Capture Leonard Sweet picture 1

Leonard  Sweet, the importance of testing the teachings of Christian leaders in light of Scripture, mysticism in the church, as well as the lack of spiritual discernment among many Christians today will all be focused on in this post. However, please allow me to begin this post by laying out the trail that led to Leonard Sweet, and made me clearly see the need to write this post:

Capture Angel of light - clouds and sun's rays

God’s Word declares that Satan comes as an angel of light, so is it any wonder that so many are being deceived by popular mystical teachings that are being presented to Christians these days claiming to draw them closer to God and to experience Him on this side of heaven? After all, those of us who are Christians long for the day when we will see Him face to face, so why not experience being in His presence and hearing Him speak to us now? If you have been led to believe that by listening to someone’s teaching, it is unbiblical and dangerous! When we begin to seek after having experiences with God and lose sight of the fact that God gave us His Word so that we might come to know Him, and how His Word warns us time and time again about false teachers and doctrines of demons, then we allow ourselves to become easily deceived by the many so-called Christian leaders who are promoting mysticism these days. Things such as Contemplative Prayer, Spiritual Formation, and silent prayer, are strongly being promoted by Christian leaders such as Rick Warren, Beth Moore, Tim Keller, Mindy Caliguire, and many others. They may attempt to cloak these practices with somewhat Christian terminology, but don’t be fooled; they are still unbiblical eastern practices that have their roots in Buddhism and Hinduism and will lead you away from Biblical Christianity and into spiritual deception and the occult.

Praying for spiritual discernment, knowing God’s Word well, testing things in light of Scripture, and searching for information on things that are presented to you that cause you to have uneasy feelings, are key to protecting yourself from being deceived spiritually. I highly recommend Lighthouse Trails, Herescope, Deception In The Church, as well as Apprising Ministries, but I still urge you to continue to test everything you read and listen to against the truth of God’s Word since, sadly, so many Christians are drifting from Biblical truth these days!

Let’s start out with a few examples so you can see how deceptive the language can be at times: To make a long story short, last month (June 2015) I decided to search Rick Warren’s Saddle Back Church’s website to see if he had anything to say concerning the legalization of same sex marriage that was voted into law on Friday, June 26, 2015, but when I found nothing on that topic I decided to check out the classes that they are offering. Below you will see a few examples of what I found:

Even though I cannot say with certainty that the term strengthening postures that they use in the following description of this ‘Stretch and Strengthen’ class is actually yoga, that term certainly sent up a big red flag and set off alarm bells in my spirit!

Capture Daniel Plan Fitness - Stretch and Strengthen - breathing in God's goodness, breathing out negativity and toxicity

I realize that some Christians enroll their children in Karate classes, and I may be stepping on some toes by using this Karate class as an example, but there is much more to Karate than just learning how to defend yourself and learning how to become more disciplined. When my brother enrolled in a Karate class they told everyone in his class to bring in a candle so that they could focus their attention on the flame, which is a New Age meditation technique.

If you’d like to read the detailed testimony of what caused a woman to walk away from a championship career in the Martial Arts, please click HERE.

The description for the following Stretch and Strengthen class gives the clearest indication that New Age/New Spirituality practices are most certainly being incorporated in many of Saddleback’s fitness classes. Terms such as “breathing techniques” and “guided relaxation” are used in the descriptions of these classes, which are the same techniques used in  New Age/New Spirituality classes that use similar terms such as “breathing techniques” and “guided imagery” to lead people into altered states of consciousness. And, once again, notice that the term “stretching and strengthening postures, is used:

Instead, I decided to first search Facebook and Twitter to see if Lisa Odette, (the instructor of one of the Stretch and Strengthen classes) was on there. One thing led to another, and here is the information that I found on her that definitely gives enough evidence to clearly indicate and to now say with certainty that the classes offered by Saddleback with Lisa Odette as the instructor,  are indeed Yoga classes, no matter how they may try to disguise the language!

