INTRODUCTION

Sadly, we live at a time when many of us are like sheep without a shepherd. Many once trusted pastors and teachers have forgotten their God-given role of protecting their sheep from ravenous wolves and have instead chosen to willingly join with them wholeheartedly. Therefore, many precious Christians are prey for the enemy as they attempt to seek a new church where God’s Word is being preached without compromise, and some end up getting involved with another church where yet another form of compromise or spiritual deception is taking place, which is what has happened to me many times now. With that in mind I will rarely be sharing any sermons from any pastors with you here any more, because the more I find out about them, the more I realize that the only one we can completely trust is Jesus Christ. So, I will mainly just be sharing videos like the one below that just have the audio of God’s Word accompanied with pictures highlighting some of the main verses from each particular book of the Bible.

When time allows, I hope that you will listen to the final remaining audio book of the New Testament that I have posted below for you — the Book of Philemon. It’s less than three minutes long. Reading or listening to God’s Word on a daily basis allows God to speak truth to us, to encourage us, to inspire us, to comfort us, to free us from worry, doubt, and fear, to exhort and convict us of sin, and it also allows the Holy Spirit to expose any error that we may have accepted as truth, and He will guide us into all truth.

For those of you who have yet to come to understand all that Jesus Christ accomplished for us when He  willingly entered our sin-filled world wrapped in human flesh as an innocent baby, to one day become our Savior, I pray you will come to understand and believe and receive the good news of the Biblical gospel:

Still being God, the second Person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ came into our world to rescue us from sin and hell; He grew and lived the perfect, sinless life that we could never live, to become the spotless, Lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world. He willingly hung on a cross and suffered the extremely brutal death of crucifixion in our place.  God the Father, poured our His full wrath that we deserve for our sins upon His one and only Son — Jesus Christ, God in the flesh — who paid the debt in full for every one of our sins, no matter how heinous the sin may be! He died, was buried, and gloriously arose from the dead bodily on the third day for our justification. Salvation is a free gift; we are not saved by good works or by obeying the law, or Jesus Christ died in vain! (Galatians 2:21) If a person chooses to place their trust in the only provision that God has made for us to be forgiven and to be reconciled to Himself, (which is by trusting in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation), according to God’s very Word we will then have the assurance of eternal life with Him in heaven. (1 John 5:9-13) That, dear reader, is the good news of the Biblical gospel that is not being heard in many churches today! Please get yourself a Bible (preferably a King James version because many verses in newer translations have been either omitted or drastically changed in such a way that changes the meaning of the verses), and read the Gospel of John, the Books of Romans, Ephesians, Hebrews, and 1,2, and 3 John to begin with, so that you might come to know the joyously good news of all that Jesus Christ accomplished for us, and the depth of the love that God has for you. (Ephesians 3:17-19) (1 John 4:9,10)

Thank you very much for stopping by today.

God Bless You

UPDATE:

Lord willing, new post coming later this week. It will be another post that will focus on how New Age mysticism is leading many Christians away from Biblical Christianity. This post will not only emphasize the extreme importance of seriously reading and studying God’s Word, but also the extreme importance of  praying for spiritual discernment, ‘examining the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (and done by those who claim to teach and preach God’s Word) is true’ (Acts 17:11) or not, and becoming aware of the tactics of our enemy, the devil, so that we will always be alert and avoid being led astray by the many strategies that the devil has because of his intentions to deceive and to devour us!

Welcome to another Scripture Sunday post. I pray that you will take some time to listen to this video of the whole Gospel of Matthew as you go about your day at home, whether you are preparing or eating your meals, cleaning the room where you keep your computer, or before you turn in for the night. God’s Word brings encouragement, guidance, correction, and comfort, but most of all, God’s Word brings truth and exposes error.

Thank you very much for stopping by.

“And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said unto him, I am: and ye shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” (Mark 14:60-62)

Today I would like to introduce you to a dear Sister-in-Christ that I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few months or so. Her name is Barbara Wilhelm and she writes for HOLDING HIS WORD HIGHER

She just completed her in depth report on the extremely popular devotional, JESUS CALLING, that was written by Sarah Young and has sadly captivated the hearts and minds of millions.  You may even be one of them. If not, then you may know of someone who has begun to set aside God’s Word, the Bible, and instead now yearns for a fresh new word from Sarah Young’s Jesus, which is not the Jesus Christ of the Bible, as you will soon see. If you know of someone who is deeply mesmerized by these devotionals, please consider sharing this very important report with them and pray that they come to realize just how unbiblical these messages really are, as well as the practice by which Sarah Young receives these messages.

