Today I would like to introduce you to a dear Sister-in-Christ that I have had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few months or so. Her name is Barbara Wilhelm and she writes for HOLDING HIS WORD HIGHER

She just completed her in depth report on the extremely popular devotional, JESUS CALLING, that was written by Sarah Young and has sadly captivated the hearts and minds of millions.  You may even be one of them. If not, then you may know of someone who has begun to set aside God’s Word, the Bible, and instead now yearns for a fresh new word from Sarah Young’s Jesus, which is not the Jesus Christ of the Bible, as you will soon see. If you know of someone who is deeply mesmerized by these devotionals, please consider sharing this very important report with them and pray that they come to realize just how unbiblical these messages really are, as well as the practice by which Sarah Young receives these messages.

And now, here is PART 1 of Barbara Wilhelm’s special report concerning Sarah Young’s devotional, Jesus Calling:

To read Part 2 and 3 of Barbara’s in depth report, entitled,ANOTHER GOD,’ and ‘ANOTHER JESUS,’ and to watch for her final post in this series, please go to HERESCOPE where you will also find many other excellent in depth articles written by Sarah Leslie, Gaylene Goodroad, the late Pastor Larry DeBruyn, who earnestly contended for the faith until the very end of his life, Martin Erdmann, and others. Or, if you’d prefer, you can simply click on the links below. I will add the link to PART 4 for you as soon as it is officially posted on HERESCOPE, which should be within the next few days, according to Barbara.

 PART 2 – ANOTHER GOD

PART 3 – ANOTHER JESUS

Herescope is an online journal revealing heresies and false teachings that are affecting the church today. You will be blessed and greatly informed by what you will read there, and you will also come to realize even more, the importance of reading God’s Word and ‘examining the Scriptures daily to see if what is being said (and done by those who claim to speak for God) is true.’ (Acts 17:11)

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time to read this well written and researched report on Jesus Calling that was done by my dear Sister-in-Christ, Barbara Wilhelm.

God Bless You

As Christians we’ve probably all done this at one point: We see a thought-provoking quote that some well known professing Christian from the past had made, and without really knowing very much about him or her we retweet or repost their quote. C S Lewis is one of those people who is often quoted by Christians, but did you ever take the time to check out all that he actually believed? It still deeply grieves me, but I am one of those people who failed to do so, and when I was very young in the faith I ended up giving my children the audio tapes of The Chronicles of Narnia (which I recently shredded, along with a few other tapes). Red flags began to rise when I first heard some of the mythological characters that were in these stories, but I tried to assure myself that they must be okay since C S Lewis is supposed to be a Christian. How wrong I was!

When I should have known better I also gave a co-worker who was considering the claims of Christianity C S Lewis’ book, Mere Christianity because it was highly recommended by a Christian co-worker as the book that I should give to him because it supposedly brought many to place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. I was going to buy him a Bible, but he told me that he already had one. Giving him that book is something that I still regret to this day!

In the past I had more free time to be able to do my own research for all of my False Teacher Friday posts, but since the following videos have some very thorough and in depth information on C S Lewis, I think this will be enough for now. With that being said, when time allows I hope you will watch these videos and read the article that I shared below so that you can become aware of the many troubling things concerning C S Lewis, such as how he embraced many of the unbiblical teachings of Catholicism like, infant baptism, devotion to the Virgin Mary, purgatory, and more. He was also very intrigued by mysticism and paganism, which becomes quite clear to anyone who takes the time to read one of his books such as ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.’

Here are just a few of the many alarming things that C S Lewis once said that should cause every true follower of Jesus Christ to end their reposts and retweets of his quotes once and for all:

“I have the deepest respect for Pagan myths, still more for myths in the Holy Scriptures.” (The Problem of Pain – page 71)

“I have therefore no difficulty accepting, say, the view of those scholars who tell us that the account of Creation in Genesis is derived from earlier Semitic stories which were pagan and mythical.” (Reflections on the Psalms – page 110)

“I had some ado to prevent Joy and myself from relapsing into Paganism in Attica! At Daphni it was hard not to pray to Apollo the Healer. But somehow one didn’t feel it would have been very wrong – would have only been addressing Christ sub specie Apollinis.” (C S Lewis: A Biography – page 276)

“There are people in other religions who are being led by God’s secret influence to concentrate on those parts of their religion which are in agreement with Christianity and who thus belong to Christ without knowing it. For example a Buddhist of good will may  be led to concentrate more and more on the Buddhist teaching about mercy and to leave in the background (though he might still say he believed) the Buddhist teaching on certain points. Many of the good Pagans long before Christ’s birth may have been in this position.” (Mere Christianity – page 162) – Source for above quotes – http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/6456-dangerous-false-teacher-c-s-lewis.html

Did you know that the Chronicles of Narnia are required reading for those who are considering becoming witches because it teaches them the basic mindset of the craft? So says former witch, now pastor, David J Meyer, as you will hear Brian Moonan say in the following video:

Are you finally coming to the point of realizing that we are to follow Jesus Christ alone, and how we are not to follow any man or woman and their ministry, no matter how well respected they may be? I pray that you are.

RELATED SCRIPTURES

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” (Hebrews 1:3)

“But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.” (2 Peter 1:9)

“I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas ”; still another, “I follow Christ.”Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?” (1 Corinthians 1:10-13)

“You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings? What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.” (1 Corinthians 3:3-17)

UPDATE:

Lord willing, coming later this year I hope to have a few more False Teacher Friday posts which will focus on people such as, Priscilla Shirer, Neil Anderson, and a few others that need to be brought to your attention. These will be very in depth reports, not just a short one as this one was.

UPDATED SUNDAY JANUARY 28, 2018 (See below near the end of the post).

Before I actually begin sharing some information with all of you concerning what I learned after doing research on “the sacred heart,” I want to make sure that you understand that my intention for writing these many different series concerning Catholicism is not to offend Catholics, but to reach Catholics with Biblical truth to help them see the extreme importance of thinking for themselves, and to encourage them to do some research themselves on the origins of their own teachings, and, above all, to urge them to compare their teachings to Scripture to see if it agrees with what Scripture says, or if they actually contradict what God says in His Word. If they choose to do these things, many will be astounded — and even horrified — at what they discover, just as I was and continue to be since I was a Catholic for many years and attended twelve years of Catholic school, as well!

Okay, now let’s begin!

One thing that began to trouble me last year or the year before, was how there is such an emphasis on the actual heart of Jesus Christ, instead of it being completely on Jesus Christ Himself, and you can see this depicted in Catholic art quite frequently:

So, being a detective-at-heart, I decided to start doing some research earlier this year, and this is what I discovered so far:

Searching through images of the “sacred heart” I came across some information that shows how many pagan religions also place a very strong emphasis on the sacred heart:

Among the pictures that I found in my search was this one, which had this caption: “Consecration to two flaming hearts.”

Below is a picture of the Mayan god, Quetzalcoatl, the lord of life and death. The Mayans looked upon his heart as being sacred, as well. Forgive me for sharing these graphic details, but the Mayans would also perform human sacrifices to their gods by slitting the chests of their victims and removing their hearts and offering the blood of their victims to their gods.

“For the Maya blood sacrifice was necessary for the survival of both gods and people  sending human energy skyward and receiving divine power in return.” [Source: Maya Civilization – Civilization.ca] [http://historybizarremysterious.blogspot.com/2008/02/why-did-ancient-mayans-go-after-hearts.html]

During my search for information concerning the sacred heart I also came across this very disturbing statue of Jesus Christ that I had never seen before. Jesus has a slit in His chest and He holds a dagger in His left hand and His heart in His right hand. Clearly the message implied by looking at this statue is not only that the slit in His chest was self-inflicted, but also it seems to take the focus off of the Biblical gospel; the sufficiency of His “once for all” sacrifice on the cross in our place resulting in His death, burial, and glorious resurrection from the dead that proved the sufficiency of His death to satisfy God’s wrath towards us because of our sins. This statue is called The Christ of Reconciliation:

Note the crescent moon shape that is incorporated into the necklace below that was created by a woman named Susan Tooker, who seems to be highly involved in the New Age Movement by just one look at her Pinterest page: https://www.pinterest.com/susantooker/.

The information posted in the description for this necklace that I found on Pinterest reads as follows:

“sacred-heart-evil-eye-amulet-necklace-red-garnet-quarts-“

The crescent moon is oftentimes seen under the feet of many statues of the Virgin Mary. Here are just two examples:

(More information on the crescent moon in Catholicism coming up in a future post at some point –Lord willing).

It’s also important to mention that Catholicism places a lot of emphasis on the Sacred Heart of Mary, as well:

In the picture below you will see how the New Age/New Spirituality Movement also focuses on the sacred heart. The message given below along with the illustrations of the sacred heart reads as follows:

“I am the light of the sun and the grass of the fields. Millions of years have passed and still the night light glows in our hearts and the same grass carpets the fields. I am always with you for I am the sky above you and the endless love inside your heart.” Sacred Heart Gaia -Toni Carmine Salerno

Note the word “Gaia” in the picture above, and please read the following by Contender Ministries which will reveal to you that Gaia is the goddess of “Mother Earth.”

The quick capture above, as well as the following quick capture from a portion of David Cloud’s article, DARWINIAN GODS,  may seem unrelated and off topic at this point, but, Lord willing, I will be connecting the dots in another post either later this month or early next month after my computer problems are all taken care of. In David Cloud’s article he also points out the pagan roots of Gaia and how Gaia is viewed as a living entity –the earth itself:

The main point that I am trying to make in sharing the above two quick captures with you is to show you how Gaia is in no way connected with Biblical Christianity, which leads me back to the picture, Sacred Heart Gaia that I shared with you earlier with the two flaming hearts by Toni Carmine Salerno. Here is some information on him to further show you that those who focus on the Sacred Heart are not doing so according to Biblical Christianity.

Below is a quick capture taken from a YouTube video on a review of Toni Carmine Salerno’s Gaia Oracle [Tarot] Cards which features the same flaming Sacred Hearts:

Below are two more publications by Blue Angel Publishing which shows more of their pagan New Age roots: This one is entitled, ‘The Native Heart Healing Oracle Solar Plexis

Now, with all of that as important background information, let’s get back to Catholicism’s Sacred Heart and its origins:

According to Catholicism, a woman named Margaret Mary Alacoque had a vision of Jesus who told her that He wanted her to promote devotion to His sacred heart:

Picture above found on Pinterest

In Catholicism there is a day set aside every year in which special devotion is given to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. How is that day determined? According to this article, it “was set at the request of Christ Himself, Who appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque…”

NEW UPDATED INFORMATION: 1/28/18

In the video below you will hear some very disturbing things written by Margaret Mary Alacoque concerning her alleged apparitions of Jesus Christ in which she said that He revealed His sacred heart to her. Here are some of the most troubling and unbiblical things that I heard as I listened to the full video:

“He demanded my heart and I supplicated him to take it. He did so and put it into His own adorable heart in which he  allowed me to see it as a little atom being consumed in that fiery furnace. Then drawing it out like a burning flame in the form of a heart he put it into the place once he had taken it, saying, “Behold, my beloved.  A precious proof of my love. I enclose in thy heart a little spark of the most ardent flame of my love…” (Starting at the 4:05 minute mark)

“…I was so out of myself that it was only by doing violence to myself could I utter a word. I was obliged to make so great an effort to eat and recreate that my strength was exhausted in my endeavor to endure my sufferings.” (Starting at the 5:15 minute mark)

“…the first fruit of the luminous apparition a sentiment that must necessarily be conceived by one that has rested on the breast of the savior for astonishment, admiration, and love, create humility, Margaret preserved a memento, or rather an ineffaceable mark of divine love. She did not bear it visibly on her breast like St. Francis of Assisi or Catherine of Sienna, that all her life she retained an invisible wound in her side. “The pain of this would is so precious to me causes me transport so lively that it burns me alive. It consumes me,” she said. This divine memorial did not grow faint with time for the Lord renewed it every first Friday of the month, and again showed her his heart. She said, “The Sacred Heart is shown me as a sun brilliant with sparkling lights whose burning rays fall direct on my heart. I then feel myself inflamed with such fire that it seems about to reduce me to ashes.” Such was the first act of this triple revelation of the Sacred Heart.”(6:13-7:19 minute mark)

Second Revelation Begins at the 9:10 minute mark:

“He made me rest a long time on his breast remembering the first… [revelation].” (11:05 minute mark)

“…rejoice me by supplying as much as you can for their ingratitude. After having shown in the first revelation the true principle of the new devotion, namely love whose flames he could no longer confine in his heart, Jesus now revealed in character. This devotion would be amende honorable an expiation for all the crimes of the world.” (Starting at the 12:14 minute mark)

“And at that moment, continued Margaret, “the divine heart being opened, there shot forth a flame so ardent that I thought I should be consumed by it. Admirable symbol of what this new devotion was to going to become in the Church of that Universal rewarming of hearts that which we shall try later to trace to the consoling picture. Thoroughly penetrated with this burning flames and unable  longer to endure the fire, Margaret implored our savior to have pity on her weakness.  “Fear nothing,” said he to her, ” I shall be thy strength.” (Starting at the 13:19 minute mark)

One of the things that the Lord allegedly asked her to do was to:

“…rise between eleven and midnight on the night between Thursday and Friday of every week and to  prostrate for an hour with her face to the ground in expiation of the sins of men and to console his heart for that general desertion to which the weakness of the Apostles in the Garden of Olives had been only a slight prelude. “During all this time,” says Margaret, “I was unconscious. I knew not where I was. Some of the sisters came to take me away, and seeing that I could neither reply nor support myself on my feet, they led me to our mother who found me quite out of myself, trembling as if on fire.” (Starting at the 14:08 minute mark)

CLOSING COMMENTS

God’s Word is filled with warnings about spiritual deception in the last days. Therefore, we must be on guard against lying signs and wonders so that we will not be led astray by them. Anything that does not line up with Scripture, has more in common with paganism than it does with Biblical Christianity, and attempts to take the focus off of all that Jesus Christ has already accomplished through His sinless life, His death in our place, His burial, and His glorious resurrection from the dead cannot be from God!