Now I’d like to share some examples with you of how people are failing to test things in light of Scripture and therefore end up getting involved with those who are heavily into spiritual mysticism and unbiblical teachings. This is not meant to be an attack on the character of the people whom I will be speaking about, and I am not judging anyone in regards to their salvation. I am simply sharing this information with you just to, once again, point out the extreme importance for us to always test things that others say and do in light of Scripture, and how we should never promote anyone or anything without first deeply looking into their beliefs.  Also, I wanted to use this as an example to show why we are never to take anyone’s word on a matter or an endorsement of someone; we must always think for ourselves and do our own research to see if a person’s teaching lines up with God’s Word.

On with my examples:

In April of 2015 while I was on Facebook looking at what my friends had posted and ‘liked,’ I happened to see that a friend from my former church  (Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows) had clicked like on this post by Meredith Andrews. I decided not to quick capture the portion that included a picture of her two adorable boys:

Capture Meredith Andrews comment about being at a women's conference

Being the detective at heart that I am, I decided to check out her page to see what conference she took part in and discovered that it was ‘Fresh Grounded Faith.’ While I was on her page I saw the link to her website, and here is what else I discovered that will begin to make my point:

As you can see, Meredith took part in this women’s event along with Ann Voscamp:

Capture Meredith Andrews and Ann Voskamp - Fresh Grounded Faith Conference

If you have never heard of Ann Voscamp before, she is the author of the best selling Christian book, ‘One Thousand Gifts.’ In case you are not aware of the concerns that many Christians have with her book, I encourage you to continue reading the article below that I quick captured in part for you from Lighthouse Trails Research. If you decide to continue reading it, you will soon come to realize that she promotes unbiblical mysticism, as well as intimacy with God that is far from being Biblical. (For those of you who have requested that I post book reviews, you can consider this the first one).

Capture Meredith Andrews retweeting Ann Voscamp's tweetA bond seems to be developing between Meredith and Ann V. because of the conferences they have been involved in together, so, in her enthusiasm and support of Ann V., Meredith retweets many of her tweets, thus endorsing Ann Voscamp in the eyes of the many who follow Meredith and love her beautiful, powerful voice that sings out praises to our God. But sometimes friendship has a way of blinding us to error, and can be deadly to us and to the many we influence in our lives. I would rather believe that Meredith is not aware of the unbiblical nature of Ann V.’s book, than to believe that she has read it and is in complete agreement with everything that’s in her book.

I also became very concerned when I happened to see that Meredith sent out these tweets dated Aug. 6th and Sept. 5th of 2014 promoting the ‘Holy Ghost‘ movie :

Capture Meredith Andrews promoting Holy Ghost movie

Capture Meredith Andrews promotes Holy Ghost movieNot only did she promote this movie with her tweets, but also she was considered to be one of this movie’s Thunderous Supporters:

Capture Meredith Andrews - Thunderous Supporter of Holy Ghost Movie(SOURCE)

If you have not heard about the Holy Ghost Movie that came out in the Fall of 2014, it was totally unscripted. Those involved in producing this documentary film claim that it was “directed and led by the Holy Spirit.” (They prayed, asking the Holy Spirit to lead them to whomever they were supposed to talk to).  They talked and prayed with many people during this documentary. However, as you will hear from the information that is shared in the following set of videos reviewing this movie, after they tested what was  said and done in this documentary against Scripture, it was clear that the Biblical gospel was not preached, the Holy Spirit that was presented to these people was not the Holy Spirit, and the Jesus that they spoke of when talking with these people was not the true Jesus Christ as revealed in God’s Word. But first, here’s the trailer for the movie:

What these people unknowingly were presented with, was a mystical, new age form of prayer, as well as new age Reiki energy healing. The focus was on experiencing the “Holy Spirit,” but what they actually experienced were unbiblical occultic manifestations, as you will soon see and hear in these reviews. This is why it’s so very important for all of us as Christians to do our own research and never take anyone’s recommendation on what to see or read, etc. First we must always test the teachings of everyone in light of Scripture (Acts 17:11) so that we will not be deceived.

