My daughter will not only be spending Christmas Day with me but also she will be spending some time with me in January, so I won’t have any free time to write a lengthy post this Christmas season or any extra time to finish my last post in the series in which we have been comparing some of the teachings that can be found in the Catechism Of The Catholic Church to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible in order to show Catholics the importance of testing their teachings against the truth of God’s Word.
I do, however, want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation to those of you who stop by here from time to time to read my posts. Thank you so very much! I pray that all of you will be able to have a blessed, joyous, Christmas, and a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year.
Regardless of where you may live in this world, we are all living in the midst of very uncertain times. Jesus Christ is the only one who can bring us true hope and peace to carry us through whatever the future may hold for us in 2021.
I wanted to share this song with you that is one of my all time favorite Christmas songs because it beautifully expresses the true meaning of Christmas, as well as the good news of the Biblical gospel. If you have made the choice to place your complete trust in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and glorious resurrection from the dead in bodily form for the forgiveness of your sins, you already have the best gift that you could ever receive! If you haven’t, I pray that you will begin this New Year by doing so. Consider reading through the Gospel of John and other books in the New Testament so that you will come to know Jesus Christ and Biblical truth that can be found in God’s Word. The Old Testament is still relevant for us today because it shows the depravity of man, the faithfulness and mercy of God, the hopelessness that we all have without a Savior, the many prophecies that foretold the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the only one and the only way that God provided for us to save us from our sins, guilt, and shame so that we could have a relationship with Him.
I pray that the day will soon come when you will choose to place your trust in Jesus Christ’s once for all sacrifice as full payment for your sins so that you will receive His peace that surpasses all human understanding, His never ending joy that will fill your heart even in the midst of heartbreaking circumstances, His wisdom to help you deal with the trials that may come your way as you walk down this road called life, and His strength that will be made perfect in your weakness.
God Bless You

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4,5
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16,17
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:5,6
UPDATE:
Lord willing, the final post in the series in which we have been comparing many of the teachings that can be found in the Catechism Of The Catholic Church to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible, will be coming hopefully by the end of this year. Otherwise I hope to finish it by the end of the second week of January 2021.
Thank you very much for stopping by today.
Merry Christmas!

SCRIPTURE SUNDAY SERIES INTRODUCTION
Sadly, many professing Christian pastors and teachers today teach that the Old Testament is no longer important or relevant. However, Jesus often quoted from the Old Testament, and Scripture in the New Testament clearly shows us the importance of the Old Testament, as well:
“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” (1 Corinthians 10:1-12)
“For whatever was written aforetime were written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 KJV)
All of Scripture is important:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
Even before time, as we know it, began, God knew that mankind would choose to rebel against Him and sin, and He already had a plan to redeem mankind (Revelation 13:8) and to establish the only way to reconcile sinful man to Himself, a God who is completely loving, kind, and merciful, but above all, completely Holy and just. He planned to send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the second Person in the Trinity, into our evil, sin-filled world, to live the sinless, perfect life that we could never live, in order to take upon Himself the sins of all mankind and become our substitute; Jesus Christ took upon Himself God’s full wrath for all of our sins and guilt. The The Book of Genesis shows us that even in the most perfect of environments man still chose to sin.
Throughout the Old Testament we see just how depraved mankind is. We read about: Murder, rebellion, incest, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, rape, deceit, thievery, malice, lies, etc., etc. However, as depraved as all of mankind was and still is, he — or she — is not so depraved as to be unable to choose to receive God’s free gift of salvation through placing our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior after hearing or reading the truly good news of the Biblical gospel, as some sadly teach in Reformed Theology and Calvinism.
The Old Testament is also extremely important because: It traces the genealogy of Jesus Christ, foreshadows and prophesies the coming of Jesus Christ, and shows God’s patience with us, as well as His love, His complete holiness, and His hatred for sin. So much more could be said, but my time these days is very limited.
Now I present to you the thirty-eighth Book in God’s Holy Word –Zechariah. I hope and pray that you will take some time throughout your week to (read through or) listen to another very important Book in God’s Holy Word.
Thank you very much for stopping by today.

UPDATE:
I already started writing Part 14 in the series in which we are comparing Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible to many teachings in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. For those of you who are new to this blog, the reason that I am writing this series is because I am a former Catholic who desires to see more precious Catholics come to the knowledge of the truth regarding all that Jesus Christ truly accomplished for us by the sinless life that He led, His willingness to die in our place on the cross for our sins, His burial, and His glorious bodily resurrection from the dead on the third day. The truth can be found in the pages of their own Bibles if only they would read it for themselves and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to them what God is saying to us in His Word instead of simply accepting the Traditions of the Catholic church and how their leadership interprets Scripture.

UPDATE:
Yesterday I had planned on spending most of the day finishing writing PART 10 in the series in which we have been comparing some of the teachings that can be found in the Catechism Of The Catholic Church to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament. However, every time that I tried to access my site I was unable to. Whatever the problem was, I was finally able to connect to my site late in the evening and then spent some time not only doing a little more writing on that post, but also I was able to put this post together for you. Lord willing, I will try to set aside some time today with the hope of finishing PART 10. If not, I will complete it for you as soon as possible.
Welcome to another Scripture Sunday post. I pray that you will take some time to listen to this dramatized version of the whole Gospel of Matthew as you go about your day at home, whether you are preparing or eating your meals, cleaning the room where you keep your computer, or before you turn in for the night. God’s Word brings encouragement, guidance, correction, and comfort, but most of all, God’s Word brings truth and exposes error.
If you have not yet come to the point of realizing who Jesus Christ truly is and come to the understanding of all that He accomplished for you through His sinless life, His death on the cross in your place, and His glorious resurrection from the dead, I pray that God will reveal the truth to you as you take the time to listen to His Word being spoken to you through the video above.
I pray also that many precious Jewish people will come to realize that Jesus truly is the Christ; their long awaited Messiah who came to them to be their Savior two thousand years ago, and will come again soon to rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:10-14)
I pray also that many precious Jewish people will not be deceived by the man of lawlessness; the one who will soon come in his own name, as Scripture declares will sadly happen:
“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report, or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4)
“I am come in my Father’s name and ye receive me not; if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.” (John 5:43)
No matter who you are, or what you sincerely believe with all of your heart to be the truth, the only truth is found in God’s Word, and the only hope for salvation is truly found in Jesus Christ alone.
“Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead; so the last error shall be worse than the first.” (Matthew 27:64)
“After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightening, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,” for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid, yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.” (Matthew 28:1-7)
Thank you very much for stopping by.
God Bless You
