What was it that Jesus Christ, God in human flesh, did when He was upon the cross that fully satisfied God the Father’s wrath and His just demands to pay for all of our sins and to provide for our salvation? Was it enough that Jesus shed His blood and died in our place after taking upon Himself the full wrath of God that we deserved because of all of our sins, (as well as bore our griefs and our sorrows) as it says in Isaiah 53? Or did Jesus Christ also have to die spiritually as some professing Christian pastors and teachers tell us today? Regarding 2 Corinthians 5:21, did Jesus actually become sin as many pastors and teachers also teach and as many of us hear stated in some songs that are presented to us to sing at our churches (which I refuse to do) during worship time? (Chris Tomlin’s, ‘Jesus Messiah,’ Kristyn Getty’s ‘Power of the Cross,’ etc. ) These are very important issues! Teaching and believing that Jesus died spiritually has an extremely damaging impact upon the Biblical gospel as presented to us in God’s Word because the focus is taken off of what God demanded as payment for sin and what Jesus truly accomplished by His shed blood and physical death that completely satisfied God, His Father. I hope that you will take time out of your busy schedule to read this post and to check out the very important information that I have linked to for you below when time allows you to do so.

Many of you are aware of the false teaching that those in the ‘Word of Faith‘ movement, such as Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Fred Price, and others present when they say that ‘after Jesus died physically He also died spiritually and descended into hell where He was tormented by the demons, and became the first ‘born again’ man.’ If not, please take a few minutes to listen to one example in the following video:

However, this Jesus Died Spiritually (JDS) teaching that I am speaking of in this particular post is different in many ways and is presently being taught by some well respected professing Christian teachers and pastors! I personally heard two different pastors teach this on one particular Sunday (December 10th 2017) as I was looking for a sermon to listen to since I was, and presently still am, churchless. I was shocked and quite stunned because I had never heard this being taught by those whom I believed presented Biblical Christianity.

The first time that I heard this being taught was while I was watching a live streamed service from Duluth Bible Church, and it was said right before their communion service. Although this may not be an exact quote (because they deleted that portion of their service when they uploaded it onto YouTube), it was very close to what I heard Pastor Dennis Rosker say:

‘It wasn’t Jesus’ physical death that brought about our salvation, it was His spiritual death that did.’

I was completely shocked to hear him say that!

After I listened to him for a couple of more minutes to make sure that I understood him correctly and in context, I shut off this live streamed service and then decided to listen to another pastor that I had been listening to at that time –Pastor Greg Durel, of Heritage Bible Church. This particular sermon was entitled, ‘Who Did Jesus Claim To Be?’ This was a prerecorded sermon, so you can imagine how shocked I was to hear him say almost the same exact thing when he spoke of the spiritual death of Jesus Christ! Below is a written portion from that sermon which is an exact quote from a portion between the 25:31 minute mark and the 27:30 minute mark. You can listen to his whole sermon or just listen to the three minute portion which will be enough for you to hear what he says concerning Jesus dying spiritually in context.

SERMON – WHO DID JESUS CLAIM TO BE? (SOURCE)

“Now, John 19:30, Christ, human plus deity. Understand, God in the flesh. 100% human, 100% God. He  had to be 100% human otherwise, what did He prove? He’s tempted in all points in His humanity as we are, yet He never transgresses. So He’s sinless. So He’s going to offer Himself as the sin offering, the Lamb of God. Now, He’s on the cross and He dies spiritually, during the course of time when He says, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” We understand that to mean that the humanity of Christ, in some form or fashion, experiences separation, spiritual separation, from the deity of Christ. The penalty for sin is spiritual death, the consequence of the byproduct of spiritual death is physical death. Remember, the day Adam sinned he died. How? Spiritually. The byproduct was hundreds of years later he died physically. That’s what has to be corrected. The spiritual death has to be paid for. If that’s paid for then we don’t experience spiritual death, we can have eternal life with the Lord. Why? Because our sins have paid for, by whom? By Christ.”

Let’s take a few minutes and examine what Greg Durel said in light of Scripture. (Acts 17:11)

Yes, Jesus Christ was 100% God and 100% man. (John 1:1, Hebrews 1:1-13, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15-19)

Yes, Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and became our sin offering; the Lamb of God. (1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5)

No. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that Jesus died spiritually.

No. Nowhere in Scripture can we find anything to even hint at the humanity of Jesus Christ separating from the deity of Christ. That would have divided the Trinity; the oneness/unity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Many try to use the Scripture in Habakkuk 1:13 that says the eyes of the LORD are “too pure to look upon evil,” so he turned away from His Son, when, as some (wrongly) teach, He became sin. We must not add to God’s Word — or take away from it — in order to make it say what it does not clearly say. (Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32, Revelation 22:18)

Yes, the penalty for sin is spiritual death, the byproduct being physical death, however, this applies only to Adam and Eve and passed on to all humanity because of their choice to sin. Jesus Christ never sinned, and thus He did not die — or have to die — spiritually. Jesus’ shed blood and His physical death was all that God required to pay the debt for all sin.

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18)

In the sermon series exposing this unbiblical JDS teaching that I have linked to for you below, Pastor Tyler goes into this much deeper by explaining that Jesus was fulfilling Psalm 22 when He cried out on the cross:

“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”(Matthew 27:46, Mark 15:34)

God did not turn His back on His Son. Pastor Tyler goes on to clearly show from Isaiah 53:11 that God, His Father, actually saw Jesus as He hung on the cross:

He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.” (Emphasis added).

Using many other Scriptures in his sermon series he also shows that this is why it is necessary for people to accept the unbiblical teaching that Jesus literally became sin, in order to accept the unbiblical teaching that Jesus died spiritually).

Continuing on:

After hearing that same false teaching a second time from Greg Durel within just minutes after hearing it the first time, I then knew that God was trying to clearly show me just how prevalent this false teaching is becoming, and realized that I needed to write about this not only to warn Christians, but also in order to expose this false teaching and to “earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.” (Jude 3)

A related side note:

A few years before I permanently left Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows (the church I called home for 14 1/2 years – June 1997-January 2012 , right after ER2), I remember Pastor James MacDonald taught this in one respect when I heard him say something very similar and equally disturbing during a *sermon regarding what Jesus said to God, His Father, when He prayed on the Mount of Olives:

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)

What I heard James MacDonald clearly and loudly say during his sermon raised an immediate red flag, brought many Scriptures to mind to refute what he said, and caused me to jump and my eyes to open wide out of shock. He said:

“What was  in the cup? He saw Himself becoming sin!”

Hearing him say that troubled me so much that I left Harvest and did not plan on returning! Jesus did not literally become sin or He would not have been the perfect, spotless Lamb of God. He was our sin offering (Isaiah 53:10). He bore our sins (1 Peter 2:24), our sins were placed upon Him (Isaiah 53:6), but He did not literally become our sin; our sin was imputed to Him, just as the righteousness of Jesus Christ is imputed to those of us who choose to place our trust in the once for all sacrifice of Jesus Christ as being sufficient to pay the debt for all of our sins and guilt –in full! *[Sermon by James MacDonald that I am referring to was preached on Nov. 17, 2008]

After that incident I did a search to find some information regarding 2 Corinthians 5:21 and came upon an article written by Ron Rhodes. Here is a portion of his article:

When I first became a Christian my first Bible study teacher presented us with a very good teaching in which she shared many Scriptures and explained to us from the Old Testament regarding the scape goat and how one was to be sacrificed to the LORD for a sin offering, and the sins of the people were  spoken over the second goat and then it was released into the desert as a scape goat, and how it was foreshadowing the day when all of our sins would be laid upon Jesus Christ, the perfect, spotless Lamb of God, who would take away the sins of the world. (Read Exodus 12, Leviticus 4:3, 23,33 Leviticus 16:6-10, Isaiah 53)

Regarding this teaching of Jesus becoming sin, I took some time to search the Scriptures and to write down many of them that show Jesus Christ was sinless: Isaiah 53:9, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:14-16, Hebrews 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5

I also searched through the Scriptures for instances where the word “cup” was used in that type of context in order to see what God’s Word revealed about it and found the following verses that clearly show, in most cases, that “the cup” is symbolic of God’s judgment, fury, or wrath:

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.”(Isaiah 51:17)

“Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again.” (Isaiah 51:22)

“For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.” (Jeremiah 25:15)

“Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me.” (Jeremiah 25:17)

“And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.” (Jeremiah 25:28)

“For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.” (Jeremiah 49:12)

“Thou art filled with shame for glory: drink thou also, and let thy foreskin be uncovered: the cup of the LORD’S right hand shall be turned unto thee, and shameful spewing shall be on thy glory.” (Habakkuk 2:16)

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.” (Zechariah 12:2)

“The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

“But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized.” (Mark 10:38,39) *(See more information concerning this verse a little further in this post that I marked with an asterisk).

“And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.” (Mark 14:23)

“The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.” (Revelation 14:10)

*If indeed “the cup” symbolized Jesus becoming sin or spiritual death, as some teach, then, as Pastor Tyler Leigeb correctly reasons (in his three part sermon series that I posted for you below regarding the false JDS teaching), the meaning in the passage of Scripture below would then be that the disciples would lose their salvation, and that simply cannot be true:

“But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized.” (Mark 10:38,39)

During the time after I left Harvest I attended another church for a few months, but ended up returning to Harvest (for two more years, all the while praying for change) simply because I couldn’t find a Biblically solid church to attend after something happened at that church that caused me to believe that I couldn’t trust the leadership there either.

