Today will be the first in a new series of posts which I will do once a month, (Lord willing) on the last Saturday of each month, to give those of you who read this blog an opportunity to submit your requests as to what you would like to see me address on this blog in the future. Would you like me to write more poems? Then please vote and consider leaving me a comment as to what topic you’d like me to write one about, and I will consider writing on that topic which I will always write from a Christian perspective.

Do you have some concerns about a certain pastor or teacher, or something they are teaching? Then please vote and leave a comment as well, and I will be happy to do some research on that pastor, teacher, or topic, and focus on that particular person or teaching in an upcoming post. Or I may simply write briefly about the person or teaching and then include links to some good posts addressing that person or teaching that have been written by other Christians who are well respected and trusted. However, I continue to urge you to always  test everything you read and hear against God’s Word to see if it is true or not (Acts 17:11) –including everything that I write.

Maybe you have some concerns after reading a certain book that left you feeling very troubled, and you’re searching for some information on the author to see if what they are teaching is Biblical or not. Share your concerns and the name of the author and book, and I will do some research and write a post addressing the author and book in question. I am considering the possibility of writing some book reviews later this year –if time allows. I am not an expert on any certain topic, by any means, but I am definitely a Berean and a detective-at-heart and will gladly do all that I can — with God’s help — to give you some helpful information to put those troublesome thoughts to rest, and to encourage you in the process.

So please take a minute and vote at the poll I posted below, and leave me a comment, as well!

Thank you very much for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking some time out of your busy day to read my posts and poems!

God bless you!

For those of you who are Christians and you’re finding yourself struggling with the decision if you should or shouldn’t go and see Darren Aronofsky’s ‘NOAH,’ I thought I’d post this live movie review (at least it’s ‘live’ at the time I’m writing this) and other videos and links to articles concerning the ‘NOAH’ movie that I thought might help you make your decision.

There are many conflicting reports out there, some even given by popular Christian leaders.  However, because I know Ken Ham and those he chose to be a part of this review panel will give you a very Biblical and accurate review, I am hoping that by watching this review, as well as watching the other videos with very Biblical information that I posted for you,  that you will then finally be able to make your decision.

If you do decide to go and see it, you will then know for yourself who has given the most honest and accurate review.  Yes, they were given artistic license, but they claimed to stay true to the Biblical text.  And according to the many who have seen it, as you will see from the information posted below, that is simply not true.

We live at a time, as the Bible declares, when many scoff at the idea that Jesus will actually return, and many also choose to believe in the theory of evolution as a fact.  We also live at a time when everything that God calls evil, many now embrace as acceptable and normal.  And that describes exactly what the Bible says will be man’s thoughts and behavior right before Christ returns!

Time for everyone to think about their eternal destiny and to take God at His Word and repent, because tomorrow is promised to no one!

God bless you, and thank you for stopping by.  And thank you also for taking time to read my posts and poems.

“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And it repented the LORD that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him at His heart.  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them.  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.”  (Genesis 6:5-8) KJV

“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.”  (Genesis 7:1) KJV

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”  (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

“First of all , you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires.  They will say,  “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised?  Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”  But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s Word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and with water.  By water also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.  By the same Word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.  But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.  The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.  Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?  You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.  That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.  But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.  So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless, and at peace with Him.”  (2 Peter 3:3-14)

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.  Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.  This is the verdict:  Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.  Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.  But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”          (John 3:16-21)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.  This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”  (1 John 4:9,10)

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”  (Acts 17:11)

Are you a Berean? Do you examine the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (by those who claim to speak for God) is true? I know that many of you are. And for those of you who are small group leaders, the TWELVE CONFERENCE  will be streamed online — free of charge — after you register. So get ready to test all that the speakers will say against the truth of God’s Word, as God’s Word clearly shows us to do (Acts 17:11), and warn those who follow some of these men who distort God’s Word of any concerns you become aware of. I pray that many of you who are small group leaders — who are very trusting and have good intentions, and yet have been deceived — will wake up to the truth of what is actually taking place in many small groups today.

