Category: SCRIPTURE SUNDAY SUMMER SERIES

SERIES INTRODUCTION

Let’s face it. We are truly living in trying times! Many are without jobs, some have had to close their businesses due to the shutdown and lack of income, our country is in chaos because so many people are in rebellion against God and those in authority, and things worldwide seem like they are only getting worse! However, for those of us who have placed our trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins, we have a  hope that cannot be extinguished –no matter what! We look around and realize all of the chaos and lawlessness are clear signs of the soon return of Jesus Christ! Whether we have just a few more hours remaining or many more years to wait, we have so much to look forward to after life, as we now know it, finally comes to an end!

Even though our hope may be in Jesus Christ, sometimes we still experience discouragement and sorrow when we see what’s happening all around us, which is why it’s so important for us as born-again, Bible believing Christians to stay in God’s Word for the encouragement and spiritual strength that we need to get us through each day and so we can be a light in this dark world to those who do not know the true love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Just imagine the hopelessness, fear, and discouragement they must be feeling right now! During these very trying times, let’s come before the Lord and surrender any sorrow, fear, discouragement, and frustration to Him and ask Him to fill us with His strength, wisdom, joy, and grace so that we can share His love and the truth of the Biblical gospel with those who need to hear it and to receive it!

As hard as it is to believe, today, September 20, 2020, is the last Sunday of our summer season. Although summer is coming to an end, I pray that you will continue to stay in God’s Word on a daily basis for truth, encouragement, guidance, and, yes, even for conviction of sin so that we might be prepared for His return which may be sooner than any of us could ever imagine!

Here now is your final Scripture to reflect upon which brings this series to a close. Please keep in mind that only those who not only believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh but also have made the choice to put their faith and trust in the once for all sacrifice  of Jesus Christ when He willingly died on the cross in our place, taking upon Himself our sins, guilt, shame, and sorrows, died, and was gloriously raised from the dead, will then become a child of God and experience true peace that this Scripture — and many others — speak about. Jesus Christ is mankind’s only Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5) and only Savior. (Acts 4:8-12)

Dear reader, no matter what you may have been taught, that is the truth that is recorded in God’s Word, and it is the Biblical gospel message that presents the only way to God the Father (John 14:6, John 3:36) to receive forgiveness for your sins and peace at all times; a peace that surpasses all human understanding if you choose to pray instead of worry (Philippians 4:4-7).

UPDATE:

I already started on the next post in the series in which we are going through the Catechism Of The Catholic Church and comparing many of the teachings to Scripture in a Catholic New Testament not only to show precious Catholics the full truth regarding all that Jesus Christ truly accomplished for us by His sinless life, His willingness to die on the cross in our place for our sins, His burial, and His glorious bodily resurrection from the dead three days later, but also to show Bible believing Christians what the Catholic church actually teaches regarding salvation so that they will realize the need to reach out to their Catholic friends and family members who need to hear the truly good news of the Biblical gospel and how, according to the truth that can be found in God’s Word, they can have the assurance of salvation. (1 John 5:9-13) However, this past week I have been having a lot of trouble getting a solid connection to my Internet service which has made it very difficult to try and continue writing it. Thankfully, yesterday I was able to work on it for a couple of hours though. Lord willing, I will continue to work on it when time allows, and on days when I am receiving a strong connection to my Internet service.

UPDATE:

This past Thursday I spent many hours writing Part 15 of the series, ‘Comparing Scriptures In The Catholic New Testament Bible To Teachings Found In The Catechism Of The Catholic Church – Dear Catholic, Are You Going To Believe The Word Of God Or The Word Of Man?’ I am almost finished writing it; I only need to add some more Scriptures, a few closing thoughts, and additional helpful information for you. However, I am having issues with my computer; I was unable to connect to my Internet service all day this past Friday, so I am behind because of that. Lord willing, I hope to be able to finish it by the end of this coming week as long as I don’t have any more issues connecting to my Internet service.