Now back to the main topic of this post:

After listening to the second sermon that one Sunday in December of 2017, I quickly messaged one of my dear friends who also (once) appreciated the teachings coming from Duluth Bible Church, and I expressed my deep concerns to her about what I had heard Pastor Dennis Rosker say, as well as what Pastor Greg Durel had said, and I continued to express my concerns with her for the next couple of days. I also made it clear to her that what they were teaching was different in some ways than what the false teachers in the Word of Faith Movement, such as Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, etc., teach. Being the Berean (Acts 17:11) that she is, she contacted Duluth Bible Church via email to ask Pastor Rosker about this to receive clarification on what he had said. Below I have shared her email interaction with one of the pastors at Duluth Bible Church with my friend’s permission, but removed her last name to protect her privacy:

As you can (hopefully) see from Pastor Stegall’s reply to my friend’s email above, even though he makes it abundantly clear that he “categorically rejects the Word of Faith view,” (something I never claimed that Pastor Rosker taught), he admits — without apology–  that the pastors of Duluth Bible Church do hold to a  belief “about the “spiritual” aspect of Christ’s death,” thus admitting that they believe Jesus died spiritually as well as physically. Note also what Pastor Stegall goes on to say concerning what they do believe about the spiritual aspect of Christ’s death:

“….the view we hold and teach is the view held by the vast majority of grace oriented, dispensational, non-charismatic Bible teachers over the last century.”

In the next paragraph Tom Stegall clearly denies that what he and Dennis Rosker “believe about the spiritual aspect of Christ’s death” is a “false view of Christ’s death” after at least one blogger, it seems, took the time to shed light on this teaching in order to expose it as error. One of them being Jim Floyd, the author of the book, ‘The Perfect Sacrifice,’ (which I have linked to below).

What seems like an attempt to discredit Jim Floyd’s Biblically based belief that “Christ died only physically on the cross,” Tom Stegall goes on to say:

“I don’t know of any other Bible teachers of any prominence who holds Jim’s view.”

Tom Stegall then basically accuses Jim Floyd of attacking their ministry and wrongly labeling them as false teachers by saying:

“I’m not sure why Dennis and I have been targeted and labeled with teaching a false view on this subject since the view we hold (and have always held) is simply the mainstream view among sound Bible teachers…”

Dear reader, we cannot base what we hold to believe upon the teachings of men, but rather we are to test the teachings of men against the truth of God’s Word — in context — and compare Scripture with Scripture. No matter how well known and respected a pastor or Bible teacher may be, we must reject everything that does not line up with Scripture.

Throughout Scripture we are urged and shown to test everything in light of Scripture:

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22) (KJV)

“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11) (NIV 1984)

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) (KJV)

God’s Word also shows us that we are to expose error and warns us about those who will falsely teach God’s Word: (Ephesians 5:11, Acts 20:26-31, Romans 16:17,18, 2 Corinthians 11:4, 2 Peter 2:1, 1 Timothy 4:1)

When Jesus’ disciples asked Him about the signs that would signal His soon return and the end of the world, Jesus lists spiritual deception as the first sign:

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”

For Jesus to list deception first should alert us to the importance of being on guard against being deceived.

Even though some who teach that ‘Jesus died spiritually’ (JDS) do not teach that Jesus went to hell, was tormented by demons, and became the first born again man, as those in the Word of Faith movement do, what they do teach contradicts the clear teachings in God’s Word that say it was His shed blood and the physical death of Jesus Christ that provided for our salvation.

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”(Ephesians 1:7)

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:12-14)

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1 Peter 1:18,19)

Jesus did not have to die physically and spiritually. He died once for all. Consider these Scriptures:

“Wherefore he is also able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.” (Hebrews 7:25-27)

“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot  to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.” (Hebrews 9:12-14)

“Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (Hebrews 9:28)

“Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” (Hebrews 10:8-23)

So much more could be said, but since my time is presently rather limited, and since Jim Floyd  did such an excellent job in exposing this JDS teaching by reasoning with many Scriptures in his articles and book, and as Pastor Tyler did, as well, in the same book and in his sermons, there is no need for me to say any more than what I have already shared with you in this post.

I urge you to please take time to read the very thorough teachings by Jim Floyd that expose this heretical ‘Jesus died spiritually‘ teaching so that you are aware of how it perverts the Biblical gospel. I have linked to both of his excellent articles below.

Here also is the book that Jim Floyd just recently finished writing on this topic along with his pastor, Tyler Leigeb:

You can learn more about this book and purchase it, if you’d like, at the link below:

The Perfect Sacrifice

This book goes into great detail concerning the heretical JDS teaching, focusing on many Scriptures, as Jim Floyd does in his excellent and very in depth articles:

Beware of the “Jesus Died Spiritually” Heresy

Jesus Did Not Die Spiritually

I also highly encourage you to listen to the sermon series that Pastor Tyler Leigeb preached on this subject (JDS) at the link further below. He exposes this false teaching with many Scriptures and reasons with Scripture the damaging effects that this teaching has upon the Biblical gospel. If you choose to listen, I pray that you will find (as I did) your faith being renewed and strengthened as you become encouraged by hearing the many Scriptures that he shares and that you will also come to appreciate even more all that Jesus Christ accomplished for us through His sinless life, His willingness to submit to the will of God, His Father, and go through such brutal torture as crucifixion in order to take upon Himself the full wrath of God intended for us because of our sins, and to shed His blood and die in our place, thus fully satisfying God’s wrath and just demands as full payment for all sin –no matter how heinous those sins may be. When the veil/heavy curtain that hung in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38), it clearly showed that God, the Father, accepted the death of Jesus Christ, His Son, as fully providing the way for sinful man to come into His presence and to be reconciled to Himself –a completely Holy God. (Ephesians 3:12, Hebrews 4:15,16, Hebrews 10:19-23)

When Jesus Christ gloriously arose bodily from the dead, it further showed that His physical death was enough to satisfy God’s just demands and wrath that He had towards us because of our sin, proving that His death paid the debt for all sin in full, and that we can know that we have — present tense — eternal life.

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25)

“If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:9-13)

If you are someone who has yet to hear the truly good news of the Biblical gospel and to believe it and place your trust in *Jesus Christ alone for your salvation instead of trusting in your good works or in your church to save you, the many Scriptures shared in this sermon series will definitely reveal who Jesus Christ is to you. This series will also show you the depth of the love that God has for each and every one of us, and the extent that God went through to provide the one and only way for you to receive His love and forgiveness. That one and only way is by placing your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ; the sinless life that He lived so that He would become the Lamb of God — the perfect sacrifice — His horrific death on the cross in our place as He took upon Himself the full wrath of God intended for us because of our sin and guilt, His burial, and His glorious bodily resurrection from the dead for your salvation. *(John 14:6, Acts 12:4, 1 Timothy 2:5, Romans 4:1-8, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:3-7)

NOTE:

Although I am sharing Jim Floyd’s articles and information about his book that he wrote along with Tyler Leigeb, and sharing Tyler Leigeb’s sermons with you, as well, it should not be considered by you to be an endorsement of Jim Floyd, Tyler Leigeb, and Billings Bible Church. Sadly, when I have endorsed pastors, teachers, and ministries to you in the past, I have regretted doing so because of the errors that I have discovered in some of their teachings as time went by.  This is why I no longer endorse anyone on my Living4HisGlory blog anymore. I do, however, highly recommend these resources to you because they line up with Scripture and show this JDS teaching to be completely unbiblical!

I urge each one of you to please be Bereans and constantly test every teaching that you hear and read by every pastor and teacher that you receive your teachings from, making sure that what is said is in context, as well, in order to make sure that what they say lines up with the truth of God’s Word (Acts 17:11). Make sure that you pray for discernment, as well! (Side note: Also pray for discernment whenever you are considering attending a church and make sure to read their statement of faith to find out where they stand on Theological issues to make sure what they believe lines up with Scripture).

“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”(Isaiah 53:1-12)

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6-10)

“Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again. Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you. For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” (Acts 20:25-31)

Thank you very much for stopping by today.

NOTE:

I am so very thankful to my dear friend, Lori, for always earnestly contending for the faith and for telling me about Jim Floyd and the book, THE PERFECT SACRIFICE, that he wrote along with Pastor Tyler Leigeb.