And now, here is PART 1 of Barbara Wilhelm’s special report concerning Sarah Young’s devotional, Jesus Calling:

To read Part 2 and 3 of Barbara’s in depth report, entitled,ANOTHER GOD,’ and ‘ANOTHER JESUS,’ and to watch for her final post in this series, please go to HERESCOPE where you will also find many other excellent in depth articles written by Sarah Leslie, Gaylene Goodroad, the late Pastor Larry DeBruyn, who earnestly contended for the faith until the very end of his life, Martin Erdmann, and others. Or, if you’d prefer, you can simply click on the links below. I will add the link to PART 4 for you as soon as it is officially posted on HERESCOPE, which should be within the next few days, according to Barbara.

 PART 2 – ANOTHER GOD

PART 3 – ANOTHER JESUS

Herescope is an online journal revealing heresies and false teachings that are affecting the church today. You will be blessed and greatly informed by what you will read there, and you will also come to realize even more, the importance of reading God’s Word and ‘examining the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (and done by those who claim to speak for God) is true.’ (Acts 17:11)

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time to read this well written and researched report on Jesus Calling that was done by my dear Sister-in-Christ, Barbara Wilhelm.

UPDATE:

Lord willing, for most of the rest of the day today, I will be working on trying to finish writing my next post in the series,  APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY, OR DEMONS IN DISGUISE – EXAMINING THE EVIDENCE IN LIGHT OF SCRIPTURE, and hope to have it finished before the end of this month.

Lord willing, I am hoping to be able to present you with another False Teacher Friday post during the month of March.

To those of you who may have been wondering why I have not posted anything recently, I deeply apologize! I have been trying to make time to work on writing the second post in the present series, APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY, OR DEMONS IN DISGUISE? EXAMINING THE EVIDENCE IN LIGHT OF SCRIPTURE, however, a lot has been happening lately that has caused my free time to be extremely limited! Such as:

1) I am continuing to look for a new church since I am still churchless, (if you’d like, you can read why I left my former church after attending there for over five years by reading: CHURCHLESS ONCE AGAIN)

2) My engine light turned on in my car, and after discovering that it would cost $2,700.00 to repair my 2003 car, I realized it was time for me to start looking to purchase another used car

3) AND, since the childcare job that I am blessed to have again for the same precious child that I had before turned out to be for only one day each week instead of the four days that it was originally going to be for because the mom had a change of plans, and because I know how unlikely it is that I would be able to get some type of job writing from a Christian perspective, I knew that it was time for me to seriously start praying and looking for some other type of job that I would enjoy so that God could use it to provide for my immediate and future needs

Now that two of the three major concerns have been taken care of, I need to devote some of my present time to preparing for my new position as a local Freelance Floral Designer and teacher of Floral Design For Beginners at my neighborhood craft store. I am in the process of setting up a new blog for my new business that I dedicate to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, trusting that He will indeed supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory. However, I want all of you to know that I am as dedicated to standing for Biblical truth and exposing error as I ever was, and, Lord willing, I will continue to write and present you with posts that I pray God will use to make all of you realize the extreme importance of being a follower of Jesus Christ alone and not a follower of any man (or woman) and their ministry, as well as the extreme importance of reading and studying God’s Word so that you will never be led astray by the many spiritually deceptive teachings and doctrines of men that not only have become popular these days, but also have led so many precious Christians captive because they fail to test everything they read and hear against the truth of God’s Word –in context.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

INTRODUCTION, FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO THIS SERIES, AND SOME CLOSING THOUGHTS BEFORE THIS SUMMER SERIES COMES TO AN END AND BEGINS AGAIN NEXT JULY –LORD WILLING

Because there seems to be such a lack of emphasis on God’s Word these days, I wanted to start a new series that will simply focus on God’s Word. So, Lord willing, at the beginning of each and every day I will just be sharing a picture with a Bible verse or a short passage from God’s Word with you, to help you start your day off right by helping to turn you focus off of the problems in your life and on to God,  who desires for you to come to Him with all of your burdens and to surrender them to Him.

Maybe some of you are going through a trial right now and you need some hope and encouragement. I am at that place right now. Reading and reflecting on the truth of God’s Word always has a way of making us realize that God is truly aware of what we are going through. He knows our thoughts and sees every tear that we may cry.

Dear Christian, we must stay in God’s Word to keep us connected to Him so that His strength will be made perfect when we are weak, and so that He can give us His grace which is always sufficient to see us through the hard times in life. I know that you know this, but when we are in the valley, so to speak, when the circumstances are so overwhelming that we just feel as if we can’t make it through another day, God’s living Word breathes new life into our weary souls and enables us to carry on in His strength.

