(Above quick capture taken from video below).

Many Christians become burdened for those who are being spiritually deceived and held in bondage to false doctrines as they once were. I am one of  those many and became especially burdened for Catholics (since I am a former Catholic) as well as for Jehovah’s Witnesses since they frequently came to my home. When time allows, I pray that you would please consider listening to this heart-wrenching testimony of a precious woman who experienced emotional abuse and many traumatic experiences in life, many at the hands of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I pray that as you listen your hearts would become softened towards the many Jehovah’s Witnesses who faithfully go door to door sharing what they believe is “the truth” as do so many in false religious systems believe based on “new revelations” and “traditions and doctrines of men.” I pray that those of you who know God’s Word well would be moved with compassion for them and pray for them, and that some of you would even consider inviting them into your homes so that you can at least share your testimony with them and offer them something to drink instead of condemning them with your words and chasing them away as one of my former pastors bragged about doing in one of his sermons. It sickened me and broke my heart to hear that a pastor would act that way instead of being moved with compassion to share the Biblical gospel with a group of people who are being deceived by false teachings that they sincerely believe to be the truth.

Thank you very much for stopping by today.

God Bless You

RELATED  SCRIPTURES

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.  The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.  So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say,

“You are my Son; today I have become your Father”?

Or again,

“I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”?

And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says,

“Let all God’s angels worship him.”

In speaking of the angels he says,

“He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.”

But about the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

He also says,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”

To which of the angels did God ever say,

“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:1-14)

“Now Thomas (called Didymus) one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe it.”  A week later His disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to Him, “My Lord  and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:24-29)

“He [Jesus Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the *firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him t0 reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.” (Colossians 1:15-20) *(firstborn – unique in rank and privilege).

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias [Isaiah] the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.  And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias [Isaiah], and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.” (Acts 8:26-38) (Verse 37 — Words in red — are missing from the Jehovah’s Witness New World Translation. I must admit that verse 37 is also missing from the NIV translation, as well! The translation that I have mainly used since becoming a Christian, but more and more I find myself leaning towards the more reliable King James Version).

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD will never count against him.” (Romans 4:7,8)

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1)

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.  How much more then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.” (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.  Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.  Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.  But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28)

“Therefore brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body,  and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:19-23)

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:15-17)

“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.  He will not always accuse, nor will He harbor His anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.  For as high as the  heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has  He removed  our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:8-12)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

“For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.  But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.  Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:21-24)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.  For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:18,19)

“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.  All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts.  Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.  But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this, not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:1-10)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.” (John 6:47) (KJV)

“Jesus answered,  “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:5,6 KJV)

“Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. Jesus cried and said, “He that believeth on Me, believeth not on Me, but on Him that sent Me. And he that seeth Me seeth Him that sent Me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear My words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.” (John 12:42-50 KJV)

“Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which He hath testified of His Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made Him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of His Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:5-13 KJV)

“At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures.  We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.  But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy.  He saved us through the washing of rebirth an renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:3-7)

“The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:4)

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes; first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” (Romans 1:16)

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.  For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”  (Colossians 2:8,9)

Then said they unto Him, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said unto them, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent.” (John 6:28,29 KJV)

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ.  He forgave all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.  And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2:13-15)

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy.” (Titus 3:4,5)

“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense –Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:1,2)

“This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9,10)

“We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13)

INTRODUCTION

Many of us at one point in time, have probably been devastated by a person whom we have loved and trusted.  We think we really know a person, but then we discover the hidden truth; they are nothing like we thought they were.  For some of us (such as myself) we find out when it’s too late; the romance and gentleness turns into rejection, verbal and emotional  abuse, and in some instances, (not in mine) physical abuse,  moments after marriage.  However, God is still Sovereign, and He uses the pain and deep rejection to draw us to Himself, knowing that in our brokenness we will then come to Him finding what we really need  —His love and forgiveness.

Sometimes we have our own ideas on how we’d like our lives to be, but little do we realize is that if we choose to lose our lives (surrendering them to Him) we will actually find our lives.  A life lived to satisfy self is never really satisfied.  But surrendering your life to God, by agreeing with God that you are a sinner and making the choice to turn from your sin, and choosing to place your complete trust in Jesus Christ’s substitutionary atoning work on the cross as complete payment for your sins, you will find real life; eternal life.

Your prayers may not be answered in the way you hope they will be, but you can be assured that God will work all things together for good.  You will also find how He will take the most heart-breaking experiences in life, and in one way or another He will use them in amazing ways to bring Him glory, and to give you a deep and satisfying joy by how He will reveal Himself to you if you will only trust Him and seek Him in His Word .