I am also deeply thankful to Jim Floyd not only for the excellent articles that he wrote on this JDS subject, but also for his book, THE PERFECT SACRIFICE, that he wrote along with Tyler Leigeb. This is an extremely important book in defense of the gospel and Jesus Christ’s ‘perfect sacrifice.’ I also truly appreciate Tyler Leigeb for the excellent in depth Biblical sermon series that he preached exposing this JDS false teaching. Their teachings were a true blessing to me at the time I needed them the most, and they will continue to be as we see this unbiblical teaching being accepted by many because they fail to test things in light of Scripture. These teachings will help equip us to defend the Biblical gospel and to help us open the eyes of those who have been led astray by this unbiblical JDS teaching.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

I need to take some time off for the next three weeks for personal reasons and in order to prepare to have my taxes done. Lord willing, in the latter part of April, I will be going back to writing the series in which I began comparing the Catechism Of The Catholic Church to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible in order to reach precious Catholics with the truly good news of the Biblical gospel. When that series is completed I will then finish the series concerning the Alleged Apparitions Of The Virgin Mary and move on to some other important topics. Thank you for your patience.♥

If you keep the above Scripture in mind as you listen to this very good, but rather lengthy examination of Catholicism in light of Scripture given by author and speaker, James McCarthy, who is a former Catholic like I am, you will come to realize that Catholicism does indeed preach another gospel which does not offer precious Catholics any assurance of salvation. When time allows, please prayerfully consider listening so that you can learn what Catholicism actually teaches. When you realize what they are actually being taught, I pray that it would cause you to be filled with love and compassion for your Catholic friends and that God would put an overwhelming desire within you to share the Biblical gospel with them so that they come to see all that Jesus Christ truly accomplished for us through His sinless life, His once for all sacrifice on the cross, His death, burial, and glorious resurrection from the dead. Keep them in prayer with the hope that the day will come when they see the truth and that they will one day place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation, and not in their church and their sacramental system.

I encourage any dear Catholics who may see this to please consider listening to James McCarthy’s in depth teachings, as well. Some of the things that I said in this post may sound harsh to you, but if you would take the time to test the teachings of your church against what God says in His Word, you will come to realize the amazing depth of the love that God has for you and how you can come directly to Him through Jesus Christ, the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5),  the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and the only means by which you can receive forgiveness for your sins in order to have a personal relationship with Him.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

UPDATE:

Lord willing, I hope to finally be able to present you with the next post in the series, ‘Apparitions Of The Virgin Mary, Or Demons In Disguise – Examining The Evidence In Light Of Scripture’ by this Sunday evening, and I am also hoping to have another False Teacher Friday post ready for you by next Friday, March 30th.

Normally I add a pole to each SURVEY SATURDAY post for you and ask you to please vote on a certain question that I present to you, but this time I am going to try something different.

These surveys help me immensely as I prepare to write something, because I don’t want to waste my time writing something that those of you who read this blog from time to time aren’t interested in reading. However, reaching precious Catholics with the truth from God’s Word is my highest priority right now, so you will continue to see posts that expose some of the very concerning teachings that Catholicism presents to their people. Lord willing, as I mentioned to you before, as soon as I finish this present series on the Alleged Apparitions of the Virgin Mary, I will get back to writing posts in which I will continue to compare many of the teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church to a Catholic Bible just to show precious Catholics the errors in their teachings that they need to be aware of. Many of them will come to the point of experiencing a crisis of faith because they will have to decide if they are going to choose to believe the Word of God (the Bible) or continue to place their trust in the word of man (Traditions of the Catholic Church) when they see the truth presented to them and how it contradicts God’s Word.

Most importantly, however, I will be continuing that series in order to reveal to Catholics the truly good news of the Biblical gospel that is hidden from them but made very clear in their Scriptures if only they would read them for themselves and allow God to reveal the truth to them just as He began to do for me back in 1980.

As I also mentioned to you in at least one of my previous posts, my desire is also to begin writing posts in which I will be testing the teachings of Reformed Theology and Calvinism against Scripture after I finish writing the many series that I am presently writing concerning Catholicism. I am neither a Calvinist, nor am I an Arminian –or a Universalist. And I am not a hypocrite as I was basically called recently. Yes, I added a few links to posts written by known Calvinists who were exposing some false teachings or something concerning mysticism, but at the time I shared them I either did not know they were Reformed in their theology, or I simply shared them to give proper credit to them as the source by which I came to discover the serious matter that I posted about. A couple of months ago I went back and removed the post in which I shared teachings by Phil Johnson, Steve Lawson, and another pastor involved with John MacArthur. I had no idea what Calvinism and Reformed Theology taught at the time that I shared some of the things that I did in the past, but after coming to realize how these teachings distort Scripture and oftentimes presents another gospel and another Jesus, as well as perverts the very character of the God of the Bible, I realized that I needed to remove them. When time allows I will go back and delete more videos and remove entire posts so that I do not mislead anyone or cause anyone to think that I am double-minded or hypocritical.

Now for the survey and the new way in which I will present this to you:

For those of you who would be willing to participate, would you please simply leave a comment below and tell me what you would like to see me write about here during this New Year? Or if you’d prefer, please send me a very brief message with your request and I will try to answer you as soon as possible. If time allows me to do so, and if it is something that I agree to do, I would be happy to write about anything that you may find troubling as you seek to walk in truth and follow after Jesus Christ alone in the midst of so much spiritual deception that is out there today.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

~Mary/Living4HisGlory

UPDATE:

I am still doing further research and trying to find time to add more information to my previous post concerning the “sacred heart” of Jesus, but I am rather behind because of other responsibilities and because of encountering another new series of computer problems! Ugh! Technology!

Use this form directly below to contact me privately with your requests. You will find where to share your request publicly by looking further below this form where it says, “Leave a Reply.”

Thank you in advance!

I am sure that many of you can remember at least one time in your life when out of a deep desire to seek after God, you somehow became captivated by some pastor, teacher, or speaker who ended up leading you astray. At the time you truly believed that the person  you placed yourself under in order to come to know God’s Word in a deeper way was a Biblically sound teacher. Then over time red flags began to pop up and then the warnings given to you by the Holy Spirit within you (if you are indeed a genuine follower of the true Jesus Christ of the Bible) made you realize that something was very wrong!

Now to get to my point:

A few of you may remember that back in February of 2016 I shared the testimony of Mishel McCumber of DECEPTION BYTES with you on this→ MYSTICISM MONDAY post. Well, back in October of 2016 Mishel stopped by LIVING4HISGLORY’S FACEBOOK PAGE to let me know:

“…that the full book based on Adrift in the River  of God is now available on Amazon and on Kindle.”

I promised her that I would let those who read my blog from time to time know about her new book, and I have been meaning to do so for quite some time now. So today I finally  decided that a Testimony Tuesday post would be the perfect way to do so!

Please pray for Mishel because it must have been extremely difficult to write a book like ‘The View Beneath’ and to relive the spiritual abuse and deception and heartache that she most certainly went through! However, all of us who have been through similar circumstances can attest to the fact that God always uses  what we have been through to help others who are still trapped in the web of deceit and manipulation. We can also say that God’s grace has been sufficient and His strength is always made perfect in our weakness, for when we are weak, then we are strong. May God use Mishel’s book for His glory to open the eyes of many who have been deceived by false teachers!

Truly we must finally come to  the point of realizing the extreme importance of being a follower of Jesus Christ alone, and to read and study His Word so that we will come to know it so well that we will immediately be able to discern truth from error; we must always test the teachings of every man and woman who claims to speak for God against the truth of God’s Word to see if what is being said (and done) is true or not.  (Acts 17:11)

And now, I present to you the testimony of Mishel McCumber, who is a former  member of Rick Joyner’s Morningstar church:

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” (2 Peter 2:1)

“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”         (Acts 20:26-31)

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” (2 Timothy 4:1)

UPDATE:

I am very sorry that I am still not finished writing my post that will be focusing on the apparitions of the Virgin Mary. There is so much information that I need to share with you that I finally realized the only way I can present it to you without it being extremely long is to make it into another series. Lord willing, I am truly hoping to have Part 1  finished for you by this Sunday evening  as long as I am able to gather up all the information that I will need in order to have my taxes done by Friday evening.

Capture Catholic New Testament Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church pic 1

SERIES INTRODUCTION

There are two very important reasons why I felt compelled to write this series of posts, and I’d like to briefly share these reasons with you now before I go any further:

1) Since I am a former Catholic who is very aware of the teachings of the Catholic Church because I attended twelve years of Catholic school, attended Catechism classes, made my First Holy Communion, was Confirmed, and faithfully attended Mass not only every Sunday for many years, but also before school began for three years (as required by the school that I attended at the time),  and who came to the knowledge of who Jesus Christ truly is and what He actually accomplished for us by reading a Catholic New Testament Bible exactly like the one pictured above, I decided to write this series with the hope of reaching Catholics so that they can not only come to an understanding of who Jesus Christ truly is as His Word, the Bible, declares Him to be, but also so they can see by reading God’s Word that they can have complete forgiveness, lasting joy, true peace, and the assurance of salvation if they choose to believe God’s Word and place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Also, since many Catholics do not realize everything that the Catholic church actually teaches (as I once did not realize until after doing research and reading the CCC), I thought that it was extremely important to share this information to make Catholics aware of many things that are quite disturbing, as you will all soon become aware of as this series continues.

2) This series of posts is also being written with the intention of helping those of you who are born-again, Bible believing followers of Jesus Christ who have no idea of what the teachings of Catholicism are so that you can become aware of their teachings and be prepared to offer hope and assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ to Catholics based solely upon the truth that is recorded in God’s Word.

