Capture Pope Francis picture - 4UPDATED 9/24/15, 9/25/15, and 10/9/15 (See information below under Related Videos).

For those of you who still aren’t aware of it, tomorrow, September 22, 2015, is the long awaited day that many have been looking forward to; Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pope, will be coming to the United States. As you can see from his official schedule below, he will be quite busy! I will be focusing on a few of those things listed on his schedule, and sharing some important information with you, and some Biblical truth, as well, a little later in this post. So let’s continue on:

Many people are excitedly preparing for his visit. That includes many people in Philadelphia who are scurrying  about preparing four shrines in order to attract visitors: The shrines of St. John Newmann, St. Katherine Drexel, St. Rita of Cascia, and the Miraculous Medal shrine. (See videos below). And, according to the following article, “evangelism is their main goal.” No, it will not be the Biblical gospel that they will be proclaiming, but the gospel according to Rome, that sadly offers no assurance of salvation to precious Catholics. (I was raised Catholic and attended twelve years of Catholic school, so I know very well what Catholicism teaches).

More than a  million people are expected to travel to see the Pope. And for those looking to find that perfect keepsake, there will be a wide variety of souvenirs to choose from. Including a plush Pope Francis doll:

Here are the shrines that are being prepared for the Pope’s visit. Pray for discernment and test what you will hear in these videos against Scripture:

Pope Francis is seen as a loving and kind person, and called “the people’s pope” by many people. Some evangelical Christian leaders, such as Rick Warren, are very impressed by him, as well, and even referred to him as “our new pope” in an interview with a Catholic television host on EWTN. And, as you will soon see by the quick capture further below, Rick Warren will be preaching with Cardinal Sean Patrick O’Malley for Pope Francis’ visit on Friday September 25th. Many Christians are calling for him to repent for his continued effort seeking to unite Christians with the Roman Catholic church, while choosing to ignore the many serious theological differences.

Now I’d like to draw your attention to some of the key points of interest concerning what’s on Pope Francis’ schedule during his visit to the United States which has many people wondering — and speculating — as to what will actually take place:

On Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at 9:15 a.m. Pope Francis will be having a personal meeting with President Barack Obama. Wouldn’t you love to hear what they will be talking about!

Later that same day at 4:15 p.m., Pope Francis will be presiding at the “celebration of Holy Mass for the Canonization of Blessed Fr. Junipero Serra” –in spite of much controversy! You can read all about it in the following article:

On Thursday, September 24th, at 9:20 a.m., Pope Francis will be the very first pope in the history of the United States to address a joint session of the U.S. Congress. Many wonder what his seemingly extremely important message will focus on. Some suggest it may be the predicted “climate chaos” mentioned by the French Foreign Minister in his meeting with John Kerry  on May 13th 2014:

I share this video with you not as an endorsement of the people in the following video, nor as a promotion of what is suggested may happen in September of 2015. I share this with you just as information concerning what is being discussed as to what may possibly soon take place.

On Friday, September 25th Pope Francis will be in New York. At 8:30 a.m. he is scheduled to address the United Nations general assembly of world leaders, which also leads many wondering and speculating as to what he will be talking about. Rumor has it that he will again be addressing climate change, because in his encyclical that was “leaked before the expected June 18th release date,” he calls it’s “the greatest threat to humanity,” and therefore he may be jointly enforcing making some disturbing requirements suggestions as to what must should be done in order to save the planet:

Many also speculate that he may be calling for a redistribution of wealth:

However, time will tell.

Later that same day at 11:30 a.m., Pope Francis will take part in a “multi-religious service at 9/11 Memorial and Museum, World Trade Center.”

It will most likely be very similar to the multi-religious service that took place in Italy in 1986 at the Basilica of St. Francis when John Paul II reigned as pope. In Dave Hunt’s video, A Woman Rides The Beast, (posted below), he said the following:

“In 1986, Pope John Paul II gathered in Assisi Italy, the leaders of the world’s major religions to pray for peace. There were snake worshipers, fire worshipers, spiritists, animists, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, North American witch doctors. I watched in astonishment as they walked to the microphone to pray. The pope said they were all praying to the same God, and that their prayers were creating a spiritual energy that was bringing about a new climate for peace. John Paul II allowed his good friend the Dali Lama to put the Buddha on the altar in St. Peter’s Church in Assisi and with his monks to have a Buddhist worship ceremony there while Shintoists chanted and rang their bells outside.” ( Dave Hunt – A Woman Rides The Beast, starting at the 14:58 minute mark).