Jesus Christ’s once for all sacrifice on the cross was all that was necessary to pay for the sins of mankind. (Please read Romans 6:6-10, 1 Peter 3:18, Hebrews Chapters 7-10) God accepted His death in our place as full payment for our sins and guilt; nothing needs to be added to all the sufferings that He endured on our behalf. To say that Jesus Christ appeared to someone demanding them to do something in expiation for the sins of men/to make reparation for the sins of men is to deny the sufficiency of His finished work on the cross. This is not Jesus Christ of the Bible who is appearing to those who have claimed that He did, because He would not deny the sufficiency of His propitiatory sacrifice.

This is just one of many ways in which mystical experiences are attempting to lead many astray by causing them to seek God outside of His Word. To say that Jesus Christ (or the Virgin Mary) is personally appearing and speaking today is going beyond the boundaries of Biblical Christianity. Do not be deceived! When Jesus Christ came to this earth He revealed the Father to us, (John 17:25,26, John 14:8-10) and all that we need to know is recorded in God’s Word; we need nothing more:

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1,2)

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” (Matthew 12:38-40)

Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie, and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12)

“How can you tell if your church has adopted the Leadership Network paradigm?”

The above question that a listener sent in to Mike LeMay and Amy Spreeman on Stand Up For The Truth a few years ago is a question that writer and speaker, Sarah Leslie, of Discernment Research Group and Herescope addressed near the end of their time together for this show. The main topic discussed is the shift that is taking place in many churches these days, maybe even in yours. It is a shift from Jesus Christ and Biblical truth, which is the foundation for the church, to an experiential based system where the pastor runs the church like a corporation and  presents his own agenda to the people of the church. Sadly, for those who do not stand with the pastor and his new vision for the church, they will either be pressured to conform, or they will be shoved under the bus as Mark Driscoll has  said in the past to his congregation before the dismantling of his church finally took place due mainly because of  his abusive behavior towards those in leadership positions at Mars Hill Church and those who also attended Mars Hill Church. When time allows, consider watching the above video, and keep these Scriptures in mind as you watch the video below:

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,  not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.” (1 Timothy 3:1-3)

And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,  and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:24,25)

Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.  Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.  He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.” (Titus 1:7-9)

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed:  Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” (1 Peter 5:1-4)

UPDATE: Still working on a few posts when time allows me to do so, and, Lord willing, I  hope to  have at least one finished by tomorrow evening so that I can share it with you. Otherwise, it should be done within the next few days.

To those of you who may have been wondering why I have not posted anything recently, I deeply apologize! I have been trying to make time to work on writing the second post in the present series, APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY, OR DEMONS IN DISGUISE? EXAMINING THE EVIDENCE IN LIGHT OF SCRIPTURE, however, a lot has been happening lately that has caused my free time to be extremely limited! Such as:

1) I am continuing to look for a new church since I am still churchless, (if you’d like, you can read why I left my former church after attending there for over five years by reading: CHURCHLESS ONCE AGAIN)

2) My engine light turned on in my car, and after discovering that it would cost $2,700.00 to repair my 2003 car, I realized it was time for me to start looking to purchase another used car

3) AND, since the childcare job that I am blessed to have again for the same precious child that I had before turned out to be for only one day each week instead of the four days that it was originally going to be for because the mom had a change of plans, and because I know how unlikely it is that I would be able to get some type of job writing from a Christian perspective, I knew that it was time for me to seriously start praying and looking for some other type of job that I would enjoy so that God could use it to provide for my immediate and future needs

Now that two of the three major concerns have been taken care of, I need to devote some of my present time to preparing for my new position as a local Freelance Floral Designer and teacher of Floral Design For Beginners at my neighborhood craft store. I am in the process of setting up a new blog for my new business that I dedicate to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, trusting that He will indeed supply all of my needs according to His riches in glory. However, I want all of you to know that I am as dedicated to standing for Biblical truth and exposing error as I ever was, and, Lord willing, I will continue to write and present you with posts that I pray God will use to make all of you realize the extreme importance of being a follower of Jesus Christ alone and not a follower of any man (or woman) and their ministry, as well as the extreme importance of reading and studying God’s Word so that you will never be led astray by the many spiritually deceptive teachings and doctrines of men that not only have become popular these days, but also have led so many precious Christians captive because they fail to test everything they read and hear against the truth of God’s Word –in context.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

After the alleged miracle of the sun took place at the Cova de Iria in Fatima, Portugal on October 13, 1917, it caused many people to come to the conclusion that the little shepherd children were not lying about the visions they had claimed to have seen of the Virgin Mary. At this point even more people began to flock to the homes of the children: Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta. The disturbing details concerning what happened in the years that followed were revealed on the final pages in the little book about the apparitions of Fatima that I received back in the 1980s from my Aunt Lee who was a nun for many years. Most people (including myself), who are familiar with the apparitions of the Virgin Mary that took place at Fatima, are unaware of the fact that Lucia allegedly continued to see visions of the Virgin Mary after 1917. Before we look into these events, here is a very brief summary of what happened a few years after that last apparition took place at Fatima based upon the information that I learned from reading my little book:

Francisco and Jacinta, the two little shepherd children and cousins of Lucia, died as a result of the 1918 influenza epidemic that broke out in Europe; Francisco died on April 4, 1919, and Jacinta died on February 20, 1920. Because of the constant intrusions in the lives of Lucia and her family, it got to the point where the local Bishop thought it best to have her sent away to a convent school where no one would know her. She was given a new name and was told not reveal her true identity or to ever mention anything about Fatima.

Here are a few more brief excerpts from my book concerning the apparitions at Fatima. The pictures that you will see below are examples of the illustrations that were included in this little book and should cause those of you who are truly born-again, Bible believing, discerning Christians, to shudder at what they are clearly conveying!

The main thing I would like to draw your attention to concerning the first vision is the fact that Jesus Christ is revealed as a mere child. Thus the focus, once again, is placed upon Mary as the one who is presented as having the more dominant position of power.

“In the convent, Our Lady did not leave Lucia alone. She came to visit her many times. At the Cova da Iria , Our Lady had already told Lucia of the bitter sorrow of her heart over the ingratitude and sinfulness of mankind. She asked that the first Saturday of each month be set aside by all as a day of reparation to her Immaculate Heart. Our Lady again appeared  to Lucia on December 10, 1025, while she was in her room at the convent. The Child Jesus was at Our Lady’s side, elevated upon a cloud of light.”

“Our Lady resting one hand upon Lucia’s shoulder, held in her other hand a heart surrounded with sharp thorns. The Child Jesus spoke first to Lucia:

“Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation.”

Then Our Lady said to Lucia:

“My daughter, look at my Heart encircled with the thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Do you at least try to console me and announce in my name that I promise to assist  at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, go to Confession and receive Holy Communion, recite the Rosary and keep me company for a quarter of an hour while meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary with the intention of making reparation to me.”

“Lucia could never forget this vision of Mary’s bleeding heart. She informed her confessor and her superior of this apparition but they felt unable of themselves to spread this devotion. A year passed and on the 15th of December, 1926, the Child Jesus again appeared to Lucia, inquiring if she had spread this devotion of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of His Mother. She told Our Lord how her confessor had pointed out to her so many difficulties, and thought the Mother Superior ardently desired to propagate the devotion, her confessor also warned her that she could do nothing by herself.”

“It is true that your Superior alone can do nothing, but with My grace she can do all,” Our Lord answered.

“Lucia had not yet been given permission to reveal all that Our Lady had spoken to her at the Cova da Iria. She did, however, had permission to reveal the need of reparation and the devotion of the First Saturdays. It was in 1927, while she was praying in the convent chapel at Tuy, Spain, where she was then stationed, that she received permission from Heaven to reveal the first two parts of the secret, the vision of Hell and the urgent need for devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.”

“You have seen Hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wants to establish throughout the world the devotion to my Immaculate Heart. …I shall come to ask the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart.”

“Two years later, in 1929, Our Lady again appeared to Lucia while she was praying in the chapel at Tuy. This was the time chosen by Our Lady  to ask the fulfillment of her previous request: “I shall come to ask the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart… If they heed my request, Russia will be converted and there will be peace.” Our Lady explained that this consecration should be made by the Holy Father in unison with all the bishops of the world.”

In the picture above that depicts the vision that Lucia allegedly saw as she prayed in the chapel, you will notice that God the Father is revealed as having a body, which reflects the teachings of Mormonism, not Biblical Christianity!

“God the Father is the Supreme Being in whom we believe and whom we worship. He is the ultimate Creator, Ruler, and Preserver of all things. He is perfect, has all power, and knows all things, He has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s.” (Mormonism – Doctrines and Covenants 130:22) (See videos below under Related Videos to become aware of the unbiblical nature of Mormonism).

God’s Word says the following:

“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)

Also in the illustration above of the alleged vision, you will notice that instead of  Jesus Christ being revealed as our Risen, Glorified Savior, He is revealed as the crucified Christ, which is how Jesus is mainly presented to Catholics through their teachings, especially during the Sacrifice of the Mass when it is said that the bread and the wine become the literal body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ through the process of what’s called transubstantiation. This also is symbolized in the illustration of the vision by the host and the chalice representing the body and blood of Christ being offered again and again during every Mass for the sins of the living and the dead. Once again, this vision does not present Biblical truth since God’s Word clearly says:

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:1,2)

“If God is for us who can be against us, He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, –how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus who died –more than that, who was raised to life —is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”             (Romans 8:31b-34)

“When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation.  He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.  The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean.  How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death so that we may serve the living God!” (Hebrews 9:11-14)

“For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence.  Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.  Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.  But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself.  Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28)

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18)

“Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear you.” (Isaiah 59:1,2)

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” (Ephesians 3:12)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16,17)

“The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:35,36)

“You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ who is Lord of all.” (Acts 10:36)

“Against all hope Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead –since he was about a hundred years old –and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why it was credited to him as righteousness. The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness –for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to live for our justification. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.” (Romans 4:18-25-5:1)

Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he [Jesus Christ], Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (Hebrews 10:8-23) (Insertion [Jesus Christ] added).

Dear Catholic — and each and every one of you — did you grasp the good news of the Biblical gospel after reading God’s life-giving truth in all of those verses? For those who choose to place their trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ as our sin offering — our substitute who bore our sins and took upon Himself the full wrath of God that was intended for us because of all of our sins — and believe that Jesus Christ arose from the dead for our justification, we are then covered with His righteousness, and we can then draw near to God in full assurance of faith. That truly is good news!

Jesus Christ is our only Mediator! (1 Timothy 2:5) We cannot come to God through the saints or through Mary, even though you are being taught that. God did everything necessary to remove the barrier of sin that separates us from Himself, a God who is thrice Holy. Peace can only be found though Jesus Christ.

There is no need for God to send Mary with messages for us. His Word is filled with all of the truth and hope that we need to help us find peace and forgiveness for our sins through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God’s Word is also filled with many prophecies that have already come to pass which shows the accuracy of His Word. Many prophecies in God’s Word reveal the condition that our world will be in shortly before the return of Jesus Christ. The things that we are presently witnessing in our world signifies that we are indeed living in the last of the last days!