As we continue on in this series together comparing Scriptures in the Catholic New Testament to teachings found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we must keep these important thoughts in mind:

When it comes to our eternal destination — heaven or hell — we must be certain that we place our trust in solid truth and not in speculation or in the traditions of men. The Catholic church claims to be the “one true Church.” Therefore, it stands to reason that their teachings must line up with God’s Word and not contradict it since God does not change (Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8), and His Word stands firm forever. (Psalm 119:89, Isaiah 40:8, 1 Peter 1:24,25) If a contradiction is found it must be rejected because God’s Word is our plumb line by which we must measure (or test) the teachings of every religion to see if it lines up or not. If it is off in one point we can be certain that it will lead us further and further away from Biblical truth and lead us into spiritual deception.

This series will cover many different subjects ranging from what does the Catholic Church teach about the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, priests, the pope, sin, forgiveness of sins, salvation, prayer, and what must a Catholic believe in order to receive eternal life. Some of these teachings will shock even many Catholics when they learn what their church actually teaches!

Lord willing, I hope to share at least one post every month with you in this new series until I have covered all the most important teachings that need to be brought to your attention. The main goal that I have in writing this series is to present the Word of God to Catholics — and to every person — in order to point everyone to Jesus Christ, who is our only hope and ‘the only name under heaven given among men by which we can be saved.’ (Acts 4:12)

Dear Catholic, please take a minute now to pray, asking God to open your mind to the Scriptures and to reveal the truth to you –whatever that may be.

Because only God can reveal the truth to you, I will refrain from making any comments unless I find it completely necessary. Since God’s Word is truth I trust that He will not only give you eyes to see the truth, but also I trust that He will give you the courage to respond to His leading. However, each one of you will find yourself having to answer this question when you come to many points that I present to you in these posts after realizing that there are oftentimes extreme differences between what the Word of God says and what Catholicism teaches, and the question that you will have to answer is:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

Please keep in mind, as you are carefully reading all of the statements made from the following Catholic sources, that every time you see the word “church” spelled with a capital c they are referring to the Catholic church, since they believe that the “Catholic Church” alone is the “one true Church.”All of the information that I will be sharing with you I have obtained from the following sources:

1) CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (pictured above) – Imprimi Potest – Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (who later became Pope Benedict) – Interdicasterial Commission for the Catechism of the Catholic Church

2) THE WORD OF GOD – THE NEW TESTAMENT OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR  IN TODAY’S ENGLISH VERSION – SACRED HEART LEAGUE EDITION – IMPRIMATUR JOHN FRANCIS WHEALON, ARCHBISHOP OF HARTFORD, APRIL 15, 1971 SIGNED AND SEALED BY BISHOP JOSEPH B. BRUNINI, DIOCESE OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI

3) Occasionally when I share a Scripture with you from the Sacred Heart League (SHL) Catholic New Testament and notice that it lacks depth and clarity, I will then follow it with the same verse but in the King James Version in order to give you a better understanding of what is being said, and so that you can see what is missing from the SHL translation.

4) Very briefly in this series, I will also be quoting from THE CATHOLIC DOUAY RHEIMS VERSION OF THE BIBLE – in which you will find the following statements:

“EXCERPT FROM ENCYCLICAL LETTER OF OUR HOLY FATHER BY DIVINE PROVIDENCE POPE LEO XIII ON THE STUDY OF HOLY SCRIPTURE:

“The God of all Providence, Who in the adorable designs of His love at first elevated the human race to the participation of the Divine nature, and afterwards delivered it from the universal guilt and ruin, restoring it to its primitive dignity, has in consequence bestowed upon man a splendid gift and safeguard–making known to him, by supernatural means, the hidden Mysteries of His divinity, His wisdom, and His mercy. For although in Divine revelations there are contained some things which are not beyond the reach of unassisted reason, and which are made the objects of such revelation in order “that all may come to know them with facility, certainty, and safety from error, yet not on this account can supernatural Revelation be said to be absolutely necessary; it is only necessary because God has ordained man to a supernatural end.” This supernatural revelation according to the belief of the universal Church, is contained both in unwritten Tradition, and in written Books, which are therefore called sacred and canonical because, “being written under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, they have God for their author, and as such have been delivered to the Church.” (Page ix)

“Wherefore it must be recognised that the sacred writings are wrapt in a certain religious obscurity, and that no one can enter into their interior without a guide; God so disposing, as the Holy Fathers commonly teach, in order that men may investigate them with greater ardour and earnestness, and that what is attained with difficulty may sink more deeply into the mind and heart; and, most of all that they may understand that God has delivered the Holy Scriptures to the Church, and that in reading and making use of His Word, they must follow the Church as their guide and their teacher.  St. Irenaeus long since laid down, that where the charismata of God were, there the truth was to be learnt, and that Holy Scripture was safely interpreted by those who had the Apostolic succession.  His teaching, and that of other Holy Fathers, is taken up by the Council of the Vatican, which, in the renewing of the decree of Trent, declares its “mind” to be this–that “in things of faith and morals, belonging to the building up of Christian doctrine, that is to be considered the true sense of Holy Scripture which has been held and is held by our Holy Mother the Church whose place it is to judge of the true sense and interpretation of the Scriptures; and therefore that it is permitted to no one to interpret Holy Scripture against such sense or also against the unanimous agreement  of the Fathers.” (Page xvii)

“Wherefore the first and dearest object of the Catholic commentator  should be to interpret those passages which have received an authentic interpretation either by the sacred writers themselves, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost (as in many places of the New Testament), or from the Church, under the assistance of the same Holy Spirit, whether by her solemn judgment or her ordinary and universal magisterium –to interpret those passages in that identical sense, and to prove, by all the resources of science that sound hermeneutical laws admit of no other interpretation. In the other passages, the analogy of faith should be followed, and Catholic doctrine, as authoritatively proposed by the Church, should be held as the supreme law; for seeing that the same God is the author both of the Sacred Books and of the doctrine committed to the Church, it is clearly impossible that any teaching can by legitimate means be extracted from the former, which shall in any respect be at variance with the latter. Hence it follows that all interpretation is foolish and false which either makes the sacred writers disagree one with another, or is opposed to the doctrine of the Church.” (Page xviii)

“For although the studies of non-Catholics, used with prudence, may sometimes be of use to the Catholic student, he should nevertheless, bear well in mind–as the Fathers also teach in numerous passages –that the sense of Holy Scripture can nowhere be found incorrupt outside of the Church, and cannot be expected to be found in writers who, being without the true faith, only gnaw the bark of the Sacred Scripture and never attain its pith.” (Page xix)

(For PART 2 click HERE).

If you have already read PART 2 in this series, then you now realize that some of the teachings in Catholicism are rooted in mysticism. This fact will become even clearer as we continue going through more of the teachings in the Catechism of the Catholic church –especially one particular teaching that I am about to share with you in this particular post.

My prayer is that God, by His Holy Spirit, will open the eyes of many Catholics so that they will be able to see the serious problems in some of their teachings, and that they will begin seeking God in His Word — the Bible — for the truth.

In this installment we will cover a few more of the main teachings of Catholicism. You will find that many of their teachings line up completely with Scripture. However, you will soon discover that some of their teachings either conflict with Biblical truth, or that they shockingly and totally oppose Biblical truth.

Dear Catholic, just as I presented some serious concerns to you in  PART 1  in this series, I will also be doing the same thing for you in this post. Once again, there will be times when you will be brought to the point of having to make a choice and to answer this very important question:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

All of the Scriptures that I will be sharing with you in this post, unless otherwise noted, will all be taken from the Sacred Heart League Catholic New Testament Bible.

With all of those things in mind, let’s begin:

CHAPTER 2

I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, THE ONLY SON OF GOD

“Moved by the grace of the Holy Spirit and drawn by the Father, we believe in Jesus and confess: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” On the rock of this faith confessed by St. Peter, Christ built his Church.” (CCC Para 424)

By reading the statement above it may almost appear as if the Catholic church has a Biblical view and is stating that Christ built His Church upon what Peter declared concerning Jesus being the Christ, the Son of the living God. (Matthew 16:15-19) However, as we continue to go through the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) you will see that the Catholic church claims that Jesus Christ built His church upon the apostle Peter, and that Peter was the “rock” that Jesus was referring to, and they also claim that by saying these things, Jesus declared Peter as the first pope:

“What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” “Good for you, Simon, son of John!” answered Jesus. “Because this truth did not come to you from any human being, but it was given to you directly by my Father in heaven. And so I tell you: you are a rock, Peter, and on this rock foundation I will build my church, which not even death will ever be able to overcome. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven; what you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven; what you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” (Matthew 16:15-19)

Who better to share what God’s Word has to say about this passage of Scripture, than Richard Bennett, who was once a devout Catholic Dominican priest for 22 years, until he began to read the Bible and discovered the glorious good news of the true gospel:

I’d like to take a few moments now to share some Scriptures with you in order to help you see these things from a Biblical perspective before we move on:

1. “There is none holy as the Lord is: for there is no other beside thee, and there is none strong like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:2) (DRV)

“There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside you: neither is there any rock like our God.” (1 Samuel 2:2) (KJV)

2. “The Lord is my firmament, my refuge, and my deliverer. My God is my helper, and in him will I put my trust. My protector and the horn of my salvation, and my support.” (Psalm 18:2)

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2)(KJV)

3. “For who is God but the LORD? Or who is God but our God?” (Psalm 18:31) DRV)

“For who is God save the LORD? Or who is a rock save our God?” (Psalm 18:31) (KJV)