He can restore your lives and your marriage and make yours better than you imagined it to be.  However, because we all have free wills, there will be some who will choose to seek after the things in this world, and therefore the bonding that God desires to take place between a man and a woman in marriage will never take place.  Commitment to one another in marriage is what keeps a marriage strong, but a marriage where a man and a woman have chosen to base the foundation of their relationship upon Christ, is a marriage that will stand through the many storms that rage against it through life’s journey.  (Almost finished…will add a few more thoughts when time allows).

Thank you for stopping by! And thank you very much for taking the time to read some of my posts and poems!

God bless you all.

**UPDATE 3/11/13**I have been working on my testimony, but with all the information I would like to share with you, there is no way that it will be finished before Easter.  Lord willing, I hope to at least have a poem completed for you before the end of this month.  In the mean time, if you’d like to read the Easter poems I wrote in previous years, you can click on the titles below:

EASTER 2010 —  NO GREATER LOVE

EASTER 2011IT IS FINISHED

EASTER 2011ARISE

EASTER 2012ONCE

UPDATE 2/24/13  Since I became a Christian right before Easter, I decided now is the time that I would like to share my testimony with all of you.  Also, because one of my deepest desires is to share with Catholics the truth that I discovered as I read a little Catholic New Testament Bible that was given to me, I am going to be sharing some of the teachings of the Catholic church with you, and then comparing them to the truth presented in God’s Word, the Bible, because not many Catholics realize what the core doctrines of the Catholic church really are.

It is my prayer that God will lead many Catholics to this site, (as well as to many other sites where people reach out in love to share Biblical truth with Catholics) and that God will open their minds and their hearts to understand and to receive the joyous truths presented in His Word so they may come to know the joy of sins forgiven, and how they may have the assurance of heaven.

Above all, I pray that many Catholics (as well as those who have not yet heard the true gospel) will come to grasp the depth of God’s love for them in which He demonstrated to us by sending His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to pay the debt for our sins in full so that we might then be able to have a personal relationship with Him by being willing to repent (willing to turn from sin) and choosing to place our trust in Christ alone and not in our good works for our forgiveness,  (1 John 5:9-13) (Ephesians 3:17-19) (Romans 5:8) (1 John 4:9,10) (Acts 3:19, 20:21, 26:20) (Ephesians 2:8,9) (Romans 5:1-11) and receive this free gift in which He paid for with His life.

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”  (Galatians 2:21)

LORD WILLING, COMING SOON:

MY TESTIMONY: FROM FEAR AND UNCERTAINTY, TO PEACE AND ASSURANCE — HOW GOD REVEALED THE TRUTH TO ME AS I WAS READING A CATHOLIC NEW TESTAMENT BIBLE

shattered-heart

SHATTERED HEARTS AND BROKEN DREAMS

Has your heart been shattered, left in pieces beyond repair

Have you come to believe that no one will ever really care

Shattered hearts and broken dreams

Life is never how it seems

We give our hearts to those who seem to care

And sometimes we are completely unaware

Of who they really are inside

Filled with deceit and filled with pride

We’re captivated by their charm

Never thinking they would do us harm

We think we know them oh so well

But truth, in time, the heart does tell

The world with all its lusts still holds tight

But if love is true, true love resists; true love will fight

One may seek to satisfy their own desires,

But for a marriage to succeed, two it requires

Some come to God with shattered hearts

Seeking help and hope, God’s work then starts

When all at once our eyes can see

The truth that hurts now sets us free

God’s Word revealed

Sin no longer concealed

Our sins exposed by truth; His Word, His light

Repentant, now covered with Christ’s righteousness in His sight

Having hope to face another day

No matter what they choose to do or say

In Christ you’ll find a love so true, peace and strength to heal your shattered heart

Your dreams surrendered in His hands, life begins; a brand new start

Hearts and lives joined together as one

Because they know Jesus Christ, God’s risen Son

Have no need to ever be in despair

Because they know their God is there

To give them grace to see them through

Life’s struggles and heartaches that come to me and you

Hearts can be healed, as well as joined together as one

When our lives are built upon Christ, God’s only Son

Our worldly dreams we then lay at His cross

For what we once saw as gain, we now count as loss

To know Christ and to make Him known is now our main desire

Commitment and to know His Word, is what this will require

Shattered hearts and broken dreams, through Christ you can bring them before God’s very throne

And in return they’ll be renewed much better than your own

“Come to Me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.”            (Matthew 11:28-30)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone; the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

“And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)

“Husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church.” (Ephesians 5:25)

“Husbands love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” (Colossians 3:19)

“However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33)

“But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. for whose sake I have lost all things.  I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.”               (Philippians 3:7-9)

INTRODUCTION

Sad but true, pornography is called — among many things — ‘the secret sin of the church.’  The statistics are 1 in 10 pastors admit to visiting a porn site once a week, 30 to 50% of women who call themselves Christians admit to being addicted to porn, and the statistics are much higher for men; at least 70% of men who profess to be Christians admit to having a serious addiction to viewing pornographic material on a rather consistent basis.  I heard those statistics on the radio concerning a survey that was taken by ‘Focus On The Family,’  and wrote them down.  As with any survey — especially one such as this, where many choose not to admit their addiction to pornography — the statictics are bound to be much higher than recorded.

