Capture Eyes with tears 1Welcome to another post in a new series of posts that I will be doing (Lord willing) at least once a month on Wednesdays so that I can make you all aware of some important information that I come across on the Internet that you may not have heard about. I have been trying to think of something that I could write on a regular basis that would be short and to the point (at least I’ll try to be), and since I am a detective-at-heart and desire to make you all aware of the importance of testing things that pastors and teachers say (and do) in light of Scripture (Acts 17:11), the idea to do these posts — as well as the name — came to my mind in November of 2014, based on Acts 20:26-31:

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”

So with that in mind, here are some of the things I’d like to make you all aware of on this Wednesday:

At the end of January 2015 there was another ‘AWAKENING REVIVAL.’ When time allows, consider watching the following videos and test everything that was said at this revival — and how it was presented — in light of Scripture, and keep these questions in mind: Would you classify what took place at Celebration Church as a revival? Or would you simply classify it more as entertainment? Was God the one who received the praise at this revival? Or was the focus on the pastors who spoke at this ‘revival?’

The theme of Perry Noble’s message was, “Stop allowing the world to #hashtag you.” The passage of Scripture he based his message on was from Matthew 11:28 which he finally got around to reading when he was 22:47 minutes into his message. He introduced this Scripture by saying, “These are words from a guy named Jesus. I love his stuff.”  *Sigh* :/

When trying to warn other Christians about the false teachings of certain popular pastors and teachers, sadly, the most frequent reply we end up receiving from them is, “Don’t judge.” But does the Bible really tell Christians we are not to judge? Answers in Genesis has a good article HERE that is filled with many Scriptures to give you a clear Biblical understanding about making judgments.

Here is a post packed with many Scriptures concerning the Trinity that should have been presented to T D Jakes at ER2! Great information also to have on hand when trying to share Biblical truth with Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons when they come to your door. Please don’t close the door in their faces! Give them at least a few minutes of your time because they need someone who will care enough to share the truth in love with them. Only the truth of God’s Word can shatter the darkness and deception that holds them captive. Sharing your testimony is also a powerful way to present the truth to them. God will use it to plant a seed in their heart, and your loving words will not be forgotten.

Did you ever wonder, “How could Noah fit the animals on the ark and care for them?” Well ‘Answers In Genesis’ has an article that can help you with that. And you can read it right HERE

If you’re concerned about how the occult is influencing your children because of the many books, video games, movies, and t.v. programs that are saturated with occultic messages, Lighthouse Trails has a new booklet written by Berit Kjos that will help you learn how to protect your children. You can read it HERE.

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems. God bless you!

    ********************************************************************************

Well, another revival is about to take place, and once again we see some of the same names appearing on the schedule as we have seen in many other revivals and conferences in the recent past:  T D Jakes, Steven Furtick, Judah Smith, and Israel Houghton, as well.  And once again, many of us have valid reasons to be filled with concern.

If you choose to attend the AWAKENING REVIVAL,’ or to watch it  if it’s available online, please keep the Scriptures below in mind as you do, and please consider watching the videos below, as well.  Ask yourself if the focus of the ‘AWAKENING REVIVAL’ is on Christ and turning from sin, or is it focused on something or someone other than Christ.  And please make sure that you test all that is said and done in light of Scripture:

“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”  Acts 17:11

“Test everything.  Hold on to the good.  Avoid every kind of evil.”  (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22)

True revival begins by a move of the Holy Spirit on a person’s heart to repent of sin.  A move of God cannot be manufactured or scheduled.

**UPDATED 1/11/13  ADDED STOVALL WEEMS VIDEO AND LINK TO CHRIS ROSEBROUGH’S ANALYSIS OF A STOVALL WEEMS SERMON** Stovall Weems, lead pastor of Celebration Church, will be hosting this revival.  If you’d like, you can listen to Chris Rosebrough and his Biblical analysis of one of Stovall Weems sermons that starts in Hour 2 @1:21:49 here> INTOLERANCE OF TOLERANCE     Once again, be sure to test everything in light of Scripture.

If you’d like, you can also watch the following video of Stovall Weems who was one of the guest speakers at C3 2012.  In opening, he says the following to all in attendance, starting @3:35…

“I was fasting, and it’s interesting, God spoke to me this word that I’m gonna share tonight.  He spoke to me this word for C3 conference-the message I’m gonna speak tonight…I preached this same passage before, but I’ve never preached this message.”

So, if this message truly is from God, then it should line up to His Word.  Pray for discernment, and see if you think his message is from God, and if the words he uses is befitting of a man/pastor who is supposed to be speaking God’s Word.

TRUE REVIVAL AND CONCERNS

In the following videos, you will hear Leonard Ravenhill say some very soul-stirring things concerning genuine repentance and revival…

**ADDED 1/13/13**  However, can true revival take place when the pastors who will be leading this revival are known by many to have some unbiblical teachings and even some heretical beliefs?

On DAY 1 of the ‘AWAKENING REVIVAL’ T D Jakes will be preaching.  Please take the time to listen to James White point out the serious and valid concerns many have about T D Jakes.  Also, please consider watching the following videos of T D Jakes and Steven Furtick from the Code Orange Revival that took place in January of 2012, as well as a very good Biblical analysis of Steven Furtick’s message by YouTube user, Bezel333…

On DAY 2 of  the ‘AWAKENING REVIVAL, ‘Steven Furtick, pastor of ELEVATION CHURCH will be preaching.  His message at ‘CODE ORANGE REVIVAL’ is not available on YouTube.  However, a Biblical analysis of his message is:

BIBLICAL ANALYSIS OF STEVEN FURTICK’S MESSAGE AT CODE ORANGE 2012

Many have concerns about Steven Furtick because of his promotion of T D Jakes, as well as other ‘Word-Faith’ preachers, such as Joel Osteen.  (If you’d like to read about the heretical teachings of the Word-Faith movement, please consider reading this article by Pastor Gary E. Gilley of Southern View Chapel>> THE WORD-FAITH MOVEMENTBY GARY GILLEY)

If any of you watched the ‘Code Orange Revival’ that took place in January of 2012 at Steven Furtick’s Elevation Church, then I’m sure some of you are aware of how it was everything but a genuine revival.  Many of us watched in horror as Scripture was twisted as you will clearly hear in the following video…

Some of us also cringed as many of them praised each other and their ministries instead of having their focus on Jesus Christ,  and pointing those in attendance to the fact that we are all wretched sinners and can only be saved by repenting from sin and placing their trust completely in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus when He died in our place on the cross.

There was no exegetical preaching of God’s Word –except for Matt Chandler’s message (posted below) that ‘mysteriously disappeared’ from Elevation Church’s website for a time, possibly due to the strong exhortation by Matt Chandler to those who made the Scriptures about themselves by reading themselves into the text, as we saw take place that night.

As I watched the CODE ORANGE REVIVAL, I was grieved along with many of you.  There was so much laughter during that ‘revival,’ that is appeared as a week of entertainment instead of a true revival, and therefore this verse came to mind:

“Submit yourselves, then, to GodResist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come near to God and He will come near to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  Grieve mourn and wail.  Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”  (James 4:7-10)

Will the ‘AWAKENING REVIVAL’ be another ‘CODE ORANGE REVIVAL?’   Only time will tell.  I pray those of you who are planning on attending will pray for discernment and test all you will hear and see against the truth of God’s Word (Acts 17:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:21,22) so you will not be deceived.

God bless you and thank you very much for stopping by and taking time to read some of my posts and poems.