“People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” (Luke 17:23-36)

NOTE: I would like to point out here that many wrongly teach that this passage presents an example to support the pretribulation rapture view, a position that I hold to because it teaches the only position that lines up with Scripture by having us look for the imminent return of Jesus Christ. I always accepted that interpretation of this passage, until one day as I was reading it again, the next verse caught my attention and my eyes were opened to see the truth! As I read the reply Jesus gave when He was asked where these people were taken to, it clearly shows they were not taken to a glorious place like heaven, as you will also see!

“Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.” (Luke 17:37)

Continuing on with a few more Scriptures to show how God’s Word shows us how the condition of our world will be like in the last days before Jesus Christ returns:

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”                            (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

The return of Jesus Christ could be much sooner than any of us could ever imagine! Look to Jesus, not to Mary!

Some of the messages given in these many different apparitions (which I will share with you in the next post –Lord willing) make it appear as if Mary is the one who is accurately predicting the condition of our world, when in fact it is God who, by the power of the Holy Spirit, moved upon those holy men in times past to record His Words to us concerning what the condition our world would be like when the time was drawing near for the return of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our very eyes!

Please do not be deceived by thinking that these apparitions are of the virgin Mary when so many of the messages given contradict God’s Word!

For those of you who read Glenn Chatfield’s blog, THE WATCHMAN’S BAGPIPES, you may have seen one of his recent posts in which he shared how he found some cards at a Catholic church with some artwork. These cards were to be given to those who would be attending Mass. Notice how the depiction of the Trinity looks very similar to the illustration of Lucia’s vision:

(SOURCE)

Let’s continue on with a few more disturbing excerpts from the book on the apparitions that continued after 1917 before we bring this post to an end:

“Lucia asked for the consecration of the world to Mary’s Immaculate Heart with a special mention of Russia. The Pope deliberated long and prayerfully upon this request of Mary. In 1942, the clergy and people of Portugal celebrated the silver anniversary of the apparitions of Fatima. On the last day of October of the same year, the Bishops gathered at the Cathedral of Lisbon to join with the Holy Father in fulfilling the request of Our Lady. The Pope at that time consecrated the Church and the world to her Immaculate Heart, including the people of Russia by these words:

“Give peace to the peoples separated from us by error or by schism and especially to the one who professes such singular devotion to thee and in whose homes an honored place was ever accorded thy venerable icon (today perhaps often kept hidden to await better days); bring them back to the one fold of Christ under the one true Shepherd…” Six weeks later, on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, in the presence of 40,000 people, the Holy Father repeated this consecration at St. Peter’s in Rome. This consecration was a decisive event in the history of the world; it marks the beginning of a new era, the Age of Mary.” (Emphasis added)

“The following spring, Our Blessed Lord appeared to Lucia to express the joy of His Heart over this consecration.”

“Last Thursday at midnight, while I was in chapel with my superior’s permission, Our Lord said to me, “The sacrifice required of every person is the fulfillment of his duties in life and the observance of My law. This is the penance that I now seek and require.”

Below you will see one of the very last statements in this little book concerning Mary that clearly reveals how Catholicism attributes to Mary the power to do what only Jesus Christ alone has already accomplished and will ultimately bring to fulfillment at the very end of time:

“Also, the Rosary gives Mary new power to crush the head of the Serpent and to destroy his evil power over the world.” (Emphasis added).

No, dear reader — Catholic or otherwise — Jesus Christ alone defeated the Serpent known as Satan at the cross! The final words that He uttered from the cross, “It is finished,” (John 19:30) made that abundantly clear!

Here are some more Scriptures that show Jesus Christ destroyed Satan’s power at the cross, and will ultimately be the one to send him to the bottomless pit for all eternity!

“He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code with its regulations that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”(Colossians 2:13b-15)

“Jesus replied, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. But I, when I am lifted from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.” (John 12:23-33)

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.” (John 16:7-11)

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” (Romans 16:20)

“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death — that is, the devil–and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”              (Hebrews 2:14,15)

Dear Catholic, though Mary was humble and obedient, and had a deep love for God, she played no part in bringing  about our actual salvation no matter what you have been taught. Out of her love for God she put aside all of the concerns that she must have had and willingly submitted to God and became the virgin mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is the second Person in the Trinity. Jesus took upon Himself human flesh and willingly came into our world to live the perfect, sinless  life that you and I could never live, to become the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God –He became our substitute and died in our place for all of our sins, guilt, and shame.

In the following video you will discover that after the death of the two little shepherd children, Jacinta and Francisco, it has been said that “they were in constant communication with her [Lucia] until the very end of her life.”

Communicating with the dead is referred to as “necromancy,” and is forbidden by God according to His Word! (Leviticus 19:31, 20:27) (Isaiah 8:19)

To accept the many teachings of the Catholic church concerning Mary — or anything that cannot be found anywhere in Scripture — is to go beyond what has been written, which is something that we are commanded not to do. (1 Corinthians 4:6) It is also adding to Scripture, as well as taking away from Scripture, which is something that God clearly forbids! (See Deut. 4:2, 12:32, Rev. 22:18)

When Mary is exalted to a position of power that is equal to or that surpasses that of Jesus Christ’s, (which sadly is often the case if one takes the time to compare the teachings of the Catholic church to Scripture, as I have been trying to do for you in these recent series that focuses on Catholicism), or when Jesus is presented to you as a baby, a child, or still on the cross, then you, dear Catholic, are being prevented from seeing the greatness of all that Jesus Christ alone has accomplished for you out of His love for you and out of His obedience to God the Father!

The foundation for our faith must be built upon Jesus Christ alone for our salvation, and it is not to be built upon any particular church or denomination.

“The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:22)

“So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.” (Isaiah 28:16)

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”               (1 Corinthians 3:11)

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”                  (Ephesians 2:19,20)

“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner. And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:2-8)

IN CLOSING:

While it is true that the Catholic church does not demand Catholics to accept these apparitions (that are classified as private revelations) in order to be Catholic, the fact that some of these apparitions have been fully approved by the Catholic church (some of which we will examine in an upcoming post) is enough to cause many Catholics to fall prey to the clearly unbiblical and spiritually deceptive messages that are given during these apparitions.

Dear Catholic, (and those of you who may be seeking after signs and wonders), please do not allow yourselves to be led astray from the simplicity of the Biblical gospel by  apparitions and by Catholic traditions that are not based on Scripture, and yet are put on the same level as Scripture, as stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

“Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture, then, are bound closely together and communicate one with the other. For both of them, flowing out from the same divine well-spring, come together in some fashion to form one thing and move towards the same goal.” Each of them makes present and fruitful in the Church the mystery of Christ, who promised to remain with his own *”always, to the close of the age.” *(Matthew 28:20)

“Sacred Scripture is the speech of God as it is put down in writing under the breath of the Holy Spirit” “And [Holy] Tradition transmits in its entirety the Word of God which has been entrusted to the apostles by Christ the Lord and the Holy Spirit. It transmits it to the successors of the apostles so that, enlightened by the Spirit of truth, they may faithfully preserve, expound, and spread it abroad by their preaching.”

“As a result the Church, to whom the transmission and interpretation of Revelation is entrusted, “does not derive her certainty about all revealed truths from the holy Scriptures alone. Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with equal sentiments of devotion and reverence.”

(Para 80, 81, 82 Catechism of the Catholic Church) (Emphasis added to point out serious concerns).

Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), His name is the only name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), He is the only Mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and He is the door (John 10:7-10) that leads to eternal life. And yet below you will read a quote that was taken from an interview with Lucia in Fatima in 1957 in which she stated that Mary is to be considered “as the certain door by which we are to enter heaven.”

Dear Catholic, and those of you who may have become captivated by these apparitions. Will you continue to believe the messages given during these apparitions that appeal to your emotions? Or after examining the evidence in light of Scripture will you make the decision to reject these apparitions and place your trust in Jesus Christ alone, who is the only Savior that God has provided for you? The choice is yours. I am praying for all of you.

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here. The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.” (Matthew 12:38-42)

“Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.” (John 4:48)

“The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there. and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you get here?” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” (John 6:22-40)

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them…” (Exodus 20:3-5)

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false  prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1)

In spite of the fact that the following apparitions received full approval by the Catholic church because nothing contradicts their teachings, if tested against Scripture each one fails to line up with the truth of God’s Word:

As I mentioned earlier in this post, I added this video to show you what some of the teachings of Mormonism are because of the fact that Lucia claimed to have seen a vision in which God the Father had a body, which is one of the many unbiblical teachings of Mormonism.

THE EXPOSITORY FILES – DO NOT EXCEED THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN – 1 CORINTHIANS 4:6

Once again I need to apologize to all of you for not having posted anything recently, but I had some important things that I needed to attend to. Over the past couple of weeks I have been continuing on with my search for a new job, and I also spent a lot of time helping my family prepare for a garage sale that we just had over this past weekend. So now that things have settled down a little bit I will be typing as quickly as possible over the rest of this week in order to finish my next post in the series on the ALLEGED APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY. The title of this post will be:

BEYOND FATIMA – THE ALLEGED APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY TO LUCIA SANTOS  BEYOND OCTOBER 13, 1917 – LEARN TO DISCERN

Once this short series on the ALLEGED APPARITIONS OF THE VIRGIN MARY is completed, Lord willing, I will then go back to writing more installments in the series in which I have been sharing the teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church with you, and comparing them to Scriptures that can be found in the Catholic New Testament Bible.

As always, it is my prayer that God will use the truth of His Word to reveal to precious Catholics (and to every person) all that Jesus Christ has already accomplished for us through: His sinless life, His death on the cross in our place for all of our sin and guilt, and, above all, through His resurrection from the dead. Jesus Christ’s glorious resurrection from the dead not only shows us that He was triumphant over sin and death, but also it shows us that His once for all sacrifice was accepted by God the Father as being completely sufficient to satisfy the wrath that He has towards us because of all of our sins.

The truly good news of the Biblical gospel is that for all those who will choose to place their trust only in what Jesus Christ has already done for us instead of trying to earn their salvation through their good works, they will then have the assurance that their debt of sin has been paid in full, and their sins — no matter how horrendous — will never be remembered again!

“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.” (Romans 4:7,8)

In other words, dear reader, what you need to realize is that it is Jesus Christnot the Virgin Mary — whom God has provided for us as our only Savior, our only Mediator, and our only hope!

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

Welcome to another post in the category of posts entitled, TEACHING THURSDAY.’ Lord willing, every month or so on a Thursday, I will be posting either a video, an article, or some form of teaching  in which a *Biblically sound teacher *(Biblically sound because what they say and teach lines up with the truth of God’s Word,  Acts 17:11) will either expose an unbiblical movement, teaching, or a practice that is leading many Christians astray, or present some type of Biblical teaching to help you grow in a deeper understanding of God’s Word on different topics. Some of these teachings may be essentials of the Christian faith, and others may be things that we can debate but not divide over.

It is my hope and prayer that by presenting these teachings to you, many more Christians will not only come to realize the importance of testing the words of men (and women) against the truth of God Word so they will not be deceived, but also it is my hope and prayer that many Christians will come to know the joy of learning God’s Word.

Now on with today’s TEACHING THURSDAY:

As I had mentioned to you in the very beginning of the year, Lord willing, next year I will be presenting you with an in depth series in which we will be comparing the teachings of Calvinism (also known as Reformed Theology) to Scripture. This series will begin after I complete the Catholicism series that I am presently writing; a series in which we are comparing the teachings from the Catechism of the Catholic Church to Scriptures that can be found in the Catholic Bible. Just as I am trusting that God will open the eyes of many Catholics so that they will begin to question all that they have been taught as they see what God’s Word actually says, I will also be trusting that God will open the eyes of many who have embraced the teachings of Calvinism so that they will come to realize that the teachings of Calvinism do not line up with Scripture, distort the very nature and character of God, and — if I may be so bold as to say — that the teachings of Calvinism even present another Jesus and another gospel. (2 Corinthians 11:2-4, Galatians 1:6-9) Yes, I realize that is a very shocking statement to make, but if you will choose to pray for discernment and examine the teachings of Calvinism through the lens of Scripture instead of accepting the interpretations of what Bible teachers of Reformed Theology/Calvinism say concerning God and a certain passage of Scripture, your eyes will be opened to the truth by the power of the Holy Spirit to see how God’s Word and His very nature are being twisted and changed into something that is clearly not Biblical Christianity.

Since watching some of the presentations by speakers at the Pastor’s Conference that took place at the end of April 2017 at Calvary Chapel Appleton, in Appleton, Wisconsin, in which the the focus was on the book of Galatians, I decided to share these teachings with you today concerning Calvinism as an example of what you can expect next year in my series concerning Calvinism/Reformed Theology: teachings based on Scripture, truth spoken in love, and the words of men being tested against the truth of God’s Word to see if what is being said is true (Acts 17:11), or not.