But for those of us who are professing Christians, why is it that some of us are controlled by something so twisted, distorted, and perverted such as pornography?  For those of us who are married, don’t we realize how emotionally damaging this is to our mates?  Could it be that some of us have professed Christ just with our lips, and we have yet to truly repent of our sins?  Why is there not a fear of God in our hearts that will bring us to our knees in deep remorse out of hatred for our sins enough to turn from them?  Well, the videos below and the thoughts that came together as I prayed about writing this poem will deal with some of these issues, and the truth in the Scriptures I posted below I pray will not only expose your sins, but also bring hope and victory to you over your addictions.  For it’s only through Christ that forgiveness and freedom is found to destroy the bondage to sin.  And God’s Word has the power to cleanse and to renew our minds and to free us from the sins of the flesh that only destroy the beauty of this expression of love that was meant to be only between a man and a woman in marriage — no matter what society says today!

This poem came together as I first thought about a comment that my first Bible study teacher shared with us… ‘Your commitment to Christ will be shown, by what you do when you’re all alone.’  That thought made an impact on my life; hearing that, plus some Bible verses she shared with us about how God sees all that we do, was enough to convict me as a new Christian.  Even though I immediately was convicted of watching movies with sexual content after I first became a Christian, God used what my Bible study teacher shared with us to end the excuses for watching anything that even began to stir those desires within me!  (Song of Solomon 2:7, 3:5, 8:4)

For those of us who are single, we especially need to guard our hearts and protect our minds from allowing Satan to use the genuine godly desire we have — to one day find someone to share life with and to marry, and then to be able to express our love in a deeply intimate way —  to overpower and control us and lead us into sin.  Instead of giving in to temptations, we must make the choice to surrender our desires to God, and walk by the Spirit so that we will not gratify the desires of our sinful nature.  (Romans 13:14, Galatians 5:16)

Since July is ‘Pornography Awareness Month,’ I decided to post it now, and would have posted it sooner, but because I had been so concerned about what is happening at my former church, Harvest Bible Chapel, and it took over a month to express some of my concerns in the ‘Introduction’ of my poem, WARNING YOU WITH TEARS I am a little behind. I hope and pray that God will somehow use this poem, ‘WHO ARE YOU,’  for His glory, and His Word for your correction, conviction, encouragement, and ultimately for your freedom.

Most of this poem was written last year, but I hesitated to post it.  However, it seemed that almost every time I would get into my car and drive to work, I would hear something about the destructive nature of pornography!  I wrote my thoughts and some of those things down, and posted them below…

  • April 4, 2011 As I continue to hold off finishing this poem, ‘Who Are You,’ I keep hearing information on pornography.  I heard last week on WMBI that the top ten searches on the Internet for children between the ages of 7 and 10 includes porn!  Then today, I was listening to a video that had nothing to do with the problem of pornography, but the subject was brought up and the pastor said how we as Christians are to cut these things out of our lives and how it has such a negative and destructive affect on how men view women.  I am sure the same can be said about how women view men, as well!

  • June 2011 Again, I was listening to a video that had nothing to do with pornography, but heard the pastor say something about pornography; 50% of women are addicted to porn, and porn will cause a ‘tsunami of sex crimes.’  I think God wants me to address this destructive sinful addiction, and will finish this poem!

  • June 13th 2011 Berean Beacon posted a video on porn.  (Decided not to post that video because it was rather graphic; I didn’t even finish listening to it).

  • August 2, 2011 On my way to work heard another program on WMBI about pornography.

  • Came across another video that expresses to men their need to guard their hearts and minds, and to treat women with respect and not take advantage of them.  (See video #4).

Your comments are welcomed, but any vulgar or obscene comments will not be published.

Thank you for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my poems and posts.