The release date for Holy Ghost Part  2 will be October 20th 2015, and is called Holy Ghost Reborn:

The following video trailer for this movie was just published on YouTube on July 14th 2015:

The cast of this documentary should raise your level of concern. I haven’t had time to research all of them yet, but I highlighted the ones who I am already aware of and concerned about:

If you aren’t aware of who the people are that I highlighted in the ‘quick capture’ above, here’s some information on them which I pray will open your eyes as to why you should be concerned. Please pray for discernment before you watch, and test what is said in light of Scripture:

Now I will finally share with you how this trail ultimately led me to Leonard Sweet who I have been aware of since 2008:

Once again, simply using Meredith as an example to show you how all of us as Christians must deeply delve into the beliefs and teachings of everyone we choose to get involved with for our own sake, as well as for those we may have an influence on concerning who we associate with and endorse, I’d like to bring this to your attention:

Besides being a singer and song writer, Meredith Andrews is also a worship leader at Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows, and takes part in many Worship Leader Conferences. I came across this information on the National Worship Leader Conference:

Capture National Worship Leader Conference - picture of some of the speakers As you can see from the picture above, Leonard Sweet, who is a Christian author, ordained Methodist minister, and Dean of the Theological School at Drew University, is also one of speakers at this conference. If you’re  wondering why I’m drawing attention to the fact that Meredith Andrews is taking part in this Conference with Leonard Sweet, please read the following quotes from his book, entitled, ‘Quantum Spirituality.’ I think you will then begin to realize why:

“A surprisingly central feature of all the world’s religions is the language of light in communicating the divine and symbolizing the union of the human with the divine: Muhammed’s light-filled cave, Moses’ burning bush, Paul’s blinding light, Fox’s “inner light,” Krishna’s Lord of Light, Bohme’s light-filled cobbler shop, Plotinus’ fire experiences, Bodhisattvis with the flow of Kundalini’s fire erupting from their fontanelles, and so on. Light is the common thread that ties together near-death experiences as they occur in various cultures.” (Leonard Sweet Quantum Spirituality page 146)

“So far the church has refused to dip its toe into post-modern culture. A quantum spirituality challenges the church to bear its past and to dare its future by sticking its big TOE into the time and place of the present…Then, and only then, will the church not appear to be in a time capsule, sealed against new developments. Then, and only then, will a New Light movement of ‘world-making’ faith have helped to create the world that is to, and may yet, be. Then, and only then, will earthlings have uncovered the meaning of these words, some of the last words poet/activist/contemplative/ bridge between East and West Thomas Merton uttered: “We are already one. But we imagine that we are not. And what we have to recover is our original unity.” (Leonard Sweet, Quantum Spirituality page 10)

“Fourth, New Light embodiment means to be ‘in connection’ and ‘information’ with other faiths. To be in-formation means to know each others songs almost as well as one knows them oneself, and to enlarge the community to include those whose conceptions of God differ from ours in form. To be in connection means to be able to sing, not only selected stanzas, but all the verses” … “One can be a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ without denying the flickers of the sacred in followers of Yahweh, or Kali, or Krishna. A globalization of evangelism ‘in connection’ with others, and a globally ‘in-formed’ gospel, is capable of talking across the fence with Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim –people from other so-called ‘new’ religious traditions (‘new’ only to us)–without assumption of superiority and power.” (Leonard Sweet Quantum Spirituality pages 129-130) (SOURCE) DECEPTION IN THE CHURCH – LEONARD SWEET QUOTES – SANDY SIMPSON

Once again, I am hoping that Meredith just doesn’t have any idea what Leonard Sweet’s beliefs are, which is why it is so very important for us as Christians to do research on those we are considering getting involved with or getting our teachings from so that we will not be led astray, and so that we will not cause anyone else to be led astray by who we choose to get involved with, and what or who we promote.