4. “Unto the end, a psalm for David, in an ecstasy. In thee, O Lord, have I hoped, Iet me never be confounded: deliver me in thy justice. Bow down thy ear to me: make haste to deliver me. Be thou unto me a God, a protector, and a house of refuge, to save me. For thou art my strength and my refuge; and for thy name’s sake thou wilt lead me, and nourish me.” (Psalm 31:1-3)

“In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.” (Psalm 31:1-3)(KJV)

It is clear by these verses (at least in the King James Version) that God alone is the Rock! And, in fact, God’s Word clearly shows us that Jesus Christ — who was revealed to us as God in the flesh in the New Testament — is our Rock:

“For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea. And all in Moses were baptized, in the cloud, and in the sea: And did all eat the same spiritual food, And all drank the same spiritual drink; and they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4) (SHLCNT)

For more verses on God being our Rock, please consider reading this:

KNOWING JESUS – GOD OUR ROCK

“Now let’s continue on:

“At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only Son from the Father…who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever.” To catechize is “to reveal in the Person of Christ the whole of God’s eternal design reaching fulfillment in that Person. It is to seek to understand the meaning of Christ’s actions and words and of the signs worked by him.” Catechesis aims at putting “people…in communion…with Jesus Christ: only he can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity.” (Para 426)

“The name “Jesus” signifies that the very name of God is present in the person of his Son, made man for the universal and definitive redemption from sins. It is the divine name that alone brings salvation, and henceforth all can invoke his name, for Jesus united himself to all men through his Incarnation, so that “there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Para 432)

While most of the above two teachings are quite Biblical because they are based on Scripture (John 14:6, Acts 4:12)  I’d like to take a moment to point out that although the Catholic Church may proclaim “only he [Jesus Christ] can lead us to the love of the Father…,” you will soon see in upcoming installments of this series how their teachings not only make it rather impossible to actually get to Jesus Christ, but also you will sadly see how Catholics are presented with alternative unbiblical ways in an attempt to gain access to the Father, namely through petitioningthe Virgin Mary” and “the saints.”

As I mentioned to you in the previous post in this series, you will soon discover that some of the teachings of Catholicism are rooted in mysticism. Well, the time is now. You are about to see (IMO) the most shocking and disturbing teaching that can be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church! However, before I share it with you, I’d like to share something else with you first:

If any of you listened to Warren B Smith’s message at the recent Berean Call Conference,  you may remember that he mentioned the book entitled, “Called To Be The Children Of God: The Catholic Theology Of Human Deification.” Here are just a few excerpts from a preview of that book that I found on AMAZON.COM:

Capture Called To Be The Children Of God - The Catholic Theology of Human Deification 1

Although in the last paragraph in the capture of the portion above, the author is quick to state, “We are not God,” in his next statement he quotes Jesus as saying, “[Y]ou are gods,” (John 10:34) as describing our sonship. This is why reading a verse in context and testing things that are said in light of Scripture are so extremely important! Let’s look at John 10:34 in context:

“Jesus was walking in Solomon’s porch in the temple, when the Jews gathered around him and said, “How long are you going to keep us in suspense? Tell us the plain truth: are you the Messiah?” Jesus answered, “I have already told you, but you would not believe me. The works I do by my Father’s authority speak on my behalf; but you will not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never die; and no one can snatch them away from me. What my Father has given me is greater than all, and no one can snatch them away from the Father’s care. The Father and I are one.” Then the Jews once more picked up stones to throw at him. Jesus said to them, “I have done many good works before you which the Father gave me to do; for which one of these do you want to stone me?” The Jews answered back, “We do not want to stone you because of any good works, but because of the way in which you insult God! You are only a man, but you are trying to make yourself God!” (34)Jesus answered, “It is written in your own Law that God said, ‘You are gods.’ We know that what the scripture says is true forever, and God called them gods, those people to whom his message was given. As for me, the Father chose me and sent me into the world. How, then, can you say that I insult God because I said that I am the Son of God? Do not believe me, then, if I am not doing my Father’s works. But if I do them, even thought you do not believe me, you should at least believe my works, in order that you may know once and for all that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.” Once more they tried to arrest him, but he slipped out of their hands.” (John 10:23-39)

When Jesus said in verse 34, “It is written in your own Law that God said, ‘You are gods,’ ” He was quoting from Psalm 82:6 which says:

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”

However, by reading the very next verse, Psalm 82:7, we come to clearly understand the intended meaning of verse 6:

“But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.”

In context you can now see that Jesus is not telling them that they are gods.

Here is Matthew Henry’s Commentary on that passage of Scripture:

“It is hard for men to have honour put upon them, and not to be proud of it. But all the rulers of the earth shall die, and all their honour shall be laid in the dust. God governs the world. There is a righteous God to whom we may go, and on whom we may depend. This also has respect to the kingdom of the Messiah. Considering the state of affairs in the world, we have need to pray that the Lord Jesus would speedily rule over all nations, in truth, righteousness, and peace.”

In the quick capture below you will see the terms “deification,” “deifying union,” and “union with God” mentioned, and in the last paragraph you will see how an attempt is made to elevate Moses to be seen in a higher position than God’s Word intends us to see him in:

Capture Called To Be The Children Of God - The Catholic Theology Of Human Deification

On biblestudies.org the Commentary on Exodus Chapter 7 states the following that I quick captured below for you concerning verse 1:

“A god to Pharaoh”: Moses, as the spokesman and ambassador for God, would speak with authority and power. “Thy prophet”: Aaron, as the divinely appointed spokesman for Moses, would forthrightly deliver the message given to him. Acts 14:11-13, where Barnabas and Paul were so perceived in a similar situation. This simply means that Moses would represent the One who sent him to Pharaoh, not that Moses would be God to him.”

capture-exodus-7-verse-1-commentary-biblestudys-org(SOURCE)

Some Catholic writers and theologians are quick to deny that they are saying that man can actually become God. However, what you are now about to see that is stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church clearly says otherwise:

“The Word became flesh to make us “partakers of the divine nature.” For this is why the Word became man, and the Son of God became the Son of man: so that man, by entering into communion with the Word and thus receiving divine sonship, might become a son of God.” The only begotten Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that he, made man, might make men gods.” (Para 460)

This sounds eerily similar to a teaching that can be found in the cult of Mormonism which states the following:

“As man now is, God once was; as God now is, man may become.” (Please also consider watching the video below under Related Videos).

Let’s look at what God’s Word has to say about why Jesus became flesh, and why He came into our world:

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

“Before the world was created, the Word already existed; he was with God, and he was the same as God. From the very beginning, the Word was with God. Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out. God sent his messenger, a man named John, who came to tell the people about the light. He came to tell them, so that all should hear the message and believe. He himself was not the light; he came to tell about the light. This was the real  light, the light that comes into the world and shines on all men. The Word, then, was in the world. God made the world through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own country, but his own people did not receive him. Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God’s children. They did not become God’s children by natural means, by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father. The Word became a human being and lived among us. We saw his glory, full of grace and truth. This was the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son. John told about him. He cried out, “This is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘He comes after me, but he is greater than I am, because he existed before I was born.” (John 1:1-15)

“The same sacrifices are offered forever, year after year. How can the Law, then, by means of these sacrifices, make perfect the people who come to God? If the people worshiping God had been made really clean from their sins, they would not feel guilty of sin any more, and all sacrifices would stop. As it is, however, the sacrifices serve to remind people of their sins, year after year. For the blood of bulls and goats can never take sins away. For this reason, when Christ was about to come into the world, he said to God: “You do not want sacrifices and offerings, but you have prepared a body for me. You are not pleased with animals burned whole on the altar, or with sacrifices to take away sins. Then I said, ‘Here I am, God, to do what you want me to do, just as it is written of me in the book of the Law.’ First he said, “You neither want nor are you pleased with sacrifices and offerings, or with animals burned on the altar and the sacrifices to take away sins.” He said this even though all these sacrifices are offered according to the Law. The he said, “Here I am, God, to do what you want me to do.” So God does away with all the old sacrifices and puts the sacrifice of Christ in their place. Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all made clean from sin by the offering that he made of his own body, once and for all.” (Hebrews 10:1b-10)

“For when we were still helpless, Christ died for the wicked, at the time that God chose. It is a difficult thing for someone to die for a righteous person. It may be that someone might dare to die for a good person. . But God has shown us how much he loves us; it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us! By his death we are now put right with God; how much more then will we be saved by him from God’s wrath. We were God’s enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God’s friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ’s life! But that is not all; we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, who has now made us God’s friends.” (Romans 5:6-11)

“For you know what was paid to set you free from the worthless manner of life you received from your ancestors. It was not something that loses its value, such as silver or gold; you were set free by the costly sacrifice of Christ, who was like a lamb without defect or spot. He had been chosen by God before the creation of the world, and was revealed in these last days for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from death and gave him glory; and so your faith and hope are fixed on God.”     (1 Peter 1:18-21)

“This is how God showed his love for us: he sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him. This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the means by which our sins are forgiven.”       (1 John 4:9,10)

Were you moved to tears of joy and gratitude as you read those passages of Scripture? If not, I pray that God will open your mind to the truth of His Word so that you can grasp the depth of the love that God has for you as He did for me when I first read through the book of Hebrews and Romans and came to realize all that Jesus Christ did for me when He died in my place (and yours) on the cross and took the full wrath that God intended for me (and you) upon Himself for all of my sins (and yours). Such amazing love! To think that Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, would be willing to leave the glories of heaven to come to this earth in order to live a sinless life that we could never live, to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins! To think that He endured the excruciating pain of crucifixion because of our sins, and that He willingly gave His life for us! And to know that His once for all sacrifice was sufficient to satisfy God’s wrath that He has towards us because of our sins, and that Jesus Christ paid the debt for all of our sins in full! Now we can come directly to God through Jesus Christ –if we believe and receive what He did for us and place our trust in Him alone to save us! That is the good news of the true gospel!