God Bless You

SCRIPTURES FOR YOU TO FOCUS ON

“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl.”  (Job 31:1)

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”  (Psalm 19:14)

“I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.  But if they had stood in My council, they would have proclaimed My Words to My people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds.  “Am I only a God nearby,”  declares the LORD,  “and not a God far away?  Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?”  declares the LORD.  “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” (Jeremiah 23:21-24)

“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)

“Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.  For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.  Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.  Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.  You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived.  But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.  Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self which is being renewed in the knowledge in the image of its Creator.” (Colossians 3:1-10)

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–His good, pleasing, and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

“The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now then when we first believed.  The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.  So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.  Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.  Rather clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Romans 13:11-14)

“So I say live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Galatians 5:16)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  And that is what some of you were.  But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

“So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do.”They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.  Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.  You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.  Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.  You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”                   (Ephesians 4:17-24)

“Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; with holiness no one will see the Lord.” (Hebrews 12:14)

“…for it is written:  “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)

“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sins’s deceitfulness.”  (Hebrews 3:13)

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” (Hebrews 12:1)

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.  Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.  For this very reason make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.” (2 Peter 1:3-7)

“Why do you call me,  ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”  (Luke 6:46)

Jesus said…”But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” (Luke 13:3,5)

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” (Acts 3:19)

“In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)

“…I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.” (Acts 26:20)

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation, and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10)

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.  It teaches us to say,  “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age while we wait for the blessed hope–the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.”  (Titus 2:11-14)

“The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood–idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. (Revelation 9:21)

“They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify Him.”  (Revelation 16:9)

“Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.”  (Revelation 16:10b,11)

computer-man-close-up-002WHO ARE YOU?

Who are you when no one is watching?

Who are you when you cannot be seen?

What images do you allow into your mind,

Or on your t.v. or computer screen?

If Jesus were to now visibly appear at your side,

Would there be something you’d want to quickly delete or hide,

From the eyes of Him who is holy and true,

Even though He already knows all that you do?

Would what you view bring Him glory,

Or would it fill Him with disgust,

Are you growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ,

Or are you feeding an ungodly lust,

Many women suffer in silence, some feel completely abused,

Rather than feeling loved, their husbands only make them feel used,

Some women are wrecklessly treated as objects for pleasure,

Instead of someone to be loved; a person to value and treasure,

The innocence of a child –robbed by someone they thought they could

trust,

Someone who wickedly acts out what they viewed; a mind that has been

perverted and controlled by lust,

If God is truly reigning in your heart,

Then now is the time for you to start,

To put to death those desires that war within,

And cause you in your mind and heart to lead you to sin,

Secret sins exposed by His light,

Are no longer in darkness, they’re now in plain sight,

If you are His child you must make the choice,

To turn from these destructive sins and respond to His voice,

Your deliverance is waiting, your forgiveness as well,

Refusing repentance will only lead you to hell,

Secret sins exposed by His light,

Will shatter your darkness, and if you’re willing to fight,

He’ll give you His strength so you’re no longer weak,

And give you the victory so for His glory you’ll speak…

Bringing correction and hope through Christ to all who are bound,

By these sins of the flesh, so that freedom through repentance and

Christ then can be found.

“Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress.  He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.  Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.” (Psalm 107:13-16)

Save

Yes, helloooo world!  Welcome to my site.  I hope you will be encouraged and blessed by the poems God has put on my heart to share with you.  It is my prayer that I can be an encouragement to all who come to my site.

I think that many of you will be able to relate to feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, and discouragement that life often brings our way.  All of my poems are written from personal experiences… a prodigal child, and the heartbreak it brings, …a relationship that you long for, but the red flags tell you to beware, …and the joy that comes when you realize when you have Christ, you have everything, even though loneliness grips your heart at times.

One poem is based on comments I have heard people say that leave them fearful and locked within a prison without bars… an emotional prison that robs them, …or us, of the joys and blessings of having a meaningful relationship with someone,  if only they/we would let go of the haunting memories of the past.  Only God can do that deep healing within us, …if we allow Him to.  Sometimes that means we need to forgive someone, sometimes it just means trusting Him and asking for courage to step out and allow someone to become a part of our lives.

Also, because of the fact that darkness and deception are increasing in the world, and making their way into the church, I will be writing and sharing poems based on my experiences as I observed, and continue to observe the shifts from Biblical Christianity.  Today there are many teachings claiming to be Christian, however they seek only to distort and destroy Biblical Christianity as we know it, and replace it with a counterfeit.   My desire is not only to encourage others, but also to help other believers in Christ, and those seeking to know the truth, to realize the importance of studying God’s Word, and testing things that people say in the light of Scripture.

Many poems that I share with you, I will also give an introduction to, so you will understand the story behind it, as well as my thoughts at the time I wrote it, and my purpose for writing it.

My main goal is to glorify God, but I also want to encourage and challenge you…  not only through what I write, but also through Scriptures.  I may be able to bring a sense of hope to you, but ultimately God is the only one who can bring healing to your broken hearts and help you to not only grasp the depth of the love He has for you, but also to make you realize the importance of studying His Word, so your are not led astray personally, as well as spiritually.

May God bless all who come to my site, and thank you for stopping by!  🙂
