capture-give-thanks-in-all-circumstances-fall-leaves-and-trees

Here in the USA today we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day, so I just wanted to take a few minutes to express my thankfulness to God for His mercy and grace towards me and for His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and to also express thanks to Him for my dear family and special friends.

I also wanted to thank all of you for taking time to read some of my posts and poems throughout this year, and for your words of encouragement, as well. I truly hope and pray that you have been blessed by the things that I have been sharing with you, as well as challenged by the things that you have been reading. Above all, I hope and pray that what you are learning through these posts is making you realize the extreme importance of looking to God and to Him alone and to His Word for the truth so that you will not be deceived by some of the many false teachings that are now being presented more and more by pastors and teachers that you have placed your trust in who are responsible for leading many Christians astray in these last days. Please keep in mind that you must not only be sure to ‘examine the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (by the pastors and teachers that you listen to) is true,’ but also you must make sure that everything lines up with Scripture (Acts 17:11), and that you are not viewing God’s Word through the lens of the twisted teachings of men as I once did.

On this Thanksgiving day you may find yourself alone, or you may be struggling in the midst of a very difficult time in your life right now. I pray that you will draw near to God and read His Word for hope and comfort. I also pray that He will give you His grace and His strength that will carry you through this difficult time.

If you have never placed your trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, I pray that you would buy a Bible — preferably a King James Bible — and read the Gospel of John and the Book of Romans to discover the depth of the love that God has for you, and the truth of the gospel that has the power to set you free — no matter how deep into sin you may be right now — and His Word has the power to also transform your minds and your lives! He alone can bring you the peace and the joy that you are searching for!

I hope the following songs will bless, encourage, and bring comfort to you.

God Bless You

UPDATE:I have been able to take care of many of the important issues that I have had to deal with lately, and was able to spend around four hours yesterday trying to finish writing the next post in the Catholicism series. Lord willing, I hope to be able to present it to you by this Sunday evening.

Capture Let your hope keep you joyful be patient in trouble - Romans 12-12

Although I was hoping to be able to share a poem with you today, time just did not permit me to have it completed by today. However, I would still like to share a few thoughts with you based on the poem that I was in the process of writing.

Thanksgiving — and many holidays — is a time for many of us to get together with friends and family to celebrate and to enjoy being together. Some come from afar to be with their loved ones, others are separated by choice or circumstances. The holidays can be a very depressing and deeply lonely time for many as they reflect upon joy filled memories from the past, as well as the painful, lonely times that many have only experienced in their past. Some, sadly, spend each holiday alone.

Sometimes it’s only unforgiveness or misunderstandings that puts a barrier between us and loved ones. In these cases it’s only by choosing to forgive by an act of our will, and by the grace and strength that comes from God alone can we choose to forgive. When we make the choice to forgive, whether the person is sorry or not, God is then able to begin a healing in our broken hearts and troubled and confused minds. Unforgiveness only keeps us in a prison without bars as we choose to hold on to the bitterness and anger that fills our hearts and eats away at us, robbing us of any joy that we could have in life.

Sometimes it may be the philosophies and teachings of men that may fill our minds with things that are not true and may cause us to shift the blame for our circumstances upon ourselves, or upon someone in our life who is truly not to be blamed for how things in life have turned out.

Sometimes it truly may be our fault that our circumstances are as they presently exist, and it could be because of pride and rebellion that we continue to struggle day after day, and yet we choose to blame others for our own wrong choices instead of turning to God in brokenness and repentance and asking for His forgiveness and saving grace that comes through Jesus Christ alone.

Then there are those times when physical, sexual, or emotional abuse is the reason why we distance ourselves from those who were supposed to have loved us, and chose to hurt us instead. In these cases sometimes it may be impossible to be with them, but for our sake we must still choose to forgive them before God and to let go of the anger and hatred that is tearing us apart and holding us back from truly living –and loving.

Forgiveness does not mean that we are saying what they did to us is acceptable, because what they did to us may have been truly wrong and heartbreaking, or unspeakably horrific! It just releases us from the bondage of wanting to see them pay for the pain that they inflicted upon us, and allows us to release them to God who alone will be the one to deal with them for what they have done, and allows us to rest in Him and trust that He will have His way in due time.

Maybe you have never personally received God’s forgiveness by acknowledging the fact that you are a sinner — as we all are — separated from a thrice Holy God because of your sin, and maybe you do not realize that you can come directly to Him through Jesus Christ alone, for He is our only Mediator, and the only name upon whom we can call to save us. (1 Timothy 2:5, Acts 4:12)  You cannot come to God through the Virgin Mary, or through any other saint, or by your good works, but by placing your trust only in Jesus Christ — God who came in human flesh — and what He  accomplished through His sinless life as He walked among us on this earth, and what He endured on the cross when He died in your place, and in mine, taking the full wrath that God intended for you and for all of us upon Himself.

He didn’t just die for your sins and all the guilt that holds you in bondage.  The good news is He arose from the dead and will declare you not guilty when you stand before Him on judgment day if you turn to Him with true sorrow for all of the sin in your life and accept His death as full payment for your sins. You will then be covered with His righteousness and be accepted by God and can begin to know His love and truth by reading His Word, the Bible. Christianity is not another religion; it’s being able to have a personal relationship with your Creator!

No matter where you live in this world, the message in this post is for you. May God reveal His love and truth to each and every one of you, and may you each come to the knowledge of the truth through reading His Word, and with true sorrow in your heart for what you have done in life, I pray that you will reach out and receive His love and forgiveness and free gift of grace — His unmerited favor — that is there for you to receive. He will fill the void in your life with true love and He promises that He will never leave or forsake you when so many others may have abandoned you in life.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your day to read some of my posts and poems.

Hoping you and your loved ones have a very wonderful Thanksgiving!

God Bless You

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Thessalonians 5:15-18)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:3-6)

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”          (Acts 4:10-12)
