My Dad was a hard working man who always spoke kindly and gently to us. He showed us what marriage is supposed to be like; loving our Mom in word and in deed, and treating her with respect all the days of his life. Although he worked many hours each day and came home very late, he always planned special vacations for all of us during the summer and we enjoyed spending that time with him –and with our sweet Mom.
Treasure your Dad — and your Mom — because the day may come suddenly when he — and/or she — will no longer be with you. Live in such a way that when that day does come, you will not live with regrets of loving, caring words that you should have said but didn’t, and days you could have spent with them, but chose not to.
For those of you who may have been abused by your dad, whether it may have been verbally, physically, sexually, or by neglect, I am deeply, deeply sorry! Please be assured that you have a Heavenly Father who longs to love you in ways that you should have been loved by your earthly Dad: guiding your steps with love and correction, giving you wisdom through His Word, the Bible, to help you make right choices that bring blessings and not regrets, comforting you in the midst of trials and heartache, giving you peace in the midst of the storms of life, and in so many other ways.
Coming to Jesus Christ, who was and is God in the flesh, is the only way for you to come to the Father. Placing our trust in the only way that God has provided for us to remove the barrier of sin that separates us from Him is the only way that we can have a relationship with Him. It is through believing that Jesus Christ lived the perfect, sinless life that you and I could never live, that He died in your place and in mine on the cross not only taking upon Himself God’s full wrath intended for me and for you because of our sins, but also He took upon Himself our guilt, shame, and sorrow. He was buried, but gloriously arose from the dead three days later in bodily form showing that God accepted His death as full payment for our sins and guilt –no matter how evil of a life we may have lived! Making this choice is the only way for you to come to the Father and enable you to have healing, comfort, and an everlasting relationship with Him that will begin on this earth and continue on throughout eternity. It is a choice that each one of us must make before we take our final breath, or we will be eternally separated from His love in a place of fire and continual torment, defined very clearly in God’s Word as a place called hell. Hell was never created for man, but only for the devil and his angels. Only those who choose to love their sins and refuse to love the truth and so be saved will be the only ones who end up in hell.
This is the most important message that I could ever share with you, and I pray that you will take it seriously. Because no matter what your beliefs presently are, the day will definitely come, dear reader, when you will find out that what I have shared with you, which comes directly from God’s Word, is indeed true! God determined the means by which you can be saved and have a relationship with Him — through Jesus Christ alone — but it is your choice alone that determines where you will spend eternity.