Please prayerfully consider listening to these teachings by former Calvinist, Robert Congdon, whether you are someone who has no idea what Calvinism/Reformed Theology actually is, whether you are someone who has heard of it and knows a little about it, or even if you are someone who has actually embraced any or all of the five points of  TULIP, which are:

  • Total Depravity

  • Unconditional Election

  • Limited Atonement

  • Irresistible Grace

  • Perseverance of the Saints

Thank you very much for stopping by and taking time out of your busy day to read some of my posts and poems.

God Bless You

UPDATE:

Over the past week I have been trying to finish writing Part 2 of May 13th Marks The 100 Year Anniversary Of The Alleged Apparitions Of The Virgin Mary At Fatima – Learn To Discern Do Not Be Deceived and hope to have it finished by Sunday evening.

UPDATED 8:42 P.M. 4/25/17 (SEE NOTE BELOW)

In this 2 Part series we will begin by just looking at what is being planned for the 100 Year Anniversary celebration of the apparitions of Mary at Fatima that were said to have begun in May of 1917.

In Part 2 we will then look closely at the messages given during these apparitions at Fatima back in 1917, and not only will we “test the spirits to see if they are from God” (1 Thessalonians 5:21, 1 John 4:1) or not, but also we will then compare these messages to God’s Word, the Bible, to see if what was said in these messages is true or not, as we are shown to do in Acts 17:11

Now the Bereans were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

Let’s begin:

As the 100 Year Anniversary of the alleged appearances of the Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal quickly approaches, many special plans are already underway:

Pope Francis has decided to “grant a plenary indulgence opportunity throughout the entire anniversary year which began November 27, 2016 and will end November 26, 2017.”

For those of you who are not aware of what a plenary indulgence is, here is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church has to say concerning indulgences:

INDULGENCES

PARA 1471 The doctrine and practice of indulgences in the Church are closely linked to the effects of the sacrament of Penance.

What is an indulgence?

“An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the Church which, as the minister of redemption, dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and all the saints.” An indulgence is partial or plenary according as it removes either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin.” The faithful can gain indulgences for themselves or apply them to the dead.” (Much more on indulgences in an upcoming installment of the Catholicism series in which I am continuing to take you through the Catechism of the Catholic Church and comparing these teachings to Scriptures in a Catholic New Testament Bible to show Catholics the importance of testing their teachings to the Word of God, as we are all to do –Acts 17:11).

Pope Francis is planning on visiting Fatima, Portugal during this highly anticipated celebration:

Pope Francis to visit Fatima on 100th anniversary of Marian apparitions

The Vatican has now released Pope Francis’ schedule for his May 2017 trip to Fatima for the 100 year celebration:

(SOURCE)

As you can see from the quick capture below, it was recently announced that Pope Francis will be declaring two of the three shepherd children (Jacinta and Francisco Marta) as saints on this day commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the beginning of these alleged apparitions. According to the article below it says the following concerning Lucia, who was the third and oldest of the shepherd children who reportedly saw these apparitions of the Virgin Mary:

“The children’s cousin entered the Carmelites. Sister Lucia died in 2005 at the age of 97. The diocesan phase of her sainthood cause concluded in February and now is under study at the Vatican.”

The most troubling news to Bible believing Christians that has come forth as many Catholics and others are anticipating this momentous celebration, is the news that the Virgin Mary may finally be given the title that she has been requesting during many of these supposed apparitions, which is “Co-Redemptrix.”

Starting at the 0:51 minute mark in the video above, you will hear Dr. Miravalle say the following concerning Mary, which is also the accepted teaching according to the Catholic church. Be sure to pray for discernment and test what is said against Scripture:

“Mary’s role as Co-Redemptrix is always in participation in the sufferings of Jesus, the great victory of the cross of our Lord. Without the cross of Jesus, without the sufferings of the God-man, the only Divine Redeemer, the sufferings of Mary are useless, just like our sufferings become useless. But when united with the cross of Christ, Mary becomes again that New Eve with the New Adam to obtain the salvation of the world. The suffering of Mary should be acknowledged. The role of  Mary as Co-Redemptrix should be acknowledged. We have it in Scripture. Mary gives Jesus his body, and then she continues to suffer with Jesus for the whole mission of redemption which is climaxed at Calvary. St. John Paul II explains,” She is spiritually crucified, but her role as Co-Redemptrix does not cease for the glorification of her Son. It continues in mediating grace to us in being our advocate. And so the suffering of Mary, the role of Mary as Co-Redemptrix should be acknowledged.”

“And in fact, it is God’s desire that it be acknowledged. Not only has there been a hundred year movement in the church to acknowledge Mary’s roll as Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix, as well as her intercessory role as advocate, but also there have been private revelations, authentic church approved private revelations, that have said, “Heaven wants this done.” In fact so strong has heaven spoken that it has articulated that only when Mary’s role as Co-Redemptrix has been acknowledged in the form of a dogma, acknowledged by the Holy Father in a solemn declaration, only then will Mary be allowed to intercede for peace for our troubled world.”

What has been stated above is simply an attempt to give to Mary some of the glory that is due only to Jesus Christ for obtaining our salvation and to justify their reasons for attempting to declare Mary as Co-redemptrix. Yes, as the mother of Jesus Christ I am sure that her heart was filled with grief and pain as any mother’s heart would be if she saw her son nailed to a cross and in intense agony. However, Mary’s suffering was not necessary for our salvation; Jesus Christ alone carried out and fulfilled God’s complete redemptive plan for our salvation!

Let’s continue on with what else is being planned for Fatima’s 100 year Anniversary:

Other plans for this upcoming event include the making of three movies: One will be an animation of the events that allegedly took place in Fatima beginning in 1916 with the apparitions of the Angel of Peace that preceded the apparitions of the Virgin Mary that were said to have started on May 13th of 1917 and continued on the 13th of each  month until October, 1917:

This movie, entitled, ‘FE’ which means faith, is still in the process of being filmed and will be told in a “modern way.” It will also include some of what will take place for the 100 year celebration at Fatima in May of 2017. Pope Francis will also be represented in this movie “in an animated way.”

The man chosen and approved by the Vatican to do the voice of Pope Francis will be Jose’ Mourinho, manager of Manchester United:

According to the following article, the second movie being made is entitled, “From Heaven: The Story Of Fatima.” The release date for this movie will be some time in May, right before the 100th Anniversary of the appearances of the Virgin Mary at Fatima. This movie will be an updated version of the 1952 version which will not only include what was said to have taken place at Fatima, Portugal, but also this movie will include many of the events that were said to have taken place after the final and most widely known October 17th day of the Fatima apparitions that came to be known as ‘The Miracle of the Sun.’ In this movie the continued visits from the Virgin Mary to Lucia that have been reported to have taken place will be portrayed, along with the many challenges that she faced in the years following the apparitions of Fatima:

Executive Director: Writers Table/VP Creative Development, Barbara Nicolosi, says the following in the video below:

“The idea would be that everything that we make would in some sense the audience would encounter it as a call, a move, a yearning to move forward, to move towards something.”

This movie clearly has unity as its focus. Many who are involved in the making of this movie have actually started a ‘year long global movement to inspire millions of people to pray for peace.’

Their Facebook page states the following about this movement:

“Pray for Peace is a global movement to inspire people of all faiths to pray for peace, in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Apparitions at Fatima.”

Here are two quick captures taken from the video that you will find directly following them:

ORIGIN ENTERTAINMENT, the production company for the upcoming film, ‘Fatima,’ sent out the following invitation to PRAY FOR PEACE at a SPECIAL MASS:

In this video you will see more evidence of the unity that the producers of this Fatima film are hoping to inspire within those who will see this new movie.

When it comes to this growing cry for unity, those of us who are true Bible believing Christians cannot compromise with Biblical truth. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. Jesus Christ Himself said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)

There may come a time in the not too distant future where we will be looked at as the ones preventing the unity that the world is clamoring for; we will be looked at as the evil that divides. (In some cases, we already are looked at in that way). When, in reality, we are the ones who truly love and care enough to warn everyone — regardless of what religion they may be — of the fact that we are all sinners in need of a Savior, and that our sin is what separates us from the one and only true God who is completely Holy.

Regardless of the fact that there is a strong movement underway to make Mary the Co-Redemptrix along with Jesus Christ, the truth according to Scripture is that God  has provided only one way to be reconciled to Himself, and that is through the “once for all” sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:10, Hebrews 7:27, 9:12,26-28, 10:10-14, 1 Peter 3:18) He alone paid the price for our sins in full; He is our only Mediator between God and man, and His name is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved:

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5)

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12)

Because Jesus Christ was/is the *sinless, Son of God *(2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5, ), who willingly came in the flesh (Hebrews 10:5-9) and  lived the perfect, sinless life that we could never live, He then became the perfect sacrifice and willingly died in our place on the cross. (John 10:17,18) He took upon Himself the full wrath of God that was intended for each of us because of all of our sins –no matter how wretched of a life that we may have lived, or are now living. God accepted His death on our behalf, and in return, if we choose to place our complete trust in all that Jesus Christ did as full payment for our sins, our sins and guilt will be washed away. We will then be covered in the righteousness of Jesus Christ and our sins He will remember no more.

Please take time to reflect upon the truth within these Scriptures:

“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:” (Romans 3:10-28)

“Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sins the Lord will never count against him.” (Romans 4:4-8)

“He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.” (Romans 4:25)

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” (Romans 5:12-19)

“For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”                     (1 Corinthians 15:21)

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8)

Many yearn for something real and tangible when it comes to their spirituality. As a young Catholic child I remember being deeply impacted emotionally when I watched the original Fatima movie and saw the portrayal of the alleged apparitions of Mary. However, our faith must be built upon the truth in God’s Word and not on our feelings which can lead us astray! And that is my concern for the many who will view these new updated movies concerning the Fatima apparitions. Messages presented in movies have the capability of being very “transformative” when it comes to our beliefs. What are the real reasons behind making these movies concerning the apparitions of Fatima? Just think about the many who have said how their view of God and the Trinity have  completely changed since reading the book and seeing the movie, ‘The Shack.’ And, sadly, their views have not changed to align with Scripture!

We must keep in mind what God’s Word has to say concerning faith:

“And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (John 20:26-29)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:3-9)

Will you stand on the truth of God’s Word? Or will you be swayed by the emotionally deceptive messages that strongly encourage love and unity and looking to someone other than Jesus Christ? Please learn to discern so that you will not be deceived by what is taking place these days in an attempt to cause you to embrace love and unity, at the cost of rejecting Biblical truth!

NOTE ADDED 4/25/17: It is not my intention to speculate, to sensationalize, or to judge the intentions of Origin Entertainment because of how the symbol of their production company resembles an ouroboros. I realize that there is only so much someone can do with the letter O in order to be creative and to personalize it, but please consider what came to mind as that thought occurred to me: I remembered back to the TOGETHER 2016 event that took place in Washington DC on July 16th, 2016 in which thousands of people of many different Christian denominations gathered together to pray, and the design of the O in TOGETHER also resembled an ouroboros. This symbol was painted on their stage, as well. (Please consider reading the article by HERESCOPE below for a very in-depth and disturbing look at this event which strongly focused on unity. ).

Here is an actual ouroboros symbol which is an occult symbol representing infinity and the unity of all things :

Capture Catholic New Testament Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church pic 1

SERIES INTRODUCTION (This post was updated 6:08 P.M. 2-12-17).

There are two very important reasons why I felt compelled to write this series of posts, and I’d like to briefly share these reasons with you now before I go any further:

1) Since I am a former Catholic who is very aware of the teachings of the Catholic Church because I attended twelve years of Catholic school, attended Catechism classes, made my First Holy Communion, was Confirmed, and faithfully attended Mass not only every Sunday for many years, but also before school began for three years (as required by the school that I attended at the time),  and who came to the knowledge of who Jesus Christ truly is and what He actually accomplished for us by reading a Catholic New Testament Bible exactly like the one pictured above, I decided to write this series with the hope of reaching Catholics so that they can not only come to an understanding of who Jesus Christ truly is as His Word, the Bible, declares Him to be, but also so they can see by reading God’s Word that they can have complete forgiveness, lasting joy, true peace, and the assurance of salvation if they choose to believe God’s Word and place their trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. Also, since many Catholics do not realize everything that the Catholic church actually teaches (as I once did not realize until after doing research and reading the CCC), I thought that it was extremely important to share this information to make Catholics aware of many things that are quite disturbing, as you will all soon become aware of as this series continues.

2) This series of posts is also being written with the intention of helping those of you who are born-again, Bible believing followers of Jesus Christ who have no idea of what the teachings of Catholicism are so that you can become aware of their teachings and be prepared to offer hope and assurance of salvation through Jesus Christ to Catholics based solely upon the truth that is recorded in God’s Word.

