Here in the USA today we are celebrating Thanksgiving Day, so I just wanted to take a few minutes to express my thankfulness to God for His mercy and grace towards me and for His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and to also express thanks to Him for my dear family and special friends.

I also wanted to thank all of you for taking time to read some of my posts and poems throughout this year, and for your words of encouragement, as well. I truly hope and pray that you have been blessed by the things that I have been sharing with you, as well as challenged by the things that you have been reading. Above all, I hope and pray that what you are learning through these posts is making you realize the extreme importance of looking to God and to Him alone and to His Word for the truth so that you will not be deceived by some of the many false teachings that are now being presented more and more by pastors and teachers that you have placed your trust in who are responsible for leading many Christians astray in these last days. Please keep in mind that you must not only be sure to ‘examine the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (by the pastors and teachers that you listen to) is true,’ but also you must make sure that everything lines up with Scripture (Acts 17:11), and that you are not viewing God’s Word through the lens of the twisted teachings of men as I once did.

On this Thanksgiving day you may find yourself alone, or you may be struggling in the midst of a very difficult time in your life right now. I pray that you will draw near to God and read His Word for hope and comfort. I also pray that He will give you His grace and His strength that will carry you through this difficult time.

If you have never placed your trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, I pray that you would buy a Bible — preferably a King James Bible — and read the Gospel of John and the Book of Romans to discover the depth of the love that God has for you, and the truth of the gospel that has the power to set you free — no matter how deep into sin you may be right now — and His Word has the power to also transform your minds and your lives! He alone can bring you the peace and the joy that you are searching for!

I hope the following songs will bless, encourage, and bring comfort to you.

God Bless You

UPDATE:I have been able to take care of many of the important issues that I have had to deal with lately, and was able to spend around four hours yesterday trying to finish writing the next post in the Catholicism series. Lord willing, I hope to be able to present it to you by this Sunday evening.

Capture Eyes with tears 1This will be my first in a new series of posts that I will be doing at least once a month on Wednesdays so that I can make you all aware of some important information that I come across on the Internet that you may not be aware of. I have been trying to think of something that I could write on a regular basis that would be short and to the point (at least I’ll try to be), and since I am a detective-at-heart and desire to make you all aware of the importance of testing things in light of Scripture (Acts 17:11), the idea to do these posts — as well as the name — came to my mind a week or so ago, based on Acts 20:26-31:

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”

So, with that in mind, here’s what I’d like to share with you on this Wednesday:

Please read THIS by Marcia Montenegro before you decide on hypnotherapy as a way to bring healing from past hurt and abuse, or as way to lose weight or to free you from bad habits. You may end up with a much worse problem!

For those of you who love your ‘Jesus Calling Devotional’ and no one has yet to share the serious concerns that many Christians have with it, please read THIS  by Warren Smith/Lighthouse Trails. Most importantly, please take some time every day to read and study your Bible. God’s Word is what we need to read for truth, encouragement, and wisdom, and to protect us from spiritual deception.

Have you heard of the TOMORROWLAND FESTIVALS? If not, please watch this and warn others:

UPDATE: The above video was removed from YouTube because of complaints registered against the person who uploaded this video. They  claimed that he was in violation of copyright laws, but that simply is not true. So here is the original video that he used a two minute clip from.  I must warn you though; there is foul language throughout many parts of this video! I normally would never post something like this, but I just thought it was important for you to see what actually takes place — in its entirety — at these music festivals to show you how those who attend these festivals are being indoctrinated by the messages they present not only as they introduce those who perform there, but also throughout their performances. The focus is on “unity” and “illumination.” That should come as no surprise to many of you, because it’s the same message that many ‘Christian’ leaders are promoting these days, as well!

More evidence of a One World Religion forming before our eyes: Unity for a good cause is NOT Biblical unity! <–Mormons, Muslims, and more joining together at a conference at the Vatican. This article was brought to my attention while reading STAND UP FOR THE TRUTH

And last but not least –literally!  <–Harvest Bible Chapel attendees and members, look at the last picture in the list of people who spoke at the Nines Leadership Network Conference that will be replayed on November 19th and 20th 2014. No. It’s not James MacDonald, but, nonetheless, it raises serious concerns knowing this pastor’s decision to take part in this conference was obviously approved by Harvest Bible Chapel leadership. I found out about this conference also by reading ‘Stand Up For The Truth.’ One can only hope that he did not give in to compromise on behavior that God’s Word clearly defines as sinful and that needs to be repented of. The culture around us is definitely changing, but God and His Word never change!