As you can see from the quick capture below, on Friday September 25th Rick Warren will also be preaching along with Cardinal Sean Patrick O’Malley for Pope Francis’ visit. Another example of how Rick Warren is choosing to compromise with Biblical Christianity by disregarding Biblical truth (2 Corin. 6:14-18, 2 Corin. 11:4, Gal. 1:6-9) in order to form a false unity with the Roman Catholic Church.

On Saturday, September 26th, Pope Francis will then travel to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families where, according to THIS  article, he “will give a talk on religious liberty and meet with immigrants at Independence Hall.”

On Sunday evening, September 27th at 8:00 p.m., Pope Francis will head back to Rome, and his historic visit to the United States will come to an end.

In his short 2 1/2 year reign as pope thus far, Pope Francis has managed to stir up a major amount of controversy! Here are just a few of the very shocking things that he has said; some stories were true, and some are claimed to have been distorted:

1) TRUE: “When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. but that is not so.” (Read the entire article at the link below:

2)According to the article by Independent at the link below, the following statement that Pope Francis reportedly said is –TRUE:

“You ask me if the God of the Christians forgives those who don’t believe and don’t seek the faith. I start out by saying — and this is the fundamental thing — that God’s mercy has no limits if you go to him with a sincere and contrite heart. The issue for those who do not believe in God is to obey their conscience.”

But then again, according to point 2 in THIS ARTICLE  by the Christian Post, it states the following concerning what Pope Francis actually meant:

“The Pope… simply reminded the faithful that there can be, and is, goodness, or natural virtue, outside the Church. And that Christ’s death on the Cross redeemed all men. He paid the price so that every man could come to God and be saved.”

3) This rather bizarre story is –TRUE: It has been reported that while Pope Francis was preaching, in order to make a point he said that he would baptize Martians. THIS ARTICLE by TIME quoted Pope Francis as saying the following:

“If–for example–tomorrow an expedition of Martians came, and some of them came to us, here…Martians, right? Green, with that long nose and big ears, just like children paint them…And one says, ‘But I want to be baptized!’ What would happen?”

The same article goes on to point out something rather strange, but interesting, about Jesuit priest, Jose (Gabriel) Fumes whom I learned about late last year:

“The Vatican’s chief astronomer, Argentine Jesuit father Jose  Fumes, explained the possibility of extraterrestrial life in 2008 when he too said that God’s mercy could be offered to aliens if it were needed. He even cited Pope Francis’ namesake to make his point. “This is not in contrast with the faith, because we cannot place limits on the creative freedom of God,” Fumes said. “To use St. Francis’ words, if we consider earthly creatures as ‘brothers’ and ‘sisters,’ why can’t we also speak of an ‘extraterrestrial brother?'”

Here is a video I saw concerning Jose Gabriel Fumes:

Here is a video on the Vatican’s telescope they call LUCIFER, which stands for Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility With Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research, and is located in Tucson, AZ.

(See also the Playlist on ‘NASA and The Vatican’s Infrared Telescope Called LUCIFER’ below under Related Videos).

And the last bit of information that I would like to share with you that adds to how bizarre all of this is, is the fact that the U.N. appointed earth’s first Ambassador to reach out to –aliens!

4) TRUE, but reports claim this story was rather DISTORTED: Although it was originally reported that the Pope said that those who follow him on Twitter will be released from Purgatory sooner, the actual story is just as disturbing:

Capture Pope Francis - World Youth Day - Papal Indulgences via television, radio, or social communication(SOURCE)

For those of you who were not raised Catholic, please allow me to explain a few things to you so that you understand the magnitude of what has been stated in the article above. A ‘Plenary Indulgence‘ as defined by the Vatican website is as follows:

Capture Indulgences - Vatican website(SOURCE)

In other words, what Pope Francis was actually saying, is that those who would choose to either follow him on “social media” (Twitter or Facebook, etc.), during the World Youth Day event, or actually attend World Youth Day, as well as follow the prescribed usual conditions, which are “sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer in accordance with the intentions of the Holy Father,” they would receive complete forgiveness for their sins (a Plenary Indulgence) for that one day, or they may apply this Plenary Indulgence to one of their deceased loved ones who are in ‘Purgatory.’