As we continue on in this series together comparing Scriptures in the Catholic New Testament to teachings found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we must keep these important thoughts in mind:

When it comes to our eternal destination — heaven or hell — we must be certain that we place our trust in solid truth and not in speculation or in the traditions of men. The Catholic church claims to be the “one true Church.” Therefore, it stands to reason that their teachings must line up with God’s Word and not contradict it since God does not change (Malachi 3:6, James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8), and His Word stands firm forever. (Psalm 119:89, Isaiah 40:8, 1 Peter 1:24,25) If a contradiction is found it must be rejected because God’s Word is our plumb line by which we must measure (or test) the teachings of every religion to see if it lines up or not. If it is off in one point we can be certain that it will lead us further and further away from Biblical truth and lead us into spiritual deception.

This series will cover many different subjects ranging from what does the Catholic Church teach about the Bible, Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, priests, the pope, sin, forgiveness of sins, salvation, prayer, and what must a Catholic believe in order to receive eternal life. Some of these teachings will shock even many Catholics when they learn what their church actually teaches!

Lord willing, I hope to share at least one post every month with you in this new series until I have covered all the most important teachings that need to be brought to your attention. The main goal that I have in writing this series is to present the Word of God to Catholics — and to every person — in order to point everyone to Jesus Christ, who is our only hope and ‘the only name under heaven given among men by which we can be saved.’ (Acts 4:12)

Dear Catholic, please take a minute now to pray, asking God to open your mind to the Scriptures and to reveal the truth to you –whatever that may be.

Because only God can reveal the truth to you, I will refrain from making any comments unless I find it completely necessary. Since God’s Word is truth I trust that He will not only give you eyes to see the truth, but also I trust that He will give you the courage to respond to His leading. However, each one of you will find yourself having to answer this question when you come to many points that I present to you in these posts after realizing that there are oftentimes extreme differences between what the Word of God says and what Catholicism teaches, and the question that you will have to answer is:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

Please keep in mind, as you are carefully reading all of the statements made from the following Catholic sources, that every time you see the word “church” spelled with a capital c they are referring to the Catholic church, since they believe that the “Catholic Church” alone is the “one true Church.”All of the information that I will be sharing with you I have obtained from the following sources:

1) CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH (pictured above) – Imprimi Potest – Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (who later became Pope Benedict) – Interdicasterial Commission for the Catechism of the Catholic Church

2) THE WORD OF GOD – THE NEW TESTAMENT OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR  IN TODAY’S ENGLISH VERSION – SACRED HEART LEAGUE EDITION – IMPRIMATUR JOHN FRANCIS WHEALON, ARCHBISHOP OF HARTFORD, APRIL 15, 1971 SIGNED AND SEALED BY BISHOP JOSEPH B. BRUNINI, DIOCESE OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI

3) Occasionally when I share a Scripture with you from the Sacred Heart League (SHL) Catholic New Testament and notice that it lacks depth and clarity, I will then follow it with the same verse but in the King James Version in order to give you a better understanding of what is being said, and so that you can see what is missing from the SHL translation.

4) Very briefly in this series, I will also be quoting from THE CATHOLIC DOUAY RHEIMS VERSION OF THE BIBLE – in which you will find the following statements:

“EXCERPT FROM ENCYCLICAL LETTER OF OUR HOLY FATHER BY DIVINE PROVIDENCE POPE LEO XIII ON THE STUDY OF HOLY SCRIPTURE:

“The God of all Providence, Who in the adorable designs of His love at first elevated the human race to the participation of the Divine nature, and afterwards delivered it from the universal guilt and ruin, restoring it to its primitive dignity, has in consequence bestowed upon man a splendid gift and safeguard–making known to him, by supernatural means, the hidden Mysteries of His divinity, His wisdom, and His mercy. For although in Divine revelations there are contained some things which are not beyond the reach of unassisted reason, and which are made the objects of such revelation in order “that all may come to know them with facility, certainty, and safety from error, yet not on this account can supernatural Revelation be said to be absolutely necessary; it is only necessary because God has ordained man to a supernatural end.” This supernatural revelation according to the belief of the universal Church, is contained both in unwritten Tradition, and in written Books, which are therefore called sacred and canonical because, “being written under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, they have God for their author, and as such have been delivered to the Church.” (Page ix)

“Wherefore it must be recognised that the sacred writings are wrapt in a certain religious obscurity, and that no one can enter into their interior without a guide; God so disposing, as the Holy Fathers commonly teach, in order that men may investigate them with greater ardour and earnestness, and that what is attained with difficulty may sink more deeply into the mind and heart; and, most of all that they may understand that God has delivered the Holy Scriptures to the Church, and that in reading and making use of His Word, they must follow the Church as their guide and their teacher.  St. Irenaeus long since laid down, that where the charismata of God were, there the truth was to be learnt, and that Holy Scripture was safely interpreted by those who had the Apostolic succession.  His teaching, and that of other Holy Fathers, is taken up by the Council of the Vatican, which, in the renewing of the decree of Trent, declares its “mind” to be this–that “in things of faith and morals, belonging to the building up of Christian doctrine, that is to be considered the true sense of Holy Scripture which has been held and is held by our Holy Mother the Church whose place it is to judge of the true sense and interpretation of the Scriptures; and therefore that it is permitted to no one to interpret Holy Scripture against such sense or also against the unanimous agreement  of the Fathers.” (Page xvii)

“Wherefore the first and dearest object of the Catholic commentator  should be to interpret those passages which have received an authentic interpretation either by the sacred writers themselves, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost (as in many places of the New Testament), or from the Church, under the assistance of the same Holy Spirit, whether by her solemn judgment or her ordinary and universal magisterium –to interpret those passages in that identical sense, and to prove, by all the resources of science that sound hermeneutical laws admit of no other interpretation. In the other passages, the analogy of faith should be followed, and Catholic doctrine, as authoritatively proposed by the Church, should be held as the supreme law; for seeing that the same God is the author both of the Sacred Books and of the doctrine committed to the Church, it is clearly impossible that any teaching can by legitimate means be extracted from the former, which shall in any respect be at variance with the latter. Hence it follows that all interpretation is foolish and false which either makes the sacred writers disagree one with another, or is opposed to the doctrine of the Church.” (Page xviii)

“For although the studies of non-Catholics, used with prudence, may sometimes be of use to the Catholic student, he should nevertheless, bear well in mind–as the Fathers also teach in numerous passages –that the sense of Holy Scripture can nowhere be found incorrupt outside of the Church, and cannot be expected to be found in writers who, being without the true faith, only gnaw the bark of the Sacred Scripture and never attain its pith.” (Page xix)

INTRODUCTION TO PART 6

In the previous post in this Catholicism series, you saw how some of the teachings that can be found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church completely line up with Scripture. Many of you also came to the realization while reading that post that a few of their teachings also raise some serious concerns! As we continue going through the teachings in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), many of you will find your concern begin to grow even stronger when the subject of salvation according to the Catholic Church is presented, and when many other theological issues are compared to Biblical truth, as well.

In this particular post we will take a very brief look (for now) at one of the alleged Apparitions of Mary because of something that is said about the Virgin Mary amidst this next thirty-five page section of the CCC that we are about to go through.

At this point I would like to stop and take just a moment in order to bring to your attention the fact that on May 13th of this year (2017) will be the 100th Year Anniversary of the Apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima. Therefore, Lord willing, in the near future I will be presenting you with what will most likely end up being quite a lengthy post (that I have actually already started) which will focus not only on these alleged appearances of the Virgin Mary at Fatima, but also this upcoming post will include detailed information concerning what is being planned for this 100th Year Anniversary celebration. Most importantly, we will be testing the messages that were given by this apparition at Fatima against the truth of God’s Word to see if what was said in these messages that were given to three young  children line up with Scripture. After all, if it truly was the Virgin Mary who appeared at Fatima in 1917 then we should expect everything that she said to completely line up with Scripture because the Mary of the Bible would never contradict the very Words of God.

One of the main sources that I will be quoting from in this upcoming post will be a little book on the Apparitions of Fatima that was given to me back in the early 1980s by my Aunt Lee who was a Catholic nun for many years before she sadly died. I decided to keep it for research purposes, and now I’m very glad that I did.

Before I finish researching and writing that particular post, however, I will, Lord willing, be writing another post in the very near future which will focus on many of these alleged apparitions of Mary that have taken place around the world. In this upcoming post we will take a look at many of these messages that were given by the woman in these apparitions who claims to be the Virgin Mary, and, once again, we will test these messages against Scripture to see if what has been said lines up with the truth of God’s Word.

Now back to some more information about this post that you are presently reading:

Since the subject of communion comes up in this next section of the CCC, we will also be taking a few minutes in this post to look at the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on the Sacrifice of the Mass, and test what they teach against Scripture to see if what they say is true according to the Word of God. We will be taking a very in depth look at the Sacrifice of the Mass in an upcoming post in this series when they present the teaching on the Sacrifice of the Mass in greater detail further on in this CCC book.

In this particular post I will be presenting you with most of the additional information that I have added to this post in the very beginning of this post rather than how I normally do it, which is by adding the information below the section that it applies to. I prayerfully decided to do it this way in order to not only prepare you for what you are about to read in the CCC, but also I thought by doing it this way it would help you to grow in your ability to learn to discern by being aware of some important information and the truth of God’s Word before you begin reading more of the teachings that can be found in  the CCC.

Before we finally begin, may I ask those of you who are Catholic to just take a moment to pray and ask God to show you the truth according to His Word? For those of you who are born-again Christians and are not aware of what the teachings of the Catholic Church are, please also take a moment to pray for discernment, and be sure to test everything in light of Scripture not only regarding what’s in this post, but also regarding what’s in everything that you read and listen to. None of us want to be deceived!

NOTE: This post is not quite finished. However, since my computer has been acting up today I decided to publish it anyhow so as to avoid losing all of the information that I have so far. (Over 12,000 words). My computer has crashed a few times in the past and I lost most of the information that I had added to those posts, and it just crashed a few minutes ago, but thankfully I don’t think I lost anything this time. I will continue working on this post over the next few days until it is finally completed, and will then remove this note. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATED THIS POST SUNDAY 2-12-17 – 6:00 and 6:09 P.M. ALMOST FINISHED!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND AS YOU READ THIS POST

Concerning Apparitions of the Virgin Mary

The Catholic Church has not approved all of the many alleged apparitions of Mary that have taken place all around the world. They have however, approved of these particular apparitions that took place in Quito Ecuador from 1589 to 1634 which if they are to be believed as being from God, then one must believe that these statues were miraculously completed by the angels; they were “transformed and finished at the hands of St. Francis, St. Michael the Archangel, St. Gabriel the Archangel, and *St. Raphael the Archangel, *who is not mentioned in the Hebrew Scriptures, but is mentioned in the book of  Tobias ( a non-canonical book). One must also believe that “the Virgin Mary approached the statue and entered into it.” It has been said that, “At that moment the holy statue took on life.” ( You can hear the above portion beginning at the 2:10-2:43 minute mark).

Before the Catholic Church gives their final approval of an apparition, a lot of time is put into not only evaluating the life of the person who makes the claim of seeing these apparitions, but also a lot of time is put into examining the messages given during these apparitions. Their basis for determining if these messages are valid or not is not solely  based upon if these messages line up with Scripture, but rather they mainly examine the messages to see if they agree with or contradict Catholic doctrine.

In the following video you will hear him share some rather disturbing examples of apparitions and visions that have taken place over the years, as well as how they discern “whether an apparition is from God or the devil.” He also explains two major types of revelation; official/public revelation and private revelation:

Official/public revelation: ” Official revelation is the body of infallible truth that makes up our Catholic faith.”

“It’s all those beliefs that we must accept to be Catholic.” Now…official revelation has only two sources: One of them is the Bible; the Scriptures, because the Scriptures are infallible. The other one is the Apostolic traditions of the church…they’re the practices, the truths that are not contained in the Bible that have existed within the faith since the time of the apostles.”

“Official revelation ended with the death of the last apostle, and nothing can be added to it…that’s very important. The church reveals and further explains official revelation throughout history, but nothing can be added to it.” Because God’s revelation to us was whole; it was complete, it doesn’t need anything else. So that’s official revelation… A perfect example of that is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven. That’s a truth that’s not contained in the Bible, but goes back to the time of the apostles; the people who actually witnessed it take place. It goes all the way back to that source, so…that is official revelation. Because Christ Himself is the only one who brought official revelation to the world. And where that was recorded was in the minds of the apostles and in the Scriptures themselves.”