Are you involved in a small group at your church? Then you need to be aware of the reasons that some of these small groups exist. In the videos  posted below, you can hear for yourself what some of their intentions are.

In the first video below, you will clearly hear what Rick Warren says about small groups. And that should be a red flag to all of you of the purpose of many (but hopefully not all) small groups today.

“The heartbeat of the church is the small groups.  If you don’t have small groups in your church, you don’t have anybody to carry your vision in a practical way.” –Rick Warren

Many pastors use the information presented in small groups to instill their agenda/vision into those who attend these small group sessions. So learn to think critically. And if you are in a small group, make sure you think Biblically, as well as critically. Are the ideas presented in your small groups, Biblical? Or do the ideas presented at your small groups present worldly, philosophical ideas? Do they promote your pastor’s ideas that attempt to grow the church by means of marketing strategies for success? Or do they solely rely on God to grow the church, as Scripture teaches? Do they encourage you to dig deeper into God’s Word to help you grow in the depth of your commitment to Christ, and in your encouraging one another along in the circumstances you face in life? Or is everything rooted in your pastor’s ‘vision’ and strategies that appeal to the sinful nature of man?

So, if you presently attend a small group, please keep all these things in mind the next time you go. And be sure to pray before you go there, asking God to give you wisdom and discernment to know what is actually being said, and to show you if it all lines up with Scripture or not.

“TWO CONFERENCES, ONE FOCUS: CHANGE THE WORLD” (Hmm…where have we heard that expression before,  just recently? How about in the ‘purpose driven’  History Channel’s miniseries –‘The Bible’).

TWELVE WILL TRANSFORM THE WAY YOUR CHURCH DOES SMALL GROUPS, SUNDAY SCHOOL AND ADULT EDUCATION”

“APRIL 9th -11th and April 13th TWELVE ONLINE CONFERENCES

The speakers will be as follows: Steven Furtick, Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Craig Groeschel, Miles Mcpherson, Brian Houston, Wayne Cordeiro, John Ortberg, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Chip Ingram.

Under ‘Track Choices,’ you will see the following that gives cause for concern:

TRACK CHOICES: 1.Essentials Track Pick this Track if you haven’t attended one of our small group conferences before, or would like a refresher.

Saddleback’s small group pastor, Steve Gladen, teaches the transferable principles that God has used to create one of the most successful small group ministries in the United States.  This is a model that has been successfully used in churches and all denominations of all sizes around the world.

Under Point 2, the ‘WORK IT OUT TRACK,”  it states the following:

“Panel discussions include Pastors sharing their ideas and experiences in the following areas:

  • Challenging issues small groups face

  • The cutting edge of the future of small groups

  • Emerging trends  SOURCE

It certainly makes a Berean wonder what will be discussed during these sessions.  Maybe, how to deal with people who raise objections to the Pastor’s ‘vision?’  And what, may I ask, could be the “cutting edge” and the “emerging trends” for small groups?  One can only wonder —  and even cringe — at the possibilities!

Time for all Bereans to be in prayer, continuing to seek God in His Word more than ever before, and being a voice of warning using His Word to expose the spiritual deception and manipulation that continues to penetrate the church.God bless you, and thank you for stopping by and reading my posts and poems.

RELATED VIDEO WITH IMPORTANT INFORMATION

As you can hear in the video posted above, (1/6/14 I’m sorry…just noticed this video is now made ‘private,’ and unfortunately there is no other copies of this video to post) Pastor James MacDonald, senior pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows, thinks very highly of Beth Moore, and calls her studies “pretty phenomenal.”   And because I have recently learned that Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows (my previous church for almost 15 years) is presently featuring a Beth Moore book as their focus for one of their ‘small groups,’ (and they have also chosen many of her books in the past –and probably presently — as the topic for some of their Bible Studies, as well) I found it now necessary to be one among many others who are expressing their concerns about Beth Moore to warn those of you who are avid followers of hers, the importance of testing what she says against Scripture.