Catholics are taught that Purgatory is a place where Catholics go who die in the state of grace but still have to pay for the temporal punishment due for sin:

“All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their salvation; but after death they undergo purification , so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven.” PARA 1030 CCC

But one never knows how long their loved one will have to spend in this place they call Purgatory. This is very disturbing for many reasons. First of all, the concept of purgatory denies the sufficiency of Jesus’ death to pay the penalty for our sins. Jesus fully satisfied God’s wrath that he has towards us because of our sins.

In spite of the fact that Roman Catholicism may teach that “the guilt has already been forgiven,” to say that there is something more that needs to be done in order to remove “the temporal punishment due to sins” is pure blasphemy! This is what God’s Word has to say:

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD will never count against him.” (Romans 4:7,8)

Many people are wondering if Pope Francis is trying to send out a cryptic  prophetic, terrifying, message since he began recommending the following book as one that he wants everyone to read:

Capture Pope Francis - Book he recommends - Lord of the World

Geoffrey Grider of Now The End Begins shares the following information concerning this book:

“The book he wants everyone to read is centered around two main people — the Antichrist and the Catholic pope. Seriously, we couldn’t make this stuff up.” (SOURCE)

Only God knows what will take place during these meetings with Pope Francis, regardless of the many who are predicting that an end times scenario is about to unfold. Whatever happens, God is still in control.

The most important thing for each of us to focus on is to make sure that we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by placing our complete trust in Him and His propitiatory sacrifice that He made on our behalf that completely satisfied God’s wrath that He has towards each of us because of our sins. Our salvation (being accepted by God), does not depend on our good works and obeying the commandments; it is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. God’s Word is clear:

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.” (Titus 2:11-14)

In spite of Pope Francis’ statement rejecting the faith of  “those who believe you can have a personal direct and immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside of the communion and mediation of the church” by calling them “temptations” that “are dangerous and harmful,” we must choose instead to believe what God’s Word has to say:

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men — the testimony given in its proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5)

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” (Colossians 2:8)

“And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and He is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9)

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.  How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death so that we may serve the living God!” (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.  Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.  Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.  But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

“For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.  But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.  Before this faith came, we were held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.  So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:21-24)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”  (1 John 4:10)

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we have done, but because of His mercy.”  (Titus 3:4,5)

“Anyone who does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about His Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” (1 John 5:11-13)

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.  Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD will never count against him.” (Romans 4:7,8)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men — the testimony given in its proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:5,6)

Lord willing, I will be sharing a very important post with you focusing on Harvest Bible Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 26th, so be watching for that if you have some concerns about what is taking place there.

No Mysticism Monday today since I have been working many hours and many days on this post. Lord willing, in October I hope to be sharing a complete post with you focusing on mysticism (which will be much longer than my usual Mysticism Monday posts).

One of the many disturbing things you will hear in the following video series, will be Jesuit priest and astronomer, George Coyne, sharing how he believes that we were made from “star dust,” and “developed consciousness,” and believes Jesus Christ was also made of star dust:

worship-4-3-1Welcome to another ‘TESTIMONY TUESDAY.’ Lord willing, at least once a month on Tuesdays, whenever I come across a video or an article that either presents a Biblical testimony of someone coming to the understanding  of the true  gospel, or a testimony of someone who was set free from a cult or some form of spiritual deception, etc., I will post it for you with the hope that it will bless and encourage you, and, above all, so that God would receive glory and honor for setting these people free.

It is also my hope and prayer that when I share these testimonies with you on Tuesdays, God will use His Word, and the Biblical truth presented in these testimonies to set many other people free from the same bondage and spiritual deception that the people in the videos and articles I choose to share with you have been set free from.

And now for today’s TESTIMONY TUESDAY:

Below you will find a Playlist of an interview with the very detailed testimony of Sandra Tanner, who is the great-great-granddaughter of Brigham Young, the second president of the  Mormon Church. In the next video you will hear a  shorter version of her testimony, followed by a time of Q&A.

