we can share His love and the truth of the Biblical gospel with those who need to hear it and to receive it during these very trying times!

Here is your encouraging Scripture for today, Sunday, June 28th 2020:

As a former Catholic who also went to twelve years of Catholic school, I have a deep desire to see Catholics come to know the truly good news of the Biblical gospel. If precious Catholics would only test what their church teaches against their own Scriptures they would come to realize (as I did, and as many other former Catholics did) that many of the teachings of Catholicism contradict God’s Word. If they would also do some research they would come to realize that there is no historical evidence to back up the Catholic church’s claim of “apostolic succession.”

Below is a quote taken from Walter Martin’s book that is the focus of the videos below. Walter Martin was a Baptist minister and the former host of The Bible Answer Man radio show:

“The whole foundation of Roman Catholicism admittedly rests upon Peter as the Rock. Once you have shown that Christ is the Rock there is no apostolic succession. There is no authority for the claim of the Roman Catholic Church and there is no basis to their claim that they are the “only true Church of Christ.”

Dear Catholic, (and any Bible believing Christian who desires to reach precious Catholics with the good news of the Biblical gospel), when time allows please consider listening to the following two videos and seek God regarding what His Word truly says in light of what you have been taught during your many years in the Catholic church.

Your eternal destination depends upon the choice you make regarding where you will choose to place your trust for the forgiveness of your sins. If you choose to trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, then you will spend eternity with Him in heaven. If you reject the truth that can be found in your own Scriptures and choose to trust in your good works and the Catholic church’s “sacramental system” to save you, sadly, you will find out when it’s too late that there is no such place as “purgatory” which means there is no second chance.

God already did everything necessary to provide a way for you — and for all of us — to be cleansed from all of our sins and guilt so that we could have a relationship with Him, which is by coming to Him through Jesus Christ alone! Please take the time to search these things out for yourselves! If so, you will discover the joyously good news of the depth of the love that God has for us all!

While we were yet sinners He sent His one and only Son into our sin-filled world; Jesus Christ, the second Person in the Trinity, willingly came and lived the perfect, sinless life that we could never live,  became the spotless Lamb of God who was nailed to the cross, took upon Himself God’s full wrath that was intended for you — and for me — because of our sins, died in our place, was buried, and arose from the dead in bodily form three days later. Yes, the Catholic church teaches most of these things, but their teachings that are based on the “traditions of men” such as purgatory, the Sacrifice of the Mass, apostolic succession, the sacraments, etc., have hindered you from seeing the truly good news of the Biblical gospel! Please start thinking for yourselves and begin reading God’s Word, the Bible! Ask God to show you the truth, and He will! It will then be up to you to decide if you are going to choose to believe the Word of God — the Bible, or the word of man — traditions/teachings of your church that do not line up with the truth of God’s Word. The first choice will lead you to experience God’s joy and peace now, the latter will lead you to deep regret and eternal torment in the fires of hell. That may sound harsh, but it’s the truth.

“Being justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access through faith into this grace wherein we stand: and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God. And not only so: but we glory also in tribulation, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience trial; and trial hope; And hope confoundeth not: because the charity [love] of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost who is given to us. For why did Christ, when as yet we were weak, according to the time, die for the ungodly? For scarce for a just man will one die: yet perhaps for a good man some one would dare to die. But God commendeth his charity [love] towards us: because when as yet we were sinners according to the time. Christ died for us. Much more therefore, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son: much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. And not only so: but also we glory in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received reconciliation.” (Romans 5:1-11  – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

“By this hath the charity [love] of God appeared towards us, because God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we may live by him. In this is charity [love]: not as though we had loved God, but because he hath first loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:9,10 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

“Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

“Be it known to you all and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, even by him, this man standeth here before you, whole. This is the stone which was rejected by you the builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

“For there is one God: and one mediator of God and men, the man Christ Jesus: Who gave himself a redemption for all, a testimony in due times.” (1 Timothy 2:5,6 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God, which is greater, because he hath testified of his Son. 10He that believeth in the Son of God hath the testimony of God in himself. He that believeth not the Son maketh him a liar: because he believeth not in the testimony which God hath testified of his Son. And this is the testimony that God hath given to us eternal life. And this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life. He that hath not the Son hath not life. These things I write to you that you may know that you have eternal life: you who believe in the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:9-13 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

“He that believeth in the Son hath life everlasting: but he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36 – Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible)

Now that my central air problem has been repaired I can finally get back to writing and finishing my next post in the series in which we are comparing many of the teachings that can be found in the Catechism Of The Catholic Church to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible out of my desire to show precious Catholics that Jesus Christ’s “once for all” sacrifice was completely sufficient to pay the debt for all of our sins — in full ! I pray that many Catholics will take the time to read the posts in this series so that they will come to realize, (by reading the truth of God’s Word that I share in these posts), that they can have the assurance of entering heaven as soon as they die —if they will choose to place their full trust only in what Jesus Christ has already accomplished and not try to earn their way to heaven by their good works, church attendance, receiving the sacraments, etc. As much as I wanted to finish writing the next post in this series, it was just too hard to sit and write for that many hours when the temperature in my home was oftentimes in the high 80s and low 90s!  😦

Sadly, many people not only deny the authenticity and accuracy of the Bible, but also they deny that the Bible contains the inspired, living, actual words of God. When time allows, please consider watching the above video and prayerfully consider sharing it with any skeptic that you may know in your lives. They just may consider watching it, especially if they are extremely interested in history.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 – KJV)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16,17 – KJV)

“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” (Matthew 5:18 – KJV)

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isaiah 40:8)In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” (Psalm 56:4 – KJV)

“Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.” (Psalm 119:160 – KJV)

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” (Proverbs 30:5 – KJV)

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 – KJV)

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 – KJV)

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” (James 1:21 – KJV)

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” (1 Peter 1:23 – KJV)

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14 – KJV)

I’m sorry, but it will probably be another two weeks (hopefully sooner) before I am able to finish the next post in my present series, Comparing Scriptures In A Catholic New Testament Bible To Teachings Found In The Catechism Of The Catholic Church — Dear Catholic Are You Going To Believe The Word Of God, Or The Word Of Man?