Private revelation: Those revelations made by God to saints and to pious people after the church was founded. And even when the church approves of these revelations, it doesn’t oblige the faithful to believe in them. It doesn’t have the binding force of official revelation. Catholics need to look at private revelations and use their prudence, their wisdom to try to discern if they’re true or not. To help us in this process the church does approve of some private revelations, but once again, it doesn’t demand that the faithful believe in those apparitions even the ones that it has approved of.”

In regards to the Catholic church and their teachings concerning the end times and the return of Jesus Christ:

1. They do not believe in any form of rapture; the catching away of all those who have placed their faith and trust in Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection before God’s judgment comes upon this earth.

2. They do not believe that Jesus Christ will reign for a literal one thousand years upon this earth (Revelation 20:1-6); they believe Jesus presently reigns through the Church –the Catholic Church.

In order to prepare for writing this particular post I listened to many videos to get an accurate understanding of what the Catholic Church teaches concerning the end times and the return of Jesus Christ. In an upcoming post I will be sharing some videos with you on this subject, but for now here is some rather chilling and disturbing information concerning the end times revealed through messages given during Marian apparitions:

Below is a quick captured portion of an article that was written in 1996 by Catholic priest, Stefano Gobbi who states the following:

“Brother priests, we are priests chosen for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This is why Our Lady made the Marian Movement of Priests arise within the Church. She has chosen us priests to be part of this Movement, so that we may be instruments of the triumph of her Immaculate Heart in the world. But in order for us to become instruments for the triumph of her Immaculate Heart, Our Lady must triumph in our lives. To be able to triumph, she asks us to consecrate ourselves to her Immaculate Heart so that she can enter into our priestly lives as our Mother and work to transform us and to make of us, ever more, priests according to the Heart of Jesus. When she sees us similar to her Son Jesus, then her Immaculate Heart triumphs in us.”

capture-stefano-gobbi-marian-movement-of-priests-the-second-coming-and-the-eucharistic-reign(SOURCE)

In the following portion from the same article you will read what many in the Catholic Church teach concerning the end times, which is that the Eucharistic Christ will reign upon this earth, as revealed in one of the messages given to Catholic priest, Stefano Gobbi, supposedly by the Virgin Mary.

If many of you are unfamiliar with the term the “Eucharistic Christ,” here is some information for you that will help you to understand what the Catholic Church teaches:

“The mode of Christ’s presence under the Eucharistic species is unique. It raises the Eucharist above all the sacraments as “the perfection of the spiritual life and the end to which all the sacraments tend.” In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist “the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained. (Para 1374 CCC)

Worship of the Eucharist In the liturgy of the Mass we express our faith in the real presence of Christ under the species of bread and wine, by, among other ways, genuflecting or bowing deeply as a sign of  adoration of our Lord. “The Catholic Church always offered and still offers to the sacrament of the Eucharist the cult of adoration, not only during Mass, but also outside of it, reserving the consecrated hosts with the utmost care, exposing them to the solemn veneration of the faithful of the faithful and carrying them in procession.” (Para 1378)

“It is highly fitting that Christ should have wanted to remain present to his Church in this unique way. Since Christ was about to take his departure from his own in his visible form, he wanted to give us his sacramental presence; since he was about to offer himself on the cross to save us, he wanted us to have the memorial of the love with which he loved us “to the end,” even to the giving of his life. In his Eucharistic presence he remains mysteriously in our midst as the one who loved us and gave himself up for us, and he remains under signs that express and communicate this love:

“The Church and the world have great need for Eucharistic worship. Jesus awaits us in this sacrament of love. Let us not refuse the time to go to meet him in adoration, in contemplation full of faith, and open to making amends for the serious offenses and crimes of the world. Let our adoration never cease.”

Dear Catholic, please contrast the above statements from the CCC to what Jesus said in John Chapter 14:16, 16:7-13, and Matthew 28:20:

“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, the Spirit of truth, to stay with you forever.”

“But I tell you the truth: it is better for you that I go away, because if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I do go away, then I will send him to you. And when he comes he will prove to the people of the world that they are wrong about sin, and about what is right, and about God’s judgment. They are wrong about sin, because they do not believe in me; about what is right, because I am going to the Father and you will not see me any more; about judgment, because the ruler of this world has already been judged. I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much for you to bear. But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all the truth.”

“And remember! I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

In the fourth paragraph in the quick capture below you will also read about the “unity” that the Virgin Mary allegedly spoke about to Catholic priest, Stefano Gobbi…a unity that causes many of us who are Bible believing Christians to grieve and to shudder as we presently watch many give in to compromise because they are led by their emotions and end up sacrificing Biblical truth for the sake of unity. For your convenience I typed an important portion of it out below so that it would be easier for you to read:

“In a message Our Lady says that through her Immaculate Heart, universal peace will take place and the unity of the Church will be achieved. Finally, after so many years of division, and after so many (almost useless) efforts of ecumenism, the unity of the Church will be achieved and we will truly have the Eucharistic Reign of Christ within us.”

With all of that being said, let’s start by reading Scriptures that focus on the main points in this next section of the CCC, and please keep them in mind as you finally begin reading the teachings of the Catholic Church that you will find further below.

Be prepared, dear Catholic, because frequently you will once again find yourself having to answer this question:

“Are you going to believe the Word of God, or the word of man?”

Statements pertaining to what you will soon read, followed by Scriptures that will present you with God’s truth on the subject:

1. The Bible is God’s Living Word, therefore that is all we need to determine what is true or not spiritually:

“But as for you, continue in the truths that you were taught and firmly believe. You know who your teachers were, and you remember that ever since you were a child you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, so that the man who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good work. I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge all men, living and dead: because of his coming and of his Kingdom, I command you to preach the message, to insist upon telling it, whether the time is right or not; to convince, reproach, and encourage, teaching with all patience. The time will come when men will not listen to the true teaching, but will follow their own desires, and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends. But you must keep control of yourself in all circumstances; endure suffering, do the work of a preacher of the Good News, and perform your whole duty as a servant of God.” (2 Timothy 3:14-17, 4:1-5)(SHL)

“The Word of God is alive and active. It is sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meets, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of men’s hearts. There is nothing that can be hid from God. Everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes; and it is to him that we must all give account of ourselves.” (Hebrews 4:12) (SHL)

2. Concerning needing personal or further revelations, we need  nothing else since God has given us not only His Holy Word, but also His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, who is the living Word of God:

“Before the world was created, the Word already existed; he was with God, and he was the same as God. From the very beginning, the Word was with God.  Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. The Word was the source of life, and this life brought light to  men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put  it out.” (John 1:1-5) (SHL)

“He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. Christ is the visible likeness of the invisible God. He is the firstborn Son, superior to all created things.

For by him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things, including spiritual powers, lords, rulers, and authorities. God created the whole universe through him and for him. He existed before all things, and in union with him all things have their proper place. He is the head of his body, the church; he is the source of the body’s life; he is the firstborn Son who was raised from death, in order that he alone might have the first place in all things. For it was by God’s own decision that the Son has in himself the full nature of God.

Through the Son, then, God decided to bring the whole universe back to himself. God made peace through his Son’s death on the cross, and so brought back to himself all things, both on earth and in heaven. At one time you were far away from God and were his enemies because of the evil things you did and thought. But now, by means of the physical death of his Son, God has made you his friends in order to bring you holy, pure, and faultless into his presence. You must, of course, continue faithful on a firm and sure foundation and not allow yourselves to  be shaken from the hope you gained when you heard the gospel. It is of this gospel that I, Paul, became a servant–this gospel which has been preached to everybody in the world.”              (Colossians 1:13-23) (SHL)

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God has chosen to possess all things at the end. He shines with the brightness of God’s glory; he is the exact likeness of God’s own being, and sustains the universe with his powerful word. After he had made men clean from their sins, he sat down in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power.

The Son was made greater than the angels, just as the name that God gave him is greater than theirs. For God never said to any of his angels, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” Nor did God say to any angel, “I will be his Father, and he shall be my Son.” When God was about to send his firstborn Son into the world, he also said, “All of God’s angels must worship him.”

This is what God says about the angels, “God makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire.” About the Son, however, God said: “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever! You rule over your kingdom with  justice. You love the right and hate the wrong; that is why God, your God, chose you and gave you joy of an honor far greater than he gave to your companions.”

He also said, “You, Lord, in the beginning created the earth, and with your own hands you made the heavens. They will all disappear, but you will remain; they will all grow old like clothes. You will fold them up like a coat, and they will be changed like clothes. But you are always the same, and you will never grow old.” God never did say to any of his angels: “Sit here at my right side, until I put your enemies as a footstool under your feet.” What are the angels, then? They are all spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation.” (Hebrews 1:1-14) (SHL)

3. Beware of “another Jesus” and “another gospel” being preached to you:

“I am jealous for you just as God is; you are like a pure virgin whom I have promised in marriage to one man only, who is Christ. I am afraid that your minds will be corrupted and that you will abandon your full and pure devotion to Christ–in the same way that Eve was deceived by the snake’s clever lies. For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a different Jesus, not the one we preached; and you accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the spirit and the gospel you received from us!” (2 Corinthians 11:2-4) (SHL)

“I am surprised at you! In no time at all you are deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ, and are going to another gospel. Actually, there is no “other gospel,” but I say it because there are some people who are upsetting you and are trying to change the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel that is different from the one we preached to you, may he be condemned to hell! We have said it before, and now I say it again: If anyone preaches to you a gospel that is different from the one you accepted, may he be condemned to hell! (Galatians 1:6-9)(SHL)

4. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father, the only Mediator between God and man, and the only name by which we can be saved. The Virgin Mary, a humble and courageous woman who loved and obeyed God, was indeed blessed among women to have been chosen by God to give birth to His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who wrapped Himself in human flesh and came into this world to be our Savior. However, she must never be presented in such a way that what is taught about her goes beyond what God’s Word says and ends up even contradicting God’s Word and elevating her to the point of almost being equal to Jesus Christ, or even at times having more power and authority than Jesus Christ, as you will soon see by some of the information that I have added further below. Please keep these Scriptures in mind:

“Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.” (John 14:6) (SHL)

“For there is one God, and there is one who brings God and men together, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself to redeem all men.” (1 Timothy 2:5) (SHL)

“Peter,  full of the Holy Spirit, answered them, “Leaders of the people and elders: if we are being questioned today about the good deed done to the lame man and how he was made well, then you should all know, and all the people of Israel should know, that this man stands here before you completely well by the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth–whom you crucified and God raised from death. Jesus is the one of whom the scripture says, ‘ The stone that you the builders despised turned out to be the most important stone.’ Salvation is to be found through him alone; for there is no one else in all the world, whose name God has given to men, by whom we can be saved.” (Acts 4:8-12) (SHL)

5. The Holy Spirit, the third Person in the Godhead, was sent by Jesus Christ to guide us into all truth and to be with us forever. Never in Scripture do we read that the Virgin Mary would be sent to us to be with us, as some of the messages in many apparitions declare, as you will soon see in an upcoming post –Lord willing:

“If you love me, you will obey my commandments. I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, the Spirit of truth, to stay with you forever. The world cannot receive him, because it cannot see him or know him.” (John 14:15-17a) (SHL)

6. All of us are sinners –including the Virgin Mary who humbly admitted her need for a Savior:

“Mary said, “My heart praises the Lord; my soul is glad because of God my Savior, because he has remembered me, his lowly servant.” (Luke 1:46-48)

7. The only sinless person who ever walked this earth was Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. God clearly shows us this truth in His Word, as well as His amazing love and mercy –if you will only take the time to read these Scriptures, dear Catholic, and anyone else who has not yet place your trust in Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection as your only hope for forgiveness and acceptance by a thrice Holy God:

“As the Scriptures say: “There is no one who is righteous, no one who understands, or who seeks for God. All men have turned away from God; they have all gone wrong; no one does what is good, not even one.” (Romans 3:10-12) (SHL)

“God puts men right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all: all men have sinned and are far away from God’s saving presence. But by the free gift of God’s grace they are all put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free. God offered him so that by his death he should become the means by which men’s sins are forgiven, through their faith in him. God did this in order to demonstrate his righteousness. In the past he was patient and overlooked men’s sins; but now in the present time he deals with men’s sins, to demonstrate his righteousness. In this way God shows that he himself is righteous and that he puts right everyone who believes in Jesus. ” (Romans 3:23) (SHL)

“Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great high priest who has gone into the very presence of God–Jesus the Son of God. Our high priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy with our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a high priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. Let us be brave, then, and come forward to God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.” (Hebrews 4:14,15)(SHL)

8. Nowhere in Scripture do we see the Virgin Mary proclaimed to be the New Eve. We do, however, see Jesus Christ being declared as the last/second (New) Adam:

“For the scripture says, “The first man, Adam, was created a living being.”; but the last Adam is the life-giving Spirit. It is not the spiritual that comes first, but the physical, and then the spiritual. The first Adam was made from the dust of the earth; the second Adam came from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15:45-47) SHL

9. Dear Catholic, please listen to me carefully…nowhere in Scripture is the Virgin Mary ever exalted in such a way as you will hear her being exalted in the following video by a  Catholic priest. God makes it very clear in His Word when He says the following:

“I the Lord, this is my name: I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to graven things.” (Isaiah 42:8) (Douay Rheims Catholic Bible)

“For my own sake, for my own sake will I do it, that I may not be blasphemed: and I will not give my glory to another.” (Isaiah 48:11) (DRCB)

In the video further below you will not only hear the Catholic priest who gives this message say how the “restrainer” spoken of in 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2 is said to possibly be “the Pope” or “the Sacrifice of the Mass” instead of the Holy Spirit, but you will also hear how he adds to the truth of God’s Word by saying unbelievable things concerning the Virgin Mary that cannot be found anywhere in Scripture! These teachings end up elevating her to a position of power that would completely repulse the true, humble Virgin Mary of the Bible, and have the potential to cause many precious Catholics to believe complete lies about the Virgin Mary which will then lead them further from coming to know the truth concerning the full glory and majesty of Jesus Christ and all that He accomplished for us!