Hopefully after you are aware of the rest of the information that I will now be sharing with you concerning Leonard Sweet, you will then find the thought of her taking part in this conference with him very troubling, like I do:

Leonard Sweet has been a guest speaker at many churches and Christian Conferences, which gives him credibility in the eyes of many Christians. But it leaves many other Christians wondering as to why there is such a lack of discernment among Christians today that they could be totally unaware of the fact that Leonard Sweet not only endorses many New Age teachers, but also many of his teachings are rooted in New Age/New Spirituality teachings. Consider THIS article that I recently found in the Lighthouse Trails Research Newsletter dated April 7, 2008:

Concerning ‘small groups,’ Leonard Sweet had this to say in his book ‘Quantum Spirituality.’

“The power of small groups is in their ability to develop the discipline to get people “in-phase” with the Christ consciousness and connected with one another.” SOURCE

While I was doing more research on Leonard Sweet, I came across an 8 min. 29 second podcast of one of his messages on his website, entitled Vultures:

Reflecting on a book that he read entitled, ‘The Vultures of Africa‘ by Peter Mundy, he said:

“It’s sort of how everything is so interconnected. At least when I read it this is the thing that just came through.”

Concerning the Pope’s Encyclical, “Our Common Home,” he said:

“I like that so much…because the, the planet. This planet is our common home. Not just care for creation. It’s our common home. And we exist together on this. And we all have to learn to live together, not just humans got to live together. We got to learn to live together with all of…all of creation.”

“And we also have to understand that Jesus died…the redemption story is a story of redemption for all creation. Remember that, that covenant that God made with Noah?It was made with all creation. And that, that continues the redemption of that covenant, and the fulfillment of that covenant that takes place at Calvary is a redemption for all creation.” (Emphasis in red is mine).

From the 2 min 44second mark – 2:49 second mark, he says the following:

“Jesus didn’t just die to save souls; He died to save seals, as well as souls.” (Emphasis in red is mine).

Yes, Romans 8:21 and Colossians 1:20-22 does say:

For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”

And how:

God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, (Jesus) and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.”

However, if you come to understand all the teachings of Leonard Sweet, (as well as Brian McLaren, as you will see by the information below) you will realize he means much more than that.

At the very end of his message that focuses on “how connected everything is,” beginning at the 7:49 minute mark, he says:

“It is our common home. We have to learn to live together. We have to learn to to give thanks and be good stewards…good trustees…of all that God has given us.”

“Praise be to God, for God’s unspeakable gifts. And the greatest gift, besides Jesus, this gift of the creation, that Jesus came to save. Len Sweet, here.” (SOURCE) (Emphasis in red is mine).

In the New Age/New Spirituality view of things, the focus begins on how everything is connected. The focus is on oneness and “oneness with everyone and everything.” The emphasis on oneness continues to grow until the final stages which leads a person to not only believe they can be one with God,” and that God is in each and every one of us,” but also these teachings attempt to lead a person to “believe in their own divinity.”

When time allows, please watch the videos that I posted for you below by Christian author and speaker, Warren B Smith who was once deeply involved in the New Age Movement, but now he speaks and writes on the subject to warn Christians of the many ways that these New Age teachings are now permeating many churches today. He also shares information on these new age concepts, as well as information on Leonard Sweet, Rick Warren, and many others in his presentation.

How is it that Christians are unaware of the New Age teachings of  Leonard Sweet and some other prominent Christian leaders and writers of today? Is it possible that since some Christians today lack spiritual discernment because they fail to test the teachings of popular Christian teachers in light of Scripture and that they are also unaware of what the teachings of the New Age Movement are, that they have simply blended these New Age teachings into Christianity without realizing it and have embraced unity in a way that Jesus never intended for us as Christians to do?