As many solid Bible teachers say, “The first key to proper Biblical interpretation is context, context, context!”  We must not take a person’s word for what a certain passage means, but rather go to Scripture and read the surrounding verses as well, in order to get a clear and proper understanding of what that text is actually saying.

Beth Moore is definitely a gifted speaker, but those of us who are Christians are commanded to ‘test all things,’ and to ‘hold fast to what is true.’  (1Thessalonians 5:21,22)

We are also shown in Scripture to ‘test what is said by those who claim to speak for God against Scripture to see if what is being said is true’:

“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11)

So with that in mind, I plead with those of you who have been caught up into Beth Moore’s teachings and captivated by her charming personality and who consider yourselves to be one of her faithful followers, to pray for discernment and please listen to Chris Rosebrough of ‘Fighting For The Faith’ and ‘Pirate Christian Radio,’ as he gives his Biblical analysis of one of her messages in the video posted at the link below.  Please be sure to open up your Bible and follow along to see if what is being said is really true:

SCRIPTURES FOR YOU TO FOCUS ON

“I appeal to you , brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.  My brothers, some from Cloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.  What I mean is this:  One of you says,  “I follow Paul”; another,I follow Apollos”;  another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.”  Is Christ divided?  Was Paul crucified for you?”                                         (1 Corinthians 1:10-13)

“Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly–mere infants in Christ.  I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it.  Indeed, you are still not ready.  You are still worldly.  For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?  Are you not acting like mere men?  For when one says,  “I follow Paul,”  and another,  “I follow Apollos,”  are you not mere men?  “What, after all, is Apollos?  And what is Paul?  Only servants through whom you came to believe–as the Lord has assigned to each his task.  I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.  So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.  The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.  For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.  By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it.  But each one should be careful how he builds.  For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:1-11)

“We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.  For He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying,  “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased.”  We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the sacred mountain.  And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.  Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation.  For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”  (2 Peter 1:16-21)

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.  The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful Word.  After He had  provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.  SO He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.  For to which of the angels did God ever say,  “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.”  (Hebrews 1:1-5)  (Since this is such a powerful passage of Scripture that speaks so much Biblical truth –and one of my favorites, as well–I decided to post more than just the portion of this passage that applies to Beth Moore, which I will elaborate upon at a later time –Lord willing — if time allows).

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”           (Galatians 6:14)

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge:  Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:1-4)

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.  For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or of you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

“For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ.  And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light,  It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness.  Their end will be what their actions deserve.”        (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

“Watch out for false prophets.  They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.  By their fruit you will recognize them.  Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?  Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.  “Not everyone who says to Me,  ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.  Many will say to Me on that day,  ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’  Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you.  Away from Me you evildoers!'” (Matthew 7:15-23)

“But there were also false prophets  among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.  They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves.  Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up.  Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.”            (2 Peter 2:1,2)

“Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men.  For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.  Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers.  Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood.  I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.  Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard!  Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”  (Acts 20:26-31)

JUDGING

For those of you who may accuse me of judging Beth Moore, I want you to know that even though we as Christians are not to judge a person’s heart or their intentions, we are supposed to judge/test what she says — as well as what others say, who claim to preach and teach God’s Word — in light of Scripture, and we are also to expose those who teach false doctrines.  Again, I will cite these verses: Acts 17:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:21,22

“Stop judging by mere appearances and make a right judgment.”               (John 7:24)

“I have written to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people–not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters.  In that case you would have to leave this world.  But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler.  With such a man do not even eat.  What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church?  Are you not to judge those inside?  God will judge those outside.  “Expel the wicked man from among you.” (1 Corinthians 5:9-12)

Lord willing, I will post more information on Beth Moore concerning her promotion of ‘mysticism’ some time in the future, but now I am trying to finish the poem I am presently writing, entitled: ‘RISE UP!’