You will hear Sandra share in detail, her struggles as she was continually presented with information that caused her to question her Mormon beliefs. She was first presented with many of the sermons that Brigham Young himself had preached which ultimately led her to take a serious look at Mormonism and its history.

As time went on she was presented with Biblical truth and her eyes were opened to see that the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. She also came to understand God’s love by reading 1 John 4:9,10.

During her presentation you will also hear her share some of the beliefs of Mormonism, but she presents them in a loving way as to be sensitive to the fact that there are possibly some Mormons in attendance. Her goal is always to glorify God and to present Mormons with truth based on documented evidence from multiple sources to make the facts speak for themselves. She also presents many Scriptures in her presentations trusting that God will open the minds of many Mormons to the truth that is clearly revealed in His Word.

I pray that you will be blessed by her testimony, and that it will cause you to be filled with compassion for the many Mormons who are truly sincere about their beliefs and their desire to serve God, but who are sincerely deceived. I pray also that hearing her testimony will lead you to reach out in love and share Biblical truth with a Mormon when God gives you the opportunity to do so when they come knocking at your door.

If you are a Mormon with questions, please consider visiting Sandra’s  website that she and her husband started on January 1, 1983 –  UTAH LIGHTHOUSE MINISTRY, which ‘documents problems with the claims of Mormonism and compares LDS doctrines with Christianity,’ as well as shares the testimonies of many other former Mormons. Sandra’s husband is now with the Lord, but you can read about their ministry on their  ABOUT US page. You will also find many ONLINE RESOURCES that will help answer any questions you may possibly have concerning the teachings of Mormonism.

Above all, if you are a Mormon I pray that you will take the time to test the teachings of Mormonism against the truth of God’s Word and think for yourself, because your eternal destiny is at stake. I also pray that you will consider listening to Sandra Tanner’s testimony. Your devotion to serve God to the extent that you all do is truly admirable, but don’t you want to know for certain that what you believe is really true, based on facts and not on your feelings; the burning in the bosom?

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

~Mary Dalke/Living4HisGlory

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned.” (Galatians 1:6-9)

“But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” (2 Corinthians 11:3,4)

“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” (1 Timothy 4:16)

“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through Him all things were made; without Him  nothing was made that has been made.  He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.  He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive Him.  Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:1-3,10-13)

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:15-17)

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.   After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.  So He became as much superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is superior to theirs.  For to which of the angels did God ever say,  ‘You are my Son; today I have become your Father?’ (Hebrews 1:1-5)

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:9,10)

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith –and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not of works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9)

How much more then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God.” (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“Therefore brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body,  and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:19-23)

“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst.  But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.  Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.  Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:15-17)

“Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true.” (Acts 17:11)

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.” (2 Peter 2:1)

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1,2)

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction.  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine.  Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.  They will turn their ears from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8)

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.”(Acts 20:26-31)

“Does the LDS Church Still Teach That Heavenly Father Was Once a Man?” “LDS Teaching on Lucifer,” “LDS Leaders Define Their Concept of Jesus Christ,” and many, many more.

Sometimes the pressures of life can exhaust even those of us who are Christians…emotionally and physically, as well as spiritually.   When that happens, many times we are unable to be sensitive to God’s leading, and we can miss  opportunities that He has for us so that He may use us for His glory to be able to speak words of truth to those who are held in bondage to lies and deception.

I found that to be true recently, as I almost turned down an opportunity to spend time with a friend on a day when my flesh just wanted to go home and rest after a hard day at work.  Maybe one day I’ll share that experience, but for now I will just say that God made me realize that we should never turn down an opportunity to speak with someone, as long as our priorities are in order, and we are not putting ourselves in a situation that would  dishonor God, and cause us to possibly slowly drift into sin.

In other words, never take time to talk with someone if your children are waiting for you to pick them up from school, or you have something else that is equally as important for you to attend to.  And never get involved with an unbeliever of the opposite sex thinking you can lead them to Christ one day, (what’s known as ‘dating evangelism’) and never spend time alone witnessing to a man — if you are a woman, single or married– and the man is married, or if you are a man–single or married–never spend time alone witnessing to a woman if she is married.  Sin is always gradual, and before we know it, we can become emotionally involved and do something we will regret for the rest of our lives, or cause the other person involved to sin by leaving their spouse.  In these instances it’s best to refer a man to another Christian man, and a woman to another Christian woman if someone needs godly wisdom and direction.