Wayne Shepherd, the announcer for James MacDonald’s ‘Walk In The Word’ program, did an interview with Leonard Sweet about his book, Nudge:

Here are some Leonard Sweet quotes ‘quick captured‘ from an excerpt taken from Tamara Hartzell’s excellent online book: “Reimagining” God: Turning the Light Off to Look for “Truth” in the Corner of a Dark Round Room”

Here’s some important information concerning Leonard Sweet and his book NUDGE that I found on Lighthouse Trails Research and ‘quick captured’ for you:

Capture Nudge - Information I found on Lighthouse Trails(SOURCE)

On Tuesday, July 22, 2015, I happened to see the following tweet by Pulpit And Pen concerning what he had seen on Leonard Sweet’s website. I saw it as  perfect timing to be on Twitter at just the right moment, because the information that I found at the link he shared became quite helpful to continue on with my research for this post, as you will soon see:

Seeing his tweet made me realize that I should have taken more time investigating Leonard Sweet’s website the day that I found his podcast. So I clicked on the link and this is what I discovered:

Capture Leonard Sweet - SpiritVenture Ministries - 'sacred spaces'(SOURCE)

The term “sacred spaces” leaped out at me, because I learned  many years ago that the word sacred is used quite frequently when ‘Contemplative Prayer‘ is involved. But in my determination to try and finish this post I simply ‘quick captured‘ the above information and ended up completely missing what I would have seen if I had only taken one more minute to scroll down just a little further! When I saw some of the replies to Pulpit and Pen’s tweet, I went back to that page, and this is what I realized what they were all wondering about –and rightly so!!

Capture Leonard Sweet SpiritVentures - Advance Conversation Partners - Mark Driscoll, Brian MacLaren, Erwin McManus and moreSeeing the name Brian McLaren on that list was a huge red flag! (In a minute I’ll explain why, for those of you who aren’t aware of who he is). So was seeing Erwin McManus, Mark Batterson, and…Mark Driscoll! The only other person on that list that I was aware of is Margaret Feinberg. She is often a guest on Moody Radio’s ‘Midday Connection.’ (More on Moody Radio and Midday Connection in an upcoming post later on this year –Lord willing). And, by seeing Margaret Feinberg as well as the previously mentioned names, it led me to one highly probable conclusion on what they all seem to have in common which links them all together –Spiritual Formation, mysticism, Contemplative Prayer, Emerging/Emergent Church; these are all unbiblical forms of prayer and spirituality that are leading many Christians astray!

Here’s some information from seven years ago that I ‘quick captured’ for you from Lighthouse Trails which ties many of the ‘Advance Conversation Partners’ together, and gives evidence to their Contemplative Spirituality connections. As you can see, Mark Batterson, Erwin McManus, Margaret Feinberg, Leonard Sweet, Brian McLaren, and Sally Morgenthaler — some of the very same people who are involved in Leonard Sweet’s ADVANCE —  are all considered to be ‘Contemplative.’

Capture Contemplative Christians and Contemplative Conferences - Lighthouse Trails(SOURCE) CONTEMPLATIVE CHRISTIANS AND CONTEMPLATIVE CONFERENCES

In the following video you will hear Margaret Feinberg say:

“God often uses the repetitive nature of  events and themes in daily life to get our attention. I call these moments, ‘Sacred Echoes.”

Notice how she also uses the word sacred:

In the video below, Margaret F. expounds on what she means by “Sacred Echo” by saying the following:

“What is a sacred echo? It is the persistent voice of God in your life.”

“And in my own life, while I want to hear the whispers of God, what I am discovering is that when I listen for the sacred echoes — when I listen for the repetitive nature of God’s voice in my life — then I walk more fully, and more confidently into all that He has for me.”