Dear Catholic, it is at this point that I must stop and ask you this question as I did in Part 1 of this series:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

Many Catholic priests and nuns promote the practice of Contemplative Prayer and speak and write about mystics of the past such as Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, and others, who go into great detail about their alleged mystical experiences with Jesus Christ. They also speak highly about some of what can only be described as very disturbing messages that they supposedly received from Him. These mystical practices are the very same practices that we are presently seeing coming into Bible believing churches through Spiritual Formation classes! Therefore, Lord willing, in the near future I hope to be able to find enough time to write a post in order to document some of the things that I have just shared with you so that you can see for yourselves how these practices are rooted in Catholicism, but ultimately they are rooted in Hinduism and the occult.

Here is just one example on an Order of Carmelites Catholic Nuns website. Note the list of Carmelite Saints On Prayer and how Teresa of Avila, Brother Lawrence, and others who are known to have practiced these mystical forms of prayer are mentioned. In the last paragraph of the second quick capture below you will see the following words that will show you it’s no longer about having faith in God and having knowledge of Him through reading and studying His Word; it’s all about bypassing the mind in order to have an experience with God:

“It is not enough to know that God loves us; we’ve got to feel that God loves us. Feelings are deeper than knowing –much deeper. The heart is much deeper than the head. And Saint Teresa of Avila tells us that ‘The Great King’ (aka God) is found in the center of one’s heart. That’s what Theresa’s description of prayer is telling us, and that is why it is truly amazing; this description comes straight from the center of her heart.”

Can someone really trust what comes straight from the center of her heart, or from anyone’s heart? Take a moment to read what God’s Word has to say about our hearts:

“The heart is perverse above all things, and unsearchable, who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) (DRV)

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9) (KJV)

No matter how sincere someone may be when they may share with us about an experience they may supposedly have had with Jesus Christ, or an angel, etc., if what they share with us doesn’t line up with the truth presented in God’s Word, we are to reject it and to exhort them to test the spirits, as well as their experiences, against Biblical truth.

I shared this video that a dear Sister-in-Christ (YouTube Channel Psalm86) put together at least once with all of you before, but it’s important at this point to share it with you again…starting at the 24:55 minute mark until the 34:14 minute mark in the following video, you will hear vivid and very disturbing accounts of some of Teresa of Avila’s alleged experiences with Jesus Christ. When time allows, I encourage you to pray for discernment, and then watch the whole video:

Let’s continue on now through the Catechism where we will sadly find another teaching that contradicts Scripture, even though an attempt is made to try and justify this teaching:

“Since the Word became flesh in assuming a true humanity, Christ’s body was finite. Therefore the human face of Jesus can be portrayed; at the seventh ecumenical council (Nicaea II in 787) the Church recognized its representation in holy images to be legitimate.”(Para 476)

“At the same time the Church has always acknowledged that in the body of Jesus “we see our God made visible and so are caught up in love of the God we cannot see.” The individual characteristics of Christ’s body express the divine person of God’s Son. He has made the features of his human body his own, to the point that they can be venerated when portrayed in a holy image, for the believer “who venerates the icon is venerating in it the person of the one depicted.” (Para 477)

In spite of what was decided at the seventh ecumenical council, here is what God’s Word has to say about images:

“Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth.” (Exodus 20:4) (Catholic Douay-Rheims Version)

“Turn ye not to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods. I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:4) (CDRV)

“I  am the Lord your God: you shall not make to yourselves any idol or graven thing, neither shall you erect pillars, nor set up a remarkable stone in your land, to adore it: for I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 26:1) (CDRV)

“Their graven things thou shalt burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver and gold of which they are made, neither shalt thou take to thee any thing thereof, lest thou offend, because it is an abomination to the Lord thy God.” (Deuteronomy 7:5)(CDRV)

“Not to us, O Lord, not to us; but to thy name give glory. For thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake: lest the gentiles should say: Where is their God? But our God is in heaven: he hath done all things whatsoever he would. The idols of the gentiles are silver and gold, the works of the hands of men. They have mouths and speak not: they have eyes and see not. They have ears and hear not: they have noses and smell not. They have hands and feel not: they have feet and walk not: neither shall they cry out through their throat. Let them that make them become like unto them: and all such as trust in them.” (Psalm 115:1-8) (CDRV)

“For the Lord will judge his people, and will be entreated in favour of his servants. The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of men’s hands. They have a mouth, but they speak not: they have eyes, but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not: neither is there any breath in their mouths. Let them that make them be like to them: and every one that trusteth in them.” (Psalm 135:14-18) (CDRV)

“They are turned back: let them be greatly confounded, that trust in a graven thing, that say to a molten thing: You are our god.” (Isaiah 42:17) (CDRV)

“Since we are God’s children, we should not suppose that his nature is anything like an image of gold or silver or stone, shaped by the art and skill of man. God has overlooked the times when men did not know, but now he commands all men everywhere to turn away from these evil ways. For he has fixed a day in which he will judge the whole world with justice, by means of a man he has chosen. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising that man from death!” (Acts 17:29-31)

Dear Catholic, once again I must stop and ask you:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

Here is a teaching in the CCC that is very Biblical:

“Jesus Christ is true God and true man, in the unity of his divine person; for this reason he is the one and only mediator between God and men.” (Para 480)

Many of us will say, “Amen,” to that particular teaching because it lines up with 1 Timothy 2:5 which says,

For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and men together, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself to redeem all men.”

However, please keep the above Scripture in mind, because as we continue going through the Catechism of the Catholic Church we will see another teaching that attempts to add to — and even pervert — the clear finality of the solid truth presented in that verse, and it ultimately robs Jesus Christ of the glory that belongs to Him alone. Actually, Lord willing, we will be addressing some of those teachings in the next installment of this series which, Lord willing, I hope to be able to write and to share with you either by the end of September, or most likely it will be early to mid October.

IN CLOSING:

I pray for those of you who will take the time to read these posts, that you will not only come to realize the extreme importance of testing the teachings of every pastor, teacher, — and priest — against the truth of God’s Word so that you can know if it is true or not, but also, and equally as important, I pray that you will come to realize the extreme importance of thinking for yourselves instead of placing your trust in men by just simply accepting your favorite pastor’s, teacher’s, and priest’s interpretations of Scripture, because where you will spend eternity depends completely upon what you choose to believe, and who you place your trust in.

Only Jesus Christ and the gospel — as revealed in God’s Word — has the power to save you, not any religious system or church. We must be like the Bereans and examine the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said is true or not so that we will not be deceived and end up accepting “another Jesus” and “another gospel.”(Acts 17:11, 2 Corinthians 11:3,4, Galatians 1:6-9)

Thank you very much for stopping by and for taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

~Mary/Living4HisGlory

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God’s power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles.  For the gospel reveals how God puts men right with himself: it is through faith, from beginning to end. As the Scripture says,”He who is put right with God through faith shall live.” (Romans 1:16,17) (SHLCNT)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16,17) (KJV)

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!” (Galatians 1:6-9)

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

“Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God–Jesus, the Son of God. Our high priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy with our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a high priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. Let us be brave, then, and come forward to God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.” (Hebrews 4:14-16) (SHLCNT)

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16) (KJV)

Capture Dangerous Road Ahead

(UPDATED  9/8/16 12:34 p.m.)

INTRODUCTION

Even though I am presently not writing any more Warning You With Tears Wednesday posts, I decided that occasionally I need to alert you to some spiritually dangerous things that are coming up so that no one will be deceived, and so that you will be prepared to warn other Christians who may be easily led astray because they fail to test things against Scripture. Here are a few things that I would like to bring to your attention:

SPIRITUAL DANGER AHEAD FOR SEPTEMBER

1) It was brought to my attention that on this past Sunday, September 4th, 2016, Mother Teresa was declared a saint by Pope Francis:

The following article written by former Dominican priest for 22 years, Richard Bennett, has some very sad and disturbing information about Mother Teresa’s life and her beliefs. They clearly show that she did not have the peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ and the Biblical gospel, and placing one’s trust in Jesus Christ alone for one’s salvation:

MOTHER TERESA LOST SOUL

2) This morning as I was on Facebook for just a few short minutes, I discovered that there is going to be another prayer event taking place tonight in my area which is being presented in the name of “unity.” At this point after doing some research, it is not yet clear what type of churches are gathering together for prayer, but one thing is for sure. God’s Word is very clear about the unity and oneness that He desires..it is based on uniting with those who stand for Biblical truth and not with those who preach “another Jesus” and “another gospel.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4, Galatians 1:6-9)

capture-pray-chicago-9-7-16(SOURCE)

9/8/16 Here is an update for you concerning last night’s Pray Chicago:

I will first begin by saying that many of us who are Bible believing Christians are deeply grieved over the extreme increase in violence in many of our neighborhoods, and heartbroken because of the many innocent men, women, and children who have lost their lives due to gun violence, and we should be praying! However, when it comes to unity and oneness, as Christians we must never give in to compromise –no matter how good the reason for unity may appear to be! Sadly, by what can be seen on PrayChicago’s Facebook page, it certainly appears as though Moody Bible Institute has given in to compromise. In the first quick capture below you will see many people linking hands throughout Moody Bible Institute. In the second quick capture you will see this comment by the writer, Elizabeth Matthews, of FOX32 that should cause you to become concerned :

“Hundreds of people from all walks of life and religions came together Wednesday to simply pray.” (Emphasis is mine).

capture-pray-chicago-people-of-all-religions-linking-hands-at-moody

capture-fox32-news-pray-chicago-hundreds-of-people-from-all-walks-of-life-and-religions-came-together(SOURCE)

PrayChicago was just the beginning of a 77 day prayer campaign and continue throughout a total of 77 communities in the Chicago area.