Here are just a few of the many disturbing and unbiblical things that you will hear being said, which begins by focusing on the apparitions at Fatima in 1917:

“This formula for peace and the triumph of Jesus, Mary, and Holy Church began with the recitation of the most holy Rosary. The Queen instructed her three little subjects, “Say the Rosary every day in order to obtain peace for the world and an end to the war.” Furthermore she encouraged them to do penances, to make sacrifices for sinners that they might be saved from the fires of hell. And Our Lady also spoke about her special roll in crushing Satan’s unjust tyranny. The key to true peace and human salvation was devotion to Our Lady. A consecration, in fact, of Russia and every single human person to her Immaculate Heart. Through Mary’s Queenship over all hearts and all nations, her triumphant reign, Christ’s Kingship would be present both in the interior life of men and in the public life of nations. Because where Mary is truly queen, Jesus is King.” (6:10 – 7:19 min. mark)

“In other words, the continued rejection of Christ’s Kingship and Mary’s reign as Queen, would mean their further absence and withdrawal, leaving men to suffer the horrible consequences.” (8:57-9:10)

“And to prove that Our Lady had truly visited  her  loyal subjects and that her message was real and was to be followed, a miracle from heaven was provided for all to see that would rival, and, yes, truly surpass the parting of the Red Sea by Moses.” (9:30-9:47 min. mark)

“As King Solomon of old reverenced his own mother, Queen Bathsheba, and seated her on a throne to his right and granted her every request, so the ultimate King of Wisdom and Prince of Peace, Christ the King, has placed his own mother upon a heavenly throne, and her intercession is omnipotent. Wherever Christ is King by right and by conquest, Mary is Queen by grace and by participation in that conquest. As the Mother of God, and the Mother of our King, Mary shares in the universal Kingship of Jesus Himself. For the Almighty has done great things for her, and holy is her name.” (12:10 -12:55 min. mark)

“And Pope Pius the XII only confirmed this statement of St. Thomas when he wrote, “It cannot be doubted that Mary Most Holy is far above all creatures in dignity, and after her Son possesses primacy over all creation. Her reign extends even to the demons themselves who are obliged to recognize her power. For  she can command that their temptations cease. She can save souls from their snares. And, yes, she can repulse their attacks, and they must kneel before her.” (13:10-13:45 min. mark)

Now I come to my last, but most important point. I consider it to be the most important point because it concerns and affects the truly good news of the gospel, our salvation, and therefore our eternal destiny:

10. Although the “Holy Mass” is centered entirely on Jesus Christ, Catholicism is based upon the Sacramental System and focuses mainly on the Sacrifice of the Mass.

Yes, dear Catholic, I know that Catholicism teaches that “the Mass is one and the same sacrifice as the one on Calvary,” (Para 1367 CCC) and how they also teach that during the Mass Jesus Christ is just being “represented to the Father,” and that they teach He is being offered in an “unbloody manner.” (Para 1382 CCC) However, as you will soon learn as we continue going through the teachings of the CCC, the Catholic Church also teaches that “the work of our redemption is carried out through the Sacrifice of the Mass.” (Para 1364 CCC)  If you carefully read what God’s Word has to say, and if you will pray and ask God to show you what the truth is, you will see that God makes it extremely clear in His Word that “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness,” (Hebrews 9:22) and that Jesus Christ’s “once for all” sacrifice on the cross (see Scriptures below) completely satisfied God’s wrath that He has towards us because of our sins, and therefore, when He willingly sacrificed  His life for us by dying in our place on the cross, His death was sufficient to pay the debt for all of our sins –in full! Because of God’s great love and mercy, and because His demand for justice has been met, there is no longer any need for any more sacrifices!

Please take a moment to ask God to open your eyes to the truth and then read the following Scriptures with all of the above thoughts in mind:

“But Christ did not go in to offer himself many times; for then he would have had to suffer many times; for then he would have had to suffer many times ever since the creation of the world. Instead, he has now appeared once and for all, when all ages of time are nearing the end, to remove sin through the sacrifice of himself. Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God, In the same manner, Christ also was offered in sacrifice once to take away the sins of many. He will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are waiting for him.”(Hebrews 10:25-28) (SHL)

“Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all made clean from sin by the offering that he made of his own body, once and for all. Every Jewish priest stands and performs his services every day and offers the same sacrifices many times. But these sacrifices can never take away sins. Christ, however, offered one sacrifice for sins, an offering that is good forever, and then sat down at the right side of God. There he now waits until God puts his enemies as a footstool under his feet. With one sacrifice, then, he has made perfect forever those who are clean from sin. And the Holy Spirit also gives us his witness. First he says, “This is the covenant that I will make with them  in the days to come, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts , and write them on their minds.” And then he says, “I will not remember their sins and wicked deeds any longer.” So when these have been forgiven, an offering to take away sins is no longer needed.” (Hebrews 10:10-18) (SHL)

Now, finally, I present to you the next section in the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

ARTICLE 6

“HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN AND IS SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER”

“So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.” (Para 659)

Jesus’ final apparition ends with the irreversible entry of his humanity into divine glory, symbolized by the cloud and by heaven, where he is seated from that time forward at God’s right hand.” (Para 659)

“This final stage stays closely linked to the first, that is, to his descent from heaven in the Incarnation. Only the one who “came from the Father” can return to the Father: Christ Jesus. “No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man.” (Para 661)

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” The lifting up of Jesus on the cross signifies and announces his lifting up by his Ascension into heaven, and indeed begins it. Jesus Christ, the one priest of the new and eternal Covenant, “entered, not into a sanctuary made by human hands…but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.” There Christ permanently exercises his priesthood, “for he always lives to make intercession” for “those who draw near to God through him.” As “high priest of the good things to come” he is the center and the principal actor of the liturgy that honors the Father in heaven.” (Para 662)

“Henceforth Christ is seated at the  right hand of the Father: “By ‘the Father’s right hand’ we understand the glory and honor of divinity, where he who exists as Son of God before all ages, indeed as God, of one being with the Father, is seated bodily after he became incarnate and his flesh was glorified.” (Para 663)

“Jesus Christ, having entered the sanctuary of heaven once and for all, intercedes constantly for us as the mediator who assures us of the permanent outpouring of the Holy Spirit.” (Para 667)

At this point I find it necessary to take a brief moment to remind you, once again, that whenever you see the word “church” capitalized, it is specifically referring to the “Catholic Church.” This will become clearer to you as we continue on in this series.

Let’s continue by taking just a glimpse, at this point, at what Catholicism teaches concerning the end times:

1. HE WILL COME AGAIN IN GLORY

Christ already reigns through the Church…”Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.” Christ’s Ascension into heaven signifies his participation, in his humanity, in God’s power and authority. Jesus Christ is Lord: he possesses all power in heaven and on earth. He is far above all rule and authority and power and dominion,” for the Father “has put all things under his feet.” Christ is Lord of the cosmos and of history. In him human history and indeed all creation are “set forth” and transcendently fulfilled.” (Para 668)

“As Lord, Christ is also head of the Church, which is his Body. Taken up to heaven and glorified after he had thus fully accomplished his mission, Christ dwells on earth in his Church. The redemption is the source of the authority that Christ, by virtue of the Holy Spirit , exercises over the Church. “The kingdom of Christ [is] already present in mystery,” “on earth, the seed and the beginning of the kingdom.” (Para 669)

“Since the Ascension God’s plan has entered into its fulfillment. We are already “at the last hour.” “Already the final age of the world is with us, and the renewal  of the world is irrevocably under way; it is even now anticipated in a certain real way, for the Church on earth is endowed already with a sanctity that is real but imperfect.” Christ’s kingdom already manifests its presence through the miraculous signs that attend its proclamation by the Church.” (Para 670)

…until all things are subjected to him

“Though already present in his Church, Christ’s reign is nevertheless yet to be fulfilled “with power and great glory” by the king’s return to earth. This reign is still under attack by the evil powers, even though they have been defeated definitively by Christ’s Passover. Until everything is subject to him, “until there be realized new heavens and a new earth in which justice dwells, the pilgrim Church, in her sacraments and institutions, which belong to this present age, carries the mark of this world which will pass, and she herself takes her place among the creatures which groan and travail yet and await the revelation of the sons of God.” That is why Christians pray, above all in the Eucharist, to hasten Christ’s return by saying to him: *”Marana tha! “Our Lord, come!” (Para 671)

The glorious advent of Christ, the hope of Israel

“Since the Ascension Christ’s coming in glory has been imminent, even though “it is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority.” This eschatological coming could be accomplished at any moment, even if both it and the fiery trial that will precede it are “delayed.”

The Church’s ultimate trial

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a fiery trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.” (Para 675)

“The  Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism, especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of secular messianism.” (Para 676)

“The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection. The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven. God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment after the final cosmic upheaval of this passing world.” (Para 677)

CHAPTER THREE

I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

“The Church, a communion living in the faith of the apostles which she transmits, is the place where we know the Holy Spirit:

–in the Scriptures he inspired;

–in the Tradition, to which the Church Fathers are always timely witnesses;

–in the Church’s Magisterium, which he assists;

–in the sacramental liturgy, through its words and symbols, in which the Holy Spirit puts us into communion with Christ;

–in prayer, wherein he intercedes for us; –in the charisms and ministries by which the Church is built up;

–in the signs of apostolic and missionary life;

–in the witness of saints through whom he manifests his holiness and continues the work of salvation.” (Para 688)

Titles of the Holy Spirit

“When he proclaims and promises the coming of the Holy Spirit, Jesus calls him the “Paraclete,” literally, “he who is called to one’s side,” ad-vocatus. “Paraclete” is commonly translated by “consoler” and Jesus is the first “consoler. The Lord also called the Holy Spirit “the Spirit of  truth.” (Para 692)

“Rejoice, you who are full of grace”

“Mary, the all-holy ever-virgin Mother of God, is the Masterwork of the mission of the Son and the Spirit in the fullness of time. For the first time in the plan of salvation and because his Spirit had prepared her, the Father found a dwelling place where his Son and his Spirit could dwell among men. In this sense the Church’s Tradition  has often read the the most beautiful texts on wisdom in relation to Mary. Mary is acclaimed and represented in the liturgy as  the “Seat of Wisdom.” In her, the “wonders of God” that the Spirit was to fulfill in Christ and the Church began to be manifested: (Para 721)

“The Holy Spirit prepared Mary by his grace. It was fitting that the mother of him  in whom “the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily” should herself be “full of grace.” She was, by sheer grace, conceived without sin as the most humble of creatures, the most capable of welcoming the inexpressible gift of the Almighty. It was quite correct for the angel Gabriel to greet her as the “Daughter of Zion.” : “Rejoice.” “In Mary, the Holy Spirit manifests the Son of the Father , now become the Son of the Virgin. She is the burning bush of the definitive theophany. Filled with the Holy Spirit she makes the Word visible in the humility of his flesh. It is to the poor and the first representatives of the gentiles that she makes him known.” (Para 724)

“Finally through Mary, the Holy Spirit begins to bring men, the objects of God’s merciful love, into communion with Christ. And the humble are always the first to accept him: shepherds, magi, Simeon and Anna, the bride and groom at Cana, and the first disciples. (Para 725)

“At the end of this mission of the Spirit, Mary became the Woman, the new Eve (“mother of the living”), the mother of the “whole Christ.” As such, she was present with the Twelve, who “with one accord devoted themselves to prayer,” at the dawn of the “end time” which the Spirit was to inaugurate on the morning of Pentecost with the manifestation of the Church.” (Para 726)

Christ Jesus

Jesus does not reveal the Holy Spirit fully, until he himself has been glorified through his Death and Resurrection. Nevertheless, little by little he alludes to him even in his teaching of the multitudes, as when he reveals that his own flesh will be food for the life of the world.” (Para 728)

“Only when the hour has arrived for his glorification does Jesus promise the coming of the Holy Spirit, since his Death and Resurrection will fulfill the promise made to the fathers. The Spirit of truth, the other Paraclete, will be given by the Father in answer to Jesus’ prayer; he will be sent by the Father in Jesus’ name; and Jesus will send him from the Father’s side, since he comes from the Father. The Holy Spirit will come and we shall know him; he will be with us forever; he will remain with us. The Spirit will teach us everything, remind us all that Christ said to us and bear witness to him. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and will glorify Christ. He will prove the world wrong about sin, righteousness, and judgment.” (Para 729)

A thought for you to ponder:

As you have seen from reading the paragraph above, the CCC speaks the truth about the Holy Spirit by quoting Scripture that declares the Holy Spirit was sent and He will be with us forever. Then why do they promote Marian Apparitions in which Mary declares that she will be with us always, giving her the attributes of deity?