None of that was a concern for me, however, since it was a young Buddhist woman that I got together with, and I have no young children that would be waiting somewhere for me.  As I chose to die to myself and the desires of my flesh to just go home, I saw how God provided the strength I needed to continue my day with her, and the wisdom and courage He gave me to say a little of what was on my heart to share with her about Jesus.  That day led to another day together, and I pray there will be more opportunities that God will give me to share His love and truth with her, and trust that one day her eyes will be opened by God’s Holy Spirit so that she will come to understand the hope and freedom that can be found in Christ alone.

Those of us who were once bound by religious deception and have come to know the forgiveness and freedom that is found when God opens our hearts and minds to understand the gospel message, know also the overwhelming joy that fills our hearts when we chose to respond to His Holy Spirit and repent of our sin and place our trust completely in what Christ has already done for us.  We come to deeply appreciate the fact that ‘Jesus was pierced and crushed because of the wretched things we have done,’ (Isaiah 53:5) and our heart’s desire is then to live in a way that is pleasing to God, and also to reach out and share the ‘good news’ of God’s mercy and grace with those who are still in spiritual darkness and deception.

As we attempt to share God’s truth with others, we then come to realize our inability to make His truth known to someone unless we spend time with God in prayer, and study His Word so we will be able to help them to see the truth in God’s Word.  We also come to realize that no matter how hard we try to show someone the truth, ‘we are fighting a spiritual battle’ (Ephesians 6:12) and ‘Satan has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they are unable to see the the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God’ (2 Corinthians 4:4) and it’s only God who can open a man’s mind to the Scriptures and enable them to understand  the truth,  and it’s only God’s ‘Holy Spirit  who can convict a person of sin,’ (John 16:8) and ‘God who grants them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth, so they can escape from the trap of Satan who has taken them captive to do his will, and they will then be able to do God’s will.’  (2 Timothy 2:25,26)

There are so many people deceived by the traditions and doctrines of men, and it’s only by the power of the Holy Spirit that their eyes can be opened to the truth of God’s Word so that they can be set  free.  Some believe in ‘reincarnation’…thinking that they can right the wrongs they have committed in this life by coming back and having another chance .  Catholicism teaches the doctrine of ‘purgatory,’ …a place where one goes after death, where they will suffer and be ‘purified’ from sin after spending an undeterminable amount of time burning in fire, and then they will eventually enter heaven .  In both cases of ‘reincarnation’ and ‘purgatory’, the person is left with the false idea of hope beyond death.  God’s Word is clear in Hebrews 9:27 that there is no second chance after death…”…it is appointed unto man once to die, but after this, the judgment.” (KJV)

Purgatory makes a mockery of the atoning work that Jesus accomplished when He shed His blood for us on the cross, died, and rose from the dead.  Right before Jesus died, He uttered these words…”It is finished.”  Tete’lestai..’the debt was paid in full.’  There is *no need for any more sacrifices to be made to atone for sin, (*I will address this issue at another time concerning yet another related false doctrine of the Catholic church that does not allow precious people in the Catholic church to come to the realization of  the joyous fact that Jesus paid our debt to sin in full) and therefore no need for a place of temporary punishment after death to ‘purify’ a person in order for them to enter heaven.  If you place your trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross as making complete atonement for your sins, and not place your trust in anything you have done or can ever do in an attempt to earn His forgiveness, by the authority of God’s Word I can tell you that you can know  that you will be in heaven when you die…

(All words emphasized in the following Scripture  have been done by me).

“Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”  (John 17:3)

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.  He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”  (1 John 5:11-13)

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”  (John 3:36)

“I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins.”  (John 8:24)

We must, however, have a belief that transforms us from within, and this can only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit, because God’s Word also says that the demons know who Jesus is, (Mark 1:24, Luke 4:34) and yet they made the choice to rebel against Him.  God’s Word makes it clear that we must ‘repent,’ (turn from what we formerly believed and turn towards God, placing our trust only in what Jesus Christ has already done to pay the debt for sin –in full). We then obey out of love and appreciation for all that Jesus Christ has done for us.