3) Speaking of prayer events and unity, have you heard about the Mekudeshet Festival that is taking place right now in Jerusalem? It started September 4th and continues until September 23rd. Christians, Jews, and Muslims are gathering together at this event which has been called ‘AMEN–A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL BELIEVERS.’ I will refrain from sharing the many outrageous speculations that many have written about concerning what they believe will take place during this festival, but one thing is certain…we are definitely seeing the One World Religion continuing to form right before our eyes, and it’s all being done in the name of unity.

IS 2016 MEKUDESHET FESTIVAL LEADING TO A ONE WORLD RELIGION?

Please do not allow yourselves to become one of the many who have been deceived by these calls for unity that prey upon your emotions! As believers in Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, we must walk in the truth that is so clearly revealed in God’s Word, the Bible. We cannot have true unity with anyone unless they believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth and lived the perfect, sinless life that we could never life and who died to give His life for all of us because of our sins. We cannot have true unity with anyone unless they believe the Biblical gospel…that Jesus Christ’s once for all sacrifice was sufficient to pay the debt for all of our sins. Each one of us must choose to place our trust in His death as full payment for our sins, and that He arose bodily from the dead proving that His sacrifice was accepted by God and that He was and is God.

Jesus Christ made the bold statement that sets us as Christians apart from all other religions:

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

God’s Word declares Jesus Christ to be the only Mediator between God and men:

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:5,6)

Regardless of these events calling for unity and loving one another by laying aside our differences, God’s Word says the following:

“I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.” (2 John 1:4)

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:3,4)

“Sanctify them through thy truth; thy Word is truth.” (John 17:17)

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

4) Steven Furtick, the pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, is having another Code Orange Revival starting September 9th and continues through September 18th. Some of the speakers include Joyce Meyer, Christine Caine, Craig Groeschel, Carl Lentz, and Louie Giglio:

Capture Code Orange Revival 2016(SOURCE)

With a list of speakers like that who are known to oftentimes twist God’s Word and to preach “another gospel” and “another Jesus,” (Galatians 1:6-9, 2 Corinthians 11:3,4) there can be no true Biblical revival. Just listen to the following video (and the ones that I posted further below) and you will understand why I can honestly say that. Also, when time allows, please consider reading some of the Related Posts further below, and please take a moment to pray for discernment before you do.

Although I do not agree with Chris Rosebrough of Fighting For The Faith on some important theological issues, I respect him and appreciate all that he does as he reviews  sermons and teachings of many popular preachers and teachers in order to help Christians see the extreme importance of testing what they say against Scripture, and to help us all to think Biblically and critically. In the following video, he gives us Biblical evidence to show that Carl Lentz is not qualified to be a pastor:

I was not aware of anything unbiblical concerning Louie Giglio and anything that he had said until I heard many people express their serious concerns about what took place at the Passion Conference in 2012:

Capture Jesus Speak To Me - Passion 2012 Conference(SOURCE)

Louie Giglio was one of the speakers at the Passion 2012 Conference. When I heard it announced that the Passion 2013 Conference was soon to take place, I decided to send out a warning and wrote the following post in order to alert Christians to beware of what may take place at this Conference, as well. When time allows, please consider reading it, as well as the following post in which I shared a lot of information concerning the unbiblical, mystical teachings and practices that sadly are popular today…the same teachings that were presented and done at the Passion 2012 Conference. You will also find information on the following post about author and speaker, Louie Giglio, pastor of Elevation Church, Steven Furtick, pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel, Rolling Meadows, James MacDonaldauthor and speaker, Beth Moore, and others that you need to be aware of:

PASSION 2013 CONFERENCE – WILL THERE BE MORE MYSTICISM

UNCHANGING

I had never heard of Levi Lusko before, until someone brought to my attention the fact that he had preached at my former church, Harvest Bible Chapel, Rolling Meadows. After listening to his sermon and doing some research on him, I saw the need to send out a warning to hopefully reach some people who attend Harvest — and all Christians — so that they see the importance, once again, of ‘examining the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said is true.’ (Acts 17:11) When time allows, please consider reading the serious concerns that one should have about some of Levi Lusko’s teachings that I documented in the final portion of the following post that I wrote last year. This post also includes another sermon review by Chris Rosebrough in which he tests the teachings of  Craig Groeschel  (another speaker at the upcoming Code Orange Revival) against Scripture to clearly point out some of his unbiblical teachings that are in his sermons. The following post also includes important information concerning Steven Furtick, Louie Giglio, information concerning the Passion Conferences in light of Scripture, and more:

HOW DISCERNING ARE YOU?

4) Beth Moore is having another Living Proof live event, and sadly, my former church of 14 1/2 years — Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows — began promoting this to their women way back in  March:

Capture Harvest Women - Beth Moore Live - September 2016

Yes, ladies, I know that Beth Moore has a way of being able to communicate with her audience on a very personal level, and she can make you laugh and even cry when she shares her stories with you, but please keep in mind that God’s Word warns us about spiritual deception and false teachers in the last days. (2 Peter 2:1-3, Romans 16:17, 1 Timothy 4:1-5, 2 Timothy 4:3, Matt. 7:15-20).

Can you honestly say that you test everything that she says at her events and in her books against Scripture as God’s Word shows us that we are to do? (Acts 17:11) (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22) If the pastor and leaders at your church are  among the many who sadly are promoting Beth Moore, when time allows please consider reading the following articles as well as some of the article that I posted the links to further below so that you will come to realize some of the errors in her teachings and some of the dangerous things that she has said:

If anything else comes to my attention that you need to be aware of concerning some of the spiritually dangerous things that are ahead in September, I will continue to update this post for you during the month. I will pin this post near the top of my blog so that you can easily find it.

Now I’ll end this post by sharing a few good things with you in order to encourage you spiritually and to help you become more discerning:

1) If you appreciate the many good authors on the Lighthouse Trails Research Blog and would love to be able to have many of their books but simply can’t afford them all, Lighthouse Trails shows us a way that we can access many of them for free!

2) Lighthouse Trails Research also has a very good booklet out that everyone needs to read, because when it comes to spiritual deception, those who are being deceived do not even realize it. When time allows, I hope that you will consider reading it:

Here are some of the speakers that Steven Furtick chose to give their messages at the Code Orange Revival that took place in 2012. As you can see from looking at the videos below, sadly, Steven Furtick chose known Modalist and Word of Faith/Prosperity preacher T D Jakes to be among those who spoke:

JOYCE MEYER AND OTHER FALSE TEACHERS

Pray and listen very carefully to what Beth Moore says in the following video to see if you can discern what she is actually saying:

When Steven Furtick  made the choice to have Word of Faith preacher and known Modalist speak at his Code Orange Revival back in 2012, that raised serious concerns for many Christians! A Modalist is someone who denies the doctrine of the Trinity — the belief that there are three distinct Persons in the Godhead, and yet only one God — and instead, a Modalist believes that God appeared in three different modes.

My former pastor, James MacDonald, invited T D Jakes to be one of the speakers at his Elephant Room ll Conference back at the end of January 2012, right before the Code Orange Revival. The fact that T D Jakes was declared by all of the pastors that took part in the Conference that night as now having a Biblical view of the Trinity, when he obviously did not, was the main reason that brought me to the point of finally leave Harvest Bible Chapel after 14 1/2 years. Taking a stand for Biblical truth must be that important to us as Christians that we will do whatever it takes to earnestly contend for the faith –even if it means leaving our church and our friends after being there for many, many years.

In the following video you will hear James White review much of what T D Jakes said that night in the Elephant Room ll Conference, and then you decide if Steven Furtick — and James MacDonald — can be trusted as men of God who preach the Word of God without apology and who faithfully protect the people in their church from false teachers.

Note: Even though I strongly disagree with James White and the position that he holds concerning reformed theology because these teachings do not line up with Scripture, I respect him and appreciate all that he does, especially when he debates Catholic theologians and Muslims. I deeply appreciate him for making this video which is how I came to realize that what took place that night during the Elephant Room ll Conference was not honoring to God in the least bit because they failed to address T D Jakes concerning his heretical Word of Faith teachings, and they left all in attendance that night to believe that T D Jakes now holds to the Biblical understanding of the Trinity when he does not.