Below are two more examples of message given by Marian apparitions. (Lord willing, I will share more messages with you in an upcoming post).

Would the Virgin Mary, who is revealed to us in Scripture as a humble woman who loved and trusted God, give unbiblical messages such as these if it truly was her who appeared at these places?

“I alone am able still to save you from the calamities which approach. Those who place their confidence in me will be saved.” (Message from Our Lady  of Akita Japan – Message received full approval by the Catholic Church).

“My daughter, in this time I am the ark for all your brethren. I am the Ark of peace. I am the Ark of Salvation. The Ark where my children must enter if they wish to live in the kingdom of God.” (Message from Our Lady of San Nicolas – Message approved by Catholic Bishops).

capture-fatima-quote-of-message-said-to-have-been-given-by-the-virgin-mary-at-fatima-does-not-line-up-with-scripture

Let’s continue:

“The Spirit prepares men and goes out to them with his grace, in order to draw them to Christ. The Spirit manifests the risen Lord to them, recalls his word to them and opens their minds to the understanding of his Death and Resurrection. He makes present the mystery of Christ, supremely in the Eucharist, in order to reconcile them, to bring them into communion with God, that they may “bear much fruit.” (Para 737)

“Thus the Church’s mission is not an addition to that of Christ and the Holy Spirit, but is its sacrament: in her whole being and in all her members, the Church is sent to announce, bear witness, make present, and spread the mystery of the communion of the Holy Trinity (the topic of the next article):”

“All of us who have received one and the same Spirit, that is, the Holy Spirit, are in a sense blended together with one another and with God. For if Christ, together with the Father’s and his own Spirit, comes to dwell in each of us, though we are  many, still the Spirit is one and undivided. He binds together the spirits of each and every one of us,…and makes all appear as one in him. For just as the power of Christ’s sacred flesh unites those in whom it dwells into one body, I think that in the same way the one and undivided Spirit of God who dwells in all, leads all into spiritual unity.” (Para 738)

“Through the Church’s sacraments, Christ communicates his Holy and sanctifying Spirit to the members of his Body. (This will be the topic of Part Two of the Catechism.)” (Para 739)

ARTICLE 9

“I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH”

“In Christian usage, the word “church” designates the liturgical assembly, but also the local community or the whole universal community of believers. These three meanings are inseparable. “The Church” is the People that God gathers in the whole world. She exists in local communities and is made real as a liturgical, above all a Eucharistic, assembly. She draws her life from the word and the Body of Christ and so herself becomes Christ’s Body.”

II. THE CHURCH’S ORIGIN, FOUNDATION, AND MISSION

“We begin our investigation of the Church’s mystery by meditating on her origin in the Holy Trinity’s plan and her progressive realization in history.”

The Church –foreshadowed from the world’s beginning

“The Church is  the goal of all things, and God permitted such painful upheavals as the angels’ fall and man’s sin only as occasions and means for displaying all the power of his arm and the whole measure of the love he wanted to give the world: Just as God’s will is creation and it is called “the world,” so his intention is the salvation of men, and it is called “the Church.” (Para 760)

The Church–prepared for in the Old Covenant

“The gathering together of the People of God began at the moment when sin  destroyed the communion of men with God, and that of men among themselves. The gathering together of the Church is, as it were, God’s reaction to the chaos provoked by sin. (Para 761)

The Church–instituted by Christ Jesus

“It was the Son’s task to accomplish the Father’s plan of salvation in the fullness of time. Its accomplishment was the reason for his being sent. “The Lord Jesus inaugurated his Church by preaching the Good News, that is, the coming of the Reign of God, promised over the ages in the scriptures.” To fulfill the Father’s will Christ ushered in the Kingdom of heaven on earth. The Church “is the Reign of Christ already present in mystery.” (Para 763)

“The Church is born primarily of Christ’s total self-giving for our salvation, anticipated in the instruction of the Eucharist and fulfilled on the cross. “The origin and growth of the Church are symbolized by the blood and water which flowed from the open side of the crucified Jesus.” “For it was from the side of Christ as he slept the sleep of death upon the cross that there came forth the ‘wondrous sacrament of the whole Church.” As Eve was formed from the sleeping Adam’s side, so the Church was born from the pierced heart of Christ hanging dead on the cross.” (Para 766)

III. THE MYSTERY OF THE CHURCH

“The Church is in history, but at the same time she transcends it. It is only “with the eyes of faith” that one can see her in her visible reality and at the same time in her spiritual reality as bearer of divine life.” (Para 770)

The Church–both visible and spiritual

“The one mediator, Christ, established and ever sustains here on earth his holy Church, the community of faith, hope, and charity, as a visible organization through which he communicates truth and grace to all men.” (Para 771)

The Church–mystery of men’s union with God

“It is in the Church that Christ fulfills and reveals his own mystery as the purpose of God’s plan: “to unite all things in him.” St. Paul calls the nuptial union of Christ and the Church “a great mystery.” Because she is united to Christ as to her bridegroom, she becomes a mystery in her turn. Contemplating this mystery in her, Paul exclaims: “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:20) (Para 772)

“In the Church this communion of men with God, in the “love [that] never ends,” is the purpose which governs everything in her that is a sacramental  means, tied to this passing world. “[The Church’s] structure is totally ordered to the holiness of Christ’s members. And holiness is measured according  to the ‘great mystery’ in which the Bride responds with the gift of love to the gift of the Bridegroom.” Mary goes before us all in the holiness that is the Church’s mystery as the “bride without spot or wrinkle.” This is why the “Marian” dimension of the Church precedes the Petrine.” (Para 773)

The universal Sacrament of Salvation “The Greek word mysterion was translated in Latin by two terms mysterium and sacramentum. In later  usage the term sacramentum emphasizes the visible sign of the hidden reality of salvation which was indicated by the term mysterium. In this sense Christ himself is the mystery of salvation: “For there is no other mystery of God, except Christ.” The saving work of his holy and sanctifying humanity is the sacrament of salvation, which is revealed and active in the Church’s sacraments (which the Eastern Churches also call “the holy mysteries”). The seven sacraments are the signs and instruments by which the Holy Spirit spreads the grace of Christ the head throughout the Church which is his Body. The Church, then, both contains and communicates the invisible grace she signifies. It is in this analogical sense, that the Church is called a “sacrament.” (Para 774)

“The Church, in Christ, is like a sacrament–a sign and instrument, that is, of communion with God and of unity among all men.” The Church’s first purpose is to be the sacrament of the inner union of men with God. Because men’s communion with one another is rooted in that union with God, the Church is also the sacrament of the unity of the human race. In her, this unity is already begun, since she gathers men “from every nation, from all tribes and people and tongues”; at the same time, the Church is the “sign and instrument” of the full realization of the unity yet to come.” (Para 775)

“As sacrament, the Church is Christ’s instrument. “She is taken up by him also as the instrument for the salvation of all,” “the universal sacrament of salvation,” by which Christ is “at once manifesting and actualizing the mystery of God’s love for men.” The Church “is the visible plan of God’s love for humanity,” because God desires “that the whole human race may become one People of God, form one Body of Christ, and be built up into one temple of the Holy Spirit.”  (Para 776)

“The Church is both the means and the goal of God’s plan: prefigured in salvation, prepared for in the Old Covenant, founded by the words and actions of Jesus Christ, fulfilled by his redeeming cross and his Resurrection, the Church has been manifested as the mystery of salvation by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. She will be perfected in the glory of heaven as the assembly of all the redeemed of the earth. (cf. Rev.4:4).”(Para 778)

“She is one, yet formed of two components, human and divine. That is her mystery, which only faith can accept.”(Para 779)

“The Church in this world is the sacrament of salvation, the sign and the instrument of the communion of God and men.” (Para 780)

RELATED SCRIPTURES

“For the Scripture says, “You will be a priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.” The old rule, then, is set aside, because it was weak and useless. For the law of Moses could not make anything perfect. And now a better hope has been brought in, through which we come near to God. In addition, there is also God’s vow. There was no such vow when the others were made priests. But Jesus became a priest by means of a vow, when God said to him, “The Lord has made a vow, and will not change his mind: ‘You will be a priest forever.’ ”  This difference, then, makes Jesus the guarantee also of a better covenant. There is another difference: those other priests were many because they died and could not continue their work. But Jesus lives on forever, and his work as priest does not pass on to someone else. And so he is able, now and always, to save those who come to God through him, because he lives forever to plead with God for them.” (Hebrews 7:17-25) Sacred Heart League Catholic New Testament

“First he said, “You neither want nor are you pleased with sacrifices and offerings, or with animals burned on the altar and the sacrifices to take away sins.” He said this even though all these sacrifices are offered according to the Law. Then he said, “Here I am, God, to do your what you want me to do.” So God does away with all the old sacrifices and puts the sacrifice of Christ in their place. Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all made clean from sin by the offering that he made of his own body, once and for all. First he says, “This is the covenant that I will make with them in the days to come, says the Lord: I will put my law in their hearts, and write them on their minds .” And then he says, “I will not remember their sins and wicked deeds any longer.” So when these have been forgiven, an offering to take away sins is no longer needed.” (Hebrews 10:8-18) SHLCNT

“You call him Father, when you pray to God, who judges all men , by the same standard, according to what each one has done; so then, spend the rest of your lives here on earth in reverence for him. For you know what was paid to set you free from the worthless manner of life you received from your ancestors. It was not something that loses its value, such as silver or gold; you were set free by the costly sacrifice of Christ, who was like a lamb without defect or spot. He had been chosen by God before the creation of the world, and was revealed in these last days for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from death and gave him glory; and so your faith and hope are fixed on God.” (1 Peter 1:17-21) (SHLCNT)

“For Christ himself died for you; once and for all he died for sins, a good man for bad men, in order to lead you to God.” (1 Peter 3:18) (SHLCNT)

“As soon as night came, the brothers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived, they to the Jewish synagogue. The people there were more open-minded than the people in Thessalonica. They listened to the message with great eagerness, and every day they studied the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was really true.” (Acts 17:10,11) (SHLCNT)

For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a different Jesus, not the one we preached; and you accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!” “I will go on doing what I am doing now, in order to keep those other “apostles” from having any reason for boasting and saying that they work in the same way that we do. Those men are not true apostles–they are false apostles, who lie about their work and change themselves to look like real apostles of Christ. Well, no wonder! Even Satan can change himself to look like an angel of light! So it is no great thing if his servants change themselves to look like servants of right. In the end they will get exactly what they deserve for the things they do.” (2 Corinthians 11:12-15) (SHLCNT)

“I write you this, my children, so that you will not sin; but if anyone does sin, we have Jesus Christ, the righteous, who pleads for us with the Father. And Christ himself is the means by which our sins are forgiven, and not our sins only, but also the sins of all men.” (1 John 2:1,2) (SHLCNT)

“False prophets appeared in the past among the people, and in the same way false teachers will appear among you. They will bring in destructive, untrue doctrines, and deny the Master who redeemed them, and so bring upon themselves sudden destruction. Even so, many will follow their immoral ways; and, because of what they do, people will speak evil of the Way of truth. In their greed these false teachers will make a profit out of telling you made-up stories. For a long time now their Judge has been ready, and their Destroyer has been wide awake!” (2 Peter 2:1-3) (SHLCNT)

“We know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the Evil One. We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we know the true God. Our lives are in the true God–in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and this is eternal life. My children, keep yourselves safe from false gods!” (1 John 5:19-21) (SHLCNT)