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.”  (1 Peter 2:24)

Jesus said,  “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be  preached in His name to all nations…”  (Luke 24:46,47)

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”  (Acts 3:19)

“I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.” (Acts 20:21)

“…I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.” (Acts 26:20)

“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

Being the only Christian in a family of Catholics, my heart breaks for them…I want so deeply for them to know that ‘salvation is a gift of God,’ and that ‘it’s not by works.’   I want them to know the amazing grace of God and the joy that comes when a person grasps the depth of the love of God that He would provide a way for us to have a relationship with Himself by sacrificing His only begotten Son.  I want them to come to the realization that their good works that they are placing their trust in to get them into heaven will never be accepted by a sinless, Holy God to gain entry into heaven, because God has already provided the only and ultimate sacrifice to atone for our sins, by placing all our sins, and pouring out all His wrath intended for us, upon His sinless Son, Jesus Christ, who was, (and is) in fact, God in the flesh.

The following poem came about because of the overwhelming desire that is in my heart to make the gospel known to my new Buddhist friend, and the realization of the spiritual battle that lies ahead of me as I attempt to make known the truth to her, even though it may destroy our friendship.  It will only be God who can shatter through the spiritual darkness she is in, because there is no way that I alone, no matter how hard I try by human effort, can convince her that her beliefs are not true.  Therefore, with God’s wisdom and direction by His Holy Spirit, I will instead try to share with her the reliability of Scripture, the revelation of God’s love through His redemptive plan through Christ to redeem sinful man to Himself, and the amazing truth that we can have a personal relationship with the God who created all the beauty we see that surrounds us.  To God be all the glory when her eyes are opened to the truth, and I pray that one day she will become His child.

  • Savior is ones self and ones works

  • God is an impersonal force

  • No moral absolutes

  • World is an illusion

  • Desires need to be eliminated

  • Ignorance is the problem not sin

  • Nirvana is the ultimate state  –  nothingness

As hard as it will be to try and share the truth with her, I cannot remain silent about the fact that her only hope can be found in Jesus Christ.  She needs to know that He is much more than just a prophet, and He is not ‘one Christ among many who came to teach us how to achieve enlightenment  and reach ‘nirvana,’ (the ultimate goal in Buddhism, where the person become ‘one with the universe.’  ‘Nirvana’  means ‘never having to be reborn’)…To remain silent is something I cannot do.

It is not a coincidence that she decided to become friends with me.  I believe it is a ‘Divine appointment’ that we were to meet, and trust the day will come when her eyes will be opened and that her quest to reach ‘godhood’ will be shattered when she realizes she is a sinner – as all of us are – in need of a Savior, and that God’s love and truth will be revealed to her in a very real way, and that she will accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior and the only true God.

I posted the song below, because it expresses the desire of my heart as I pray and ask God to ‘give me the words to speak,’ to my young Buddhist friend, my family, and all He brings into my life, because without His wisdom and guidance by His Holy Spirit, I do not have the ability to penetrate the spiritual barrier that blinds them to the truth and the beauty of the gospel.

God bless you, and thank you very much for stopping by and for taking time to read my poems : )

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9,10)

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.  For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?  Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)

“And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”                (Hebrews 9:27) KJV

“You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light.” (2 Samuel 22:29)

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)

“Jesus answered,  “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)

Die to self that’s what I must do,

In order to live my life fully for you,

Being willing to yield to Your Spirit’s call,

Relying upon Your strength when I have no strength at all,

Immersing myself in the truth of Your Word,

Praying You’ll fill me with Your wisdom to share with those who have

never heard,

The glorious message of God’s forgiveness by grace,

That’s it not about works, but that Jesus died in our place,

So many held captive, they’re bound to a lie,

Believe if they just lead a good life, then shortly after they die,

They’ll either enter heaven to see all its glories, when their faith becomes sight,

Or enter another body till they make every wrong right,

Lord, I know it’s only by Your Spirit that Your truth can be known,

But I yield myself to You, in hope that through me Your truth will be shown,

To those who walk in darkness, please give them eyes to see,

The truth and beauty of the gospel, and by Your Holy Spirit please set them