There were times when things were so hard in my life that I felt like God had abandoned me. But those of us who truly belong to Him (because we have place our trust in Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as being fully sufficient to pay for all of our sins and guilt, and know that He was also buried and that He gloriously arose from the dead for our justification),  know that simply isn’t true! Jesus promised that He would never leave or forsake us! Therefore, we must live by faith and trust Him in the midst of our heartbreaking trials and difficult situations, regardless of our feelings of hurt and confusion.

After going through a very hard time in my life and realizing that I was beginning to have  bitterness towards God and was starting to turn away from Him because He wasn’t doing what I had prayed, believed, and trusted that He would do, I was struck with the overwhelming reality of what a horrible thing I was doing and asked God to forgive me! I came to clearly realize that as Christians we are to love God for who He is; our love for Him should not be based on what He does or doesn’t do in our lives. We must love Him for what He has already done by providing salvation for us through the sacrifice of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who willingly died in our place and took upon Himself the full wrath that was intended for all of us because of our sins! What amazing love!

Sometimes we forget just how encouraging and living and active God’s Word really is and how it can address exactly what we are going through at the moment our lives start falling apart. But we must choose to trust Him and not become bitter and angry. We must cast our cares on Him and never forget that He is in control and aware of everything that is happening. We must also keep in mind that because sin entered the world when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, therefore sickness, death, and the evil, hurtful choices that people make by the acts of their own free will, are the consequences of that one sin. So, we must not blame God for the evil that befalls us at the hands of others. He is there waiting to pick up the pieces of our shattered lives and to renew our minds with the truth of His Word, and to comfort us and heal us emotionally –IF we choose to turn to Him.

If someone has wronged you, express your hurt and anger that is within your broken and shattered heart to God. Make the choice to forgive the person before Him with your will and not based on your feelings, even if the time never comes for that person to express any sorrow to you for hurting you. Sadly, for some of us that day may never come when we hear the words, “I’m sorry.” Therefore, we are only hurting ourselves if we choose to store up bitterness and anger within our hearts.

Maybe you have been passed over time and time again for that much deserved promotion. Or maybe you have unjustly lost your job. Or it could be that you have taken a stand for what is Biblical and your warnings have been ignored and you have been made to feel as if you have no idea what you are talking about. Whatever you are going through, God’s Word will always bring you comfort, peace, encouragement and direction.

God’s Word also brings conviction, as well, which may be hard to receive at first, but if we are truly a child of God we should appreciate His loving discipline. If we choose to submit to His discipline, we will see how He will give us His strength to overcome sinful habits and cleanse us in order to use us for His glory. One day we will then be able to look back and appreciate how He intervened in our lives in order to prevent us from the consequences of the sin that we once clung to and refused to turn from.

And, oh, the many warnings in Scripture that God has given us to warn us about how spiritual deception and the many false teachers that will arise in the last days, and the importance of knowing His Word and testing the teachings of everyone we listen to so that we will not be deceived! These verses will also be presented to you in this daily series.

All of these important topics that I briefly mentioned to you in this post will be addressed through these daily verses to help keep you focused on the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS  – Jesus Christ —  and to guide you along life’s way.

For those of you who have yet to place your trust in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and glorious resurrection from the dead as providing the only way to reconcile sinful man with a thrice Holy God, and are instead continuing to wrongly believe that your good works will earn God’s acceptance, I pray that you will choose to place your trust in Jesus Christ alone, very soon! Tomorrow is promised to no one, and your eternal destiny depends upon the choice that you make concerning Jesus Christ:

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)

Please consider reading the gospel of John or the book of Romans, and pray for God to reveal His truth to you. Instead of guilt, regret, fear and sorrow, you can be forgiven for your sins — no matter what you may have done! If you choose to place your trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation, He will free you from condemnation, remove the heavy burden of sorrow and regret, and fill you with His peace that surpasses all human  understanding. He will transform your thinking and your life as you spend time reading the truth of His Word, and He will use all that you have been through for His glory to reach those who are still in bondage to their sins, because they have not yet heard the good news of the Biblical gospel and made that choice to believe the truth about who Jesus Christ is and all that He accomplished for us through His sinless life, His death in our place, and His glorious resurrection from the dead, and all that His Word, the Bible,  has to say.

During the first week of July I prayerfully chose Scriptures that would be encouraging for you. Then we looked at Scriptures concerning what Jesus Christ said about Himself as He spoke figuratively — not literally — to present spiritual truths about Himself, and then we continued with verses focusing on the theme of I AM the Alpha and Omega verses which gives evidence to the fact that Jesus Christ truly is God!