Please be sure that you pray for discernment whenever you listen to any pastor or teacher share God’s Word with you so that you will never be deceived!

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”                       (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.” (2 Peter 2:1)

“Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men. Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” (Acts 20:26-31)

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” (Matthew 7: 13-15)

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men. after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

UPDATE:

Although I have been trying to finish the next post in my new series (in which I am comparing the teachings found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church to the Catholic Bible in order to reach Catholics with the truly good news of the gospel), I am sorry to say that I will not be able to finish it by the end of the month as I had hoped, which, as hard as it is to believe, is today. Not only did I have to take care of some important business matters this month, but also because of all the research that I found necessary to put into this particular installment, I now realize that I will need at least another week in order to finish it. So I decided to spend some time putting this post together for you since it has been so long since I have written something to share with you besides a few Sermon Sunday posts.

I hope you learned from reading this post just how extremely importance it is to test everything that your favorite pastors and teachers are saying against the truth of God’s Word –the Bible. God has given us His very Words, so never lose sight of that amazing truth! Never grow tired of reading it, and never seek to have an “experience with God” as many Christian leaders are now leading you to believe that you can have. By doing so they are basically telling you that God’s Word is not sufficient, and they are leading many Christians who lack discernment right into the world of the occult!

UPDATED 9/2/16 12:06 a.m., UPDATED 10:59 a.m., UPDATED 9:24 a.m., UPDATED 8:45 a.m., UPDATED 7:52 a.m., UPDATED 7:00 a.m.) I have the day off today, so I will be taking a lot of time throughout the day to continuously update this post by adding the information that I lost yesterday until it is completed. Then I will delete these added notes concerning the times that I posted all of the “UPDATES” and add them to the bottom of this post instead.
(UPDATE: 9/1/16) I spent all my free time today updating this post with a lot of information, and unfortunately my computer just crashed and all of the changes that I made to this post weren’t saved, and they were not among the only two revisions that were saved in the WordPress memory. Lord willing, when time allows, I will work on this post tomorrow and just continue to hit the “Update” button so this never happens again. I added a few updates to this post now, but it’s too late to do any more since my day begins at 3:50 a.m. tomorrow.

Capture Eyes with tears 1

Welcome to another post in the series of posts that I have entitled, Warning You With Tears Wednesdays. Lord willing, at least once a month on Wednesdays I will be writing and sharing one of these posts with you so that I can make you all aware of some important information that I come across on the Internet that you may not have heard about.

Since I knew that I would soon be starting a new part-time job (which I  started in June) and that my free time would then be somewhat limited, I was trying to think of something that I could write on a regular basis that would be short and to the point (at least that was my intention). And since I am a detective-at-heart and desire to make you all aware of the importance of testing things that pastors and teachers say (and do) in light of Scripture (Acts 17:11), the idea to do these posts — as well as the name — came to my mind in November of 2014, based on Acts 20:26-31:

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”

So with all of that in mind, here is what I’d like to share with you in today’s WARNING YOU WITH TEARS WEDNESDAY:

1) The Herescope Blog has another installment in the series of reviews by Pastor Larry DeBruyn on the book, The Physics of Heaven. Here is but a small portion of his review that I quick captured for you. Please consider reading this, as well as many other of Pastor Larry’s reviews and the many other important and very well written and thoroughly researched articles on Herescope when time allows so that you can become well informed concerning what is taking place these days in the name of Christianity: Above all, please make sure that you are constantly testing the teachings of all whom you listen to in light of Scripture so that you will never be deceived.

2) While reading the above article, the thought of Beth Moore and the message that she presented at James Robison’s Awaken Now Conference (that I warned you about in A PREVIOUS POST ) immediately came to mind. At that conference she spoke about an “outpouring” that she believes God told her is coming:

Here are those video again:

3) Warren Smith has another very good article that was posted on Lighthouse Trails today. You can just sense the deep passion and concern that he has through his words! This would be my question, as well, and I am sure that many of you would agree as we watch in disbelief as so many Christian leaders today are embracing and even promoting a counterfeit Christianity! I refuse to remain silent, and hope that you will stand with me and earnestly contend for the faith!

ARE CHRISTIAN LEADERS LEADING THE CHURCH DOWN THE BROAD ROAD OF DELUSION?

4) Here is another Suggested Post that Facebook thought I may be interested in:

Capture Facebook Suggested Post - IHOP Onething 2015

My interest in regards to the International House of Prayer is solely out of extreme concern! And the following videos will clearly show you why. Pray for discernment and test what is said and done by the people in the following videos against Scripture, to see if you can discern if it is true or not. (Acts 17:11)

5) John Lanagan of MY WORD LIKE FIRE, continues to expose the spiritually deceptive roots of A.A. by sharing some disturbing information concerning A.A.’s  co-founder, Bill Wilson:

SWEDENBORG, A.A. AND CELEBRATE RECOVERY

6)Many churches these days are presenting Spiritual Formation classes and incorporating teachings on this in their sermons, as well, which is why I have been warning you about it so frequently! In the following article, Lighthouse Trails Research Project poses this vital question: “Is There A “Good” Spiritual Formation?” I strongly urge you to please consider reading this article when time allows so that you will not be deceived by this teaching, because if it is not already in your church, it may very well be in the very near future!

A VITAL QUESTION: IS THERE A “GOOD” SPIRITUAL FORMATION?

7) I’ll end with the following video to give God all the praise and glory that He is so deserving of:

Finally! A Christian movie that we as Christians can actually support because it appears to truly presents a Biblical, God-honoring message!

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

UPDATE:

Last weekend I met with some friends which did not give me enough time to finish my post on mysticism that I have been telling you about. Lord willing, I am hoping to finally finish it by this coming Monday evening. I’m so very sorry that it is taking me so long to finish. Your prayers would be appreciated as I try to complete it this weekend.

Thank you! 🙂

worship-4-3-1Welcome to another ‘TESTIMONY TUESDAY.’ Lord willing, at least once a month on Tuesdays, whenever I come across a video or an article that either presents a Biblical testimony of someone coming to the understanding  of the true  gospel, or a testimony of someone who was set free from a cult or some form of spiritual deception, etc., I will post it for you with the hope that it will bless and encourage you, and, above all, so that God would receive glory and honor for setting these people free.

It is also my hope and prayer that when I share these testimonies with you on Tuesdays, God will use His Word, and the Biblical truth presented in these testimonies to set many other people free from the same bondage and spiritual deception that the people in the videos and articles I choose to share with you have been set free from.

And now for today’s TESTIMONY TUESDAY:

Below you will find a Playlist of an interview with the very detailed testimony of Sandra Tanner, who is the great-great-granddaughter of Brigham Young, the second president of the  Mormon Church. In the next video you will hear a  shorter version of her testimony, followed by a time of Q&A.

You will hear Sandra share in detail, her struggles as she was continually presented with information that caused her to question her Mormon beliefs. She was first presented with many of the sermons that Brigham Young himself had preached which ultimately led her to take a serious look at Mormonism and its history.

As time went on she was presented with Biblical truth and her eyes were opened to see that the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. She also came to understand God’s love by reading 1 John 4:9,10.

During her presentation you will also hear her share some of the beliefs of Mormonism, but she presents them in a loving way as to be sensitive to the fact that there are possibly some Mormons in attendance. Her goal is always to glorify God and to present Mormons with truth based on documented evidence from multiple sources to make the facts speak for themselves. She also presents many Scriptures in her presentations trusting that God will open the minds of many Mormons to the truth that is clearly revealed in His Word.

I pray that you will be blessed by her testimony, and that it will cause you to be filled with compassion for the many Mormons who are truly sincere about their beliefs and their desire to serve God, but who are sincerely deceived. I pray also that hearing her testimony will lead you to reach out in love and share Biblical truth with a Mormon when God gives you the opportunity to do so when they come knocking at your door.

If you are a Mormon with questions, please consider visiting Sandra’s  website that she and her husband started on January 1, 1983 –  UTAH LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRY, which ‘documents problems with the claims of Mormonism and compares LDS doctrines with Christianity,’ as well as shares the testimonies of many other former Mormons. Sandra’s husband is now with the Lord, but you can read about their ministry on their  ABOUT US page. You will also find many ONLINE RESOURCES that will help answer any questions you may possibly have concerning the teachings of Mormonism.

Above all, if you are a Mormon I pray that you will take the time to test the teachings of Mormonism against the truth of God’s Word and think for yourself, because your eternal destiny is at stake. I also pray that you will consider listening to Sandra Tanner’s testimony. Your devotion to serve God to the extent that you all do is truly admirable, but don’t you want to know for certain that what you believe is really true, based on facts and not on your feelings; the burning in the bosom?

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

~Mary Dalke/Living4HisGlory

“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” (1 Timothy 4:16)

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through Him all things were made; without Him  nothing was made that has been made.  He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.  He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.  Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:1-3,10-13)

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17)

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.   After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.  So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.  For to which of the angels did God ever say,  ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father?’ (Hebrews 1:1-5)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:9,10)

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith –and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not of works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.  How much more then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.” (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“Therefore brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body,  and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:19-23)

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:15-17)

“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11)

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.” (2 Peter 2:1)

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1,2)

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