When you hear Christian leaders and speakers say things like that it should truly concern you, because it’s leading people away from the belief in the sufficiency of Scripture. Yes, Margaret F. does say in many of her videos that ‘what we hear must line up with what God’s Word says,‘ but the emphasis is no longer completely on hearing God speak to us through His written Word. Instead, people are now  encouraged to learn how to hear God speak by not only Margaret F., but also by Christian teachers such as Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and many others. It then makes God’s Word appear to be outdated, and some will end up opening themselves up to doctrines of demons and demonic spirits through participating in these occultic practices and will end up being deceived spiritually. Never lose sight of the fact that we have the very words of God Himself recorded in sixty-six books of the Bible written by many different authors, but completely inspired by the Holy Spirit:

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20,21)

Lord willing, if time allows I’ll do research on the people that I am not familiar with to see if they are also involved with promoting Contemplative Prayer, Spiritual Formation, etc., and I will update this post so that I can share my findings with you.

As promised, here’s some information on Brian McLaren:

This concerns his ‘EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE’ conference, as well as his book of the same title, which will show you just how far from Biblical truth his beliefs really are!

Seven years ago I heard Eric Barger share the shocking things that he witnessed take place during Brian McLaren’s ‘Everthing Must Change’ Conference. Eric Barger goes into greater detail concerning what happened at this conference in the video below than you will read in the information I quick captured for you further down. When time allows, please listen. Keep in mind that Brian McLaren is a frequent speaker at Willowcreek Church in Barrington, Illinois, as well as a speaker at many other Christian churches, universities, and conferences. After you hear some of the things that took place at this conference, you will come to realize just how great the need is for discernment, and how important it is to study and truly know God’s Word so that we will not be deceived by teachers such as Brian McLaren! Please pray for him, as well as the many who are  involved in this Emergent Church movement, that they would come to the knowledge of the truth and stop compromising and twisting what God declares to be right and wrong in His Word.

As you can see from the  quick capture below, Brian McLaren clearly said that:

“…salvation is actually us saving the planet, and when Jesus used the phrase “the world,” He was referring to the earth and not the lost souls living on it.”

“…he recommended that while we were there (my note: at the front of the conference area) we also stick our hands into the tub of dirt that had been provided to fully sense “what needed to be saved.”

That ties in with what Leonard Sweet says — concerning his quotes that I shared with you earlier — in which he declared:

“The redemption story is a story of redemption for all creation.”

Jesus didn’t just die to save souls. He died to save seals as well as souls.”

“…and the greatest gift, besides Jesus, this gift of the creation, that Jesus came to save.”

More of the teachings of Brian McLaren:

In the following Playlist you will hear a three part message in which Brian McLaren will  use Deconstructionism in an attempt to justify changing Christianity into something entirely different. Notice how Brian McLaren begins by saying how everything changes over time and uses maps as an example. He sets people up to accept his idea about how the landscape is changing and maps need to change and be updated because “they don’t reflect reality any more.” He then uses that concept to try and lead people to accept how Christianity must also change to adapt to a changing culture. Listen very  carefully to all that he says, pray for discernment, and test what He says in light of Scripture. (In this Playlist I also added ‘A Critique of Brian McLaren’s ‘A New Kind of Christianity,’ as well as the  video that I posted earlier concerning what occurred at Brian McLaren’s  ‘Everything Must Change’ Conference).

Here’s a good article I found on the subject:

Now I’ll continue on with other things that I found during my times of research for this post:

The same day that I was looking at the conferences that Meredith Andrews was involved with, I also discovered that she will be singing at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church on Aug 13, 2015:

Capture Meredith Andrews Saddleback Church Aug, 13th 2015

If you read the description of the following video on YouTube, you will soon realize that August 13th won’t be Meredith’s first appearance at Saddleback. This video clearly shows that she started singing at Rick Warren’s church way back as early as June 28th, 2009 during their services:

If you are among the few who are still unaware of the concerns that many Christians have with Rick Warren, these videos will fill you in on most of what you need to know:

In my research I also found out that one of Meredith’s songs (The Gospel Changes Everything) was featured in Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s the ‘Son of God‘ movie. She also took part in ‘The Bible: Son of God Tour‘ which started out at Saddleback Church and traveled to 17 cities from March 20th-April  13th of 2014:

“The two-hour live event, a joint partnership between Word Entertainment and Lightworkers Media (Mark Burnett and Roma Downey), brings the feature film, “Son of God” and epic mini-series The Bible” to life in sight and sound with award-winning artists…” (SOURCE)

If you happen to be wondering what the problem is with Meredith becoming involved with the “Son of God” tour, please consider reading one of my previous posts, entitled:  WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW IF YOUR PASTOR IS ONE OF THE MANY WHO IS PROMOTING A.D. THE BIBLE CONTINUES

7/31/15 IMPORTANT UPDATE: This morning while I was on Facebook I happened to see the following post that reveals the Premier Sponsors for the National Worship Leader Conference which featured Leonard Sweet was Greg Laurie and Harvest America. As you can see in the yellow highlighted area that I added to Mark Jeffries’ post, James Macdonald/Harvest Bible Chapel’s Vertical Church Band also appeared at this conference that took place at the Cathedral Of Faith in San Jose, CA on July 28-30, 2015:

I hope that you are now beginning to see how very important it is to test the teachings of everyone you listen to in light of Scripture, as well as the need to pray for discernment and to be aware of the spiritually deceptive practices that are leading so many Christians astray.

Sadly, as many of us now realize, we live at a time where not all of us can trust our pastors or other Christian leaders because of the direction that many of them seem to be going in. Some pastors no longer believe in the inerrancy of Scripture, many are compromising with Biblical truth, some are embracing heretics, some are promoting Contemplative, mystical experiences, and there have even been some Christians very recently who have brought complete shame to the name of Jesus Christ by their lives or by denying their faith completely.

While there is still hope and forgiveness if they repent and turn to Jesus Christ with all of their hearts, as Christians we must learn that the only one who we must truly place our trust in is Jesus Christ Himself; we cannot rely on any man or ministry to learn truth. God’s Holy Spirit will be faithful to reveal the truth to us as we dig deeply into His Word to study it so that we can rightly divide the Word of truth for ourselves.

When time allows, please consider visiting  LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS RESEARCH WEBSITE , as well as HERESCOPE, as well as the other websites that I posted the links to below, so that you can  become aware of the many false teachings and false teachers that are popular today so that you will not be led astray by them. And, as always, make sure that you test everything against the truth of God’s Word. (Acts 17:11)

NOTE: A special thank you to those of you who take the time to make a comment. Whether it’s to encourage or to share helpful information, or even if it’s a comment that expresses your disagreement with what I write, or possibly even a comment that is negative or harsh in some way. All of you motivate me to dig deeper, and I end up finding even more information that I would never have found if it wasn’t for those of you who cause me to search deeper for one reason or another.

For this post, I want to personally thank Cindy Lopez for offering advice on what I could do to find more information on the instructor of the Stretch and Strengthen classes being offered at Saddleback in order to possibly verify if the classes offered at Saddleback are Yoga classes as they appear to be. I was trying to finish up this post by just focusing on finding and adding more information on Leonard Sweet, and wasn’t even intending to search for any further information concerning the classes. However, because of Cindy, I decided to continue on with my search on  the instructors of these classes which led me to find, and already post, enough information that I believe will clearly put an end to any doubts that anyone might have –the information that I found concerning the instructor of some of these classes gives enough evidence to demonstrate that the Stretch and Strengthen classes are indeed Yoga classes!

Lord willing, I will be addressing the dangers of Yoga in an upcoming post, since it seems that there are many Christians and other people who are not aware of the dangers of it, but I have other posts that I need to write first. Until then, if you are not aware of the dangers of Yoga, when time allows, please watch the video below in which Ray Yungen shares a lot of information on the dangers of Yoga.

Thank you for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

~Mary Dalke/Living4HisGlory