Then we focused on verses that shows the love, strength, and peace that awaits you if you will choose to turn to Him in the midst of your trials and moments of despair. If you have placed your trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation you have the assurance that He will never leave or forsake you! If you have not yet come to the point of realizing that your good works can never earn your way into heaven and that you are a sinner in the eyes of a thrice Holy God, turn to Him now. If you believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, that He lived the perfect, sinless life that you and I could never live, and that He died in your place for your sins and arose from the dead for your justification, then reach out and receive His forgiveness and His love that awaits you. If you do, you will find real hope and true peace that surpasses all human understanding, and you will find that His grace will be sufficient to carry you through the very darkest moments of your life that we all face in one way or another. Turn to Him now.♥

Due to changes in my schedule, instead of this series continuing to be a daily one, I decided to turn this into a Summer series, which will come to an end, today, July 31st, and, Lord willing, this series will begin again next July.

I decided to end this series with one final warning from God’s Word that needs to be brought to your attention in order to stress the extreme importance of the truths presented in these two final verses to further emphasize the importance of reading, studying, and treasuring God’s Word that He has given to us.

Though this post may not be coming to you at the beginning of your day, depending upon where you live, here are your final verses to bring this series to an end until next Summer, Lord willing, followed with some important closing comments concerning the truths presented in these extremely important verses. Please pay careful attention to what God is telling us in these verses:

Did you notice that it is the LORD who is the one who brings the famine of hearing His Word? Could it be that we are presently living at the time of the fulfillment of God’s Word revealed in these verses from Amos? I am sure that many of you will agree that it is getting extremely difficult to find a church where the pastor preaches the truth of God’s Word without compromise. Sadly, I am churchless because of that very reason! I would rather stay home and spend time in God’s Word, pray for my family and other loved ones, and listen to an online sermon like I am presently doing on a Sunday, instead of starting to attend the first church that seems to be Biblical to me without thoroughly checking it out before making it my new church home!

So why is it that many of us are without a church home, or that many of us are on the verge of leaving our church because of compromises that are being made by our pastor? Why is it that so many pastors are seeking to grow their churches through marketing strategies and worldly ways to appeal to the culture instead of simply preaching God’s Word and trusting that God will grow the church as He did in the book of Acts? Are we now witnessing the judgment of God because mankind, for the most part, has rejected God and His Word?

Not only have unbelievers rejected God and His Word, but also many professing Christians are rejecting the truths presented in Scripture and are desiring to have their ears tickled by searching for pastors and teachers who present messages that satisfy their sensual desires.  In 2 Timothy 4:3 it says the following:

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

Is God now allowing mankind to have their desires satisfied, and at the same time  making His Word so scarce that they are spiritually starving because this famine of hearing the Word of God has finally come?

No matter what man may do in an attempt to pervert or to destroy God’s Word, we can be assured that God will preserve His Word forever! (Psalm 119:89, Mathew 5:18, 1 Peter 1:24,25) However, sometimes God may allow us to receive what we thought would satisfy us spiritually, so that we will finally come to realize just how wrong we were and hopefully come to treasure and to cherish His Word!

When I first saw this picture on Photobucket around seven years ago, the verses in Amos Chapter 8 immediately came to mind, so I added them to a copy of the picture on my Photobucket account. To me this picture clearly portrays the spiritual condition of many Christians due to the fact that they go to churches where the Word of God is not accurately being preached, they run off to conferences that feature their favorite pastors and teachers who distort the Word of God, and they read books by their favorite Christian authors who write books that mix a lot of error with truth, all the while neglecting the reading and the studying of God’s living Word, the Bible, and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide them in all truth. These Christians fail to realize that they are starving themselves spiritually as they run off to one spiritually empty place and then on to yet another of the same.

Please don’t let this be you!

Instead, humble yourself before the Lord; cry out to Him and return to Him with all of your heart and ask Him to forgive you for your wanderings and to revive you with the life giving truth of His Word.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

Though this post may not be coming to you at the beginning of your day, depending upon where you live, here is your verse for today:

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

INTRODUCTION – FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO THIS SERIES

This week we focused on verses that shows the love, strength, and peace that awaits you if you will choose to turn to Him in the midst of your trials and moments of despair.

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)

How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.

And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”     (2 Corinthians 12:1-10)

Though this post may not be coming to you at the beginning of your day, depending upon where you live, here is your verse for today, that I have put in its full context for you below the picture.

1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

13 Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

14 For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

20 As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

22 So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

23 Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

27 For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You