People such as Emergent Church leaders Tony Jones and Doug Pagitt spoke there, as well as Wayne Cordeiro, (important information on his false teachings that I came across when I was still a member at Harvest Bible Chapel Rolling Meadows and searching for information on the speakers in the once popular yet highly debated, but no longer in existence ‘Elephant Room Conferences HERE,) and Pastor Perry Noble (who played ‘Highway To Hell’ at one of his Easter services) and Pastor Matt Chandler… (whom I expressed my concerns about in a previous post that you can read HERE) …also spoke there, as well as many speakers that I have never heard of before.

Now that you know some of the speakers who were at that conference, as well as the other things I have just shared with you, please take time to reflect on the truth  in the following Scriptures. And, if you have never seen the video I posted below, please watch when time allows so you are aware of these men and their false teachings.

“See to it that no one takes you captive through through hollow and deceptive philosophy which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.” (Hebrews 1:1-3a)

“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”                             (1 Corinthians 15:33)

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”  “Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.  Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

“Now, brothers, about times and dates we do not need to write you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying,  “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”     (1 Thessalonians 5:8)

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness and into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9,10)

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty foe their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” (Romans 1:18-28)

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

“This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.” (1 John 1:5-7)

“I the LORD do not change.” (Malachi 3:6)

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

Many of us attempt to earn God’s forgiveness and think that if we are basically a ‘good person,’ that when the time comes for us to stand before God, He will accept us if we just try and make sure the good outweighs the bad we have done in life.  But most of us lose sight of the fact that God is completely Holy and that His standard is perfection.

So, how many of us can say we are perfect?  None of us…if we’re completely honest.  God gave us the commandments to show us what sin is, and also to make us realize just how impossible it is for us to be able to obey them all.  So if God’s standard is perfection and if all of us fall way short of that standard, then we are lost and without hope.

That is why God, who is rich in mercy, sent His One and Only Son; He lived a perfect, sinless life that none of us could ever live,  to become the perfect and acceptable sacrifice for our sins.  Jesus willingly allowed God His Father to pour the entire amount of His wrath that we deserve upon Himself, and He died in our place.  And in return, if we choose to place our trust in this free gift of His grace, paid with the life blood of Jesus–who was God in the flesh–He will completely forgive us of our sins.  That is what’s known as ‘The Great Exchange’…our sins were placed upon the sinless spotless Lamb of God, and in return we are then covered with the righteousness of Jesus.

Sadly, however, many religions have evolved over time, because instead of accepting this free but costly gift, many people came up with rules and rituals in an attempt to earn God’s forgiveness.  I was one of many trapped in one of these religions.  I was bound by fear and never knew what Jesus really accomplished when He died and rose from the dead.  (More to come).

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.  How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death so that we may serve the living God!”  (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.  Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.  Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.  But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.”  (Hebrews 9:24-28)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”     (1 Peter 3:18)

“For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.  But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.  Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.”  (Galatians 3:21-24)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”                     (Ephesians 2:8-10)

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”  (1 John 4:10)

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy.”  (Titus 3:4,5)

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD will never count against him.”  (Romans 4:7,8)

He died once for all, when He shed His blood for you and me

Once for all, so from sin’s power we’d be set free

Taking all God’s hatred for the sin we love that only leads to death

Jesus hung in our stead upon the cross until He took His final breath

Pain beyond our comprehension He endured on our behalf

Our sin demanded justice, so Jesus chose to endure God’s wrath

No other sacrifice is needed, for our debt to sin He paid in full

And the perfect sacrifice of the Son of God was enough to break sin’s overwhelming pull

Still many reject the love He expressed, when He died on Mount Calvary

Some choose instead to continue in open rebellion and hidden sin, refusing His grace that would

set them free

Others depend on good works and their own righteous deeds, and hope the good will outweigh

the bad they have done

And some so horrified by sins they’ve committed, can’t seem to accept God’s forgiveness paid with

the blood of His One and Only Son

But this fact is clear, so solid and true

That Jesus’ death was sufficient to pay for all sin and shame for me and you

Our sins have been atoned for, heaven’s gates are opened wide

So don’t cling to your religion, false doctrine, sin, or pride

Turn from sin, place your trust fully in Him

For only by trusting in His one perfect sacrifice you can know you will one day enter in
